John 16:33 (NIV) — Take Heart! I Have Overcome the World Live from London, England — where faith meets the world in daily prayer and global hope. Today’s Nations: Australia • Canada • Brazil • Romania • France • Hungary Theme: Courage • Victory • Hope The middle of the day often tells a different story from the beginning. Unexpected challenges may have appeared, plans may have changed or the weight of responsibility may feel heavier than it did this morning. If today has become more difficult than you expected, pause for a moment. Jesus understands the reality of living in a broken world. He never pretended life would always be easy, yet He gave His followers a promise that still speaks with strength today. Before we look at our circumstances again, let’s first listen to the voice of Christ. Scripture (NIV) “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33 Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us Your Son, Jesus Christ, whose victory is greater than every challenge we face. When today’s pressures seem overwhelming, help us remember that our confidence rests not in our own strength but in the One who has overcome the world. Fill our hearts with the peace that Jesus promised and strengthen us to face each moment with faith rather than fear. May the Holy Spirit remind us that Your presence never leaves us, Your promises never fail and Your grace is always sufficient. Give us courage to continue with hope, kindness to reflect Christ in every conversation and confidence that nothing can separate us from Your faithful care today. Fear will not win, because Jesus Christ has overcome the world and His peace remains with us. May the Lord Jesus strengthen your heart this afternoon, fill you with His lasting peace and remind you that His victory is greater than every challenge you face. Daily Prayer, John 16, Take Heart, Midday Prayer, Christian Podcast, DailyPrayer.uk  John 16:33 prayer, take heart I have overcome the world, Christian midday prayer, peace in Christ, DailyPrayer.uk Hidden Treasures: Discover more Bible-centred prayers in the Hidden Treasures library, inspired by Isaiah 45:3 (NIV).

Welcome And Why We Pray

SPEAKER_00

Welcome to Daily Prayer. I'm Reverend Ben Cooper coming to you live from our studios in London, England. Let's open the word of God together and let's pray together. God bless you and welcome. Whether you're new to this prayer time together or whether you've been joining us since lockdown, the Spirit of the Lord is with each and every one of

us. We're going to go straight to the Gospel of John 16, 33, to get the title of our prayer. But I want to encourage you, don't ever give up. God is with you. The Spirit of the Lord is over your life. God loves you. Take heart. This is the title of our prayer together. Take heart. I have overcome the world. Father, as we pause right now, Lord, we're going to get a cup of tea. Holy Spirit, we're going to grab a coffee. And Lord, as we make the tea and the coffee, as we take five minutes out, Lord, we are going to pause and we are going to take heart. And Lord, I thank you that you have overcome the world, that the Holy Spirit is our comforter, that Jesus Christ is our living word, that the God of Israel is our Father. And Lord, I thank you that you're with us through every complicated area of life, all the unexpected challenges that are appearing, the plans, dear God, that are changing, the responsibilities that are sitting over our shoulders, and the heaviness that is on us.

Trouble Is Real But Not Final

And Lord, what we've come from this morning to where we sit at this hour, whatever is in our evening, we believe that the power of God is in our lives. And Lord, as we walk through John 16, verse 33, I have told you these things so that you may know the full peace. In this world you will have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the world. Father, I thank you that the midpoint of that scripture is speaking to each and every one of us. Lord, you tell us to take heart because you have overcome the world. And Lord, you tell us in this world we will have trouble. So Lord, we are expecting the trouble, but Lord, what we're expecting is the word to be greater and stronger than the trouble. So Lord, when the trouble comes in, when the fear approaches our heart, Lord, I thank you that God lifts up a standard and the power of God is in our lives. And Lord, as we stretch out, Lord, wide and far, Lord, we carry one another right now at this hour. Lord, we thank you that there is power in that beautiful name. And Lord, as worry comes in, Lord, you lift us. Lord, as doubt comes in, you lift us. As unexpected changes come in, you lift us. And Lord, whatever battle we face, whatever fear we face, Lord, from the battlefield to the prison, from the prison, dear God, to the car, to the van, to the scaffold, to the work schedules, to the children being at home. Lord, cutting the grass and cooking the food, looking after the family, making a tea and a coffee, whatever rhythm our day is performing like right now, we come to you, Lord. And whatever these circumstances are, Lord, we thank you that the voice of Christ is loud. Lord, I want to hear the voice of Jesus because Lord, you tell us in this world you will have trouble. Lord, that actually brings me peace. Lord, that you tell us through the good book that in this world we will have trouble but take heart. So Lord, will you help me to take heart? Lord, will you show me how to take heart? Lord, will you show me, dear God, how to execute to take heart? Lord, how do I do this? Lord, I call on the God of David. I call on the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. Lord, I thank you that you are my Jehovah Jireh. You are our healer. You are our God. You are the greatest God. You are the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Lord, there is no one higher than you. But Lord, help us to take heart. Help us, dear God, to realize that you have overcome the world and we

are grafted into the vine. And Lord, I pray for peace. Lord, I pray for peace right now. That peace will be so strong at home, at work, in the traffic jam. Lord, whatever we are doing, whatever the rhythm of life is, Lord, I pray for three areas of our lives. Lord, we are looking for hope. Oh my good God, do we need hope right now? Lord, I pray as hope starts to move. Lord, we start to see victory. And as we go through victory, Lord, we see the courage. Lord, we thank you for the courage. We thank you for the power. We thank you for the glory. But right now, Lord, we pray that the love of Jesus will be so strong. Help us to take heart and Lord, come to the realization that you have overcome the world, that you are the great I am. You are Jehovah Jirah, Jehovah Nisi. And Lord, whatever the hour is, whatever our story is, we thank you, Lord, that you're in our story, that you created our story. And Lord, no weapon forged against us shall prosper. But as we stretch out live from this studio, all the way to Australia, Canada, Brazil, Romania, France, and Hungary, Father, we are looking for hope and we're going to walk in victory. Not only are we walking in victory, we're walking in courage, we're walking in anointing. But Lord, I thank you, Lord, that you're just calling us. Jesus, will you call every heart right now? Jesus, will you call every one of us wherever we are across this planet? From the battlefield to the boardroom, from the prison to the hospice, from the hospice, dear God, to the hospital, to every sunset, to every rainfall, from every storm to every mountaintop experience. Father, cover us in the blood of Jesus. Lead us in paths of righteousness. But right now, Lord, we are going to take heart. We're going to hold on to the word of God because you, dear God, have overcome the world and we are grafted into the vine, and nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus.
