SPEAKER_00Welcome to Daily Prayer. I'm Reverend Ben Cooper coming to you live from our studios in London, England. Let's open God's word together and let's pray together wherever you are. It is the late night devotional prayer time before the curtains close on this day. Before we get ourselves into bed, let's just gather our thoughts at this moment in time. We're going to jump straight through to the beautiful prayers of David, Psalms 16, verse 8. But I just want to say thank you for staying with me today and thank you for going into the back library and sharing our prayers out in dailyprayer.uk. We're going to jump straight through.
Stand Secure With God Beside You
SPEAKER_00Here we go. This is the title of our closing prayer today. Stand secure tonight, for the Lord is beside you. Holy fire of God. Lord, bring calmness.
Finding Safety In A Tense World
SPEAKER_00Lord, we pray for three areas of our lives. Lord, we need to feel secure in a world that is very dangerous and there is a lot of volatility. Holy Spirit, we need to find security through the power of Jesus Christ. So Lord, I pray that you will draw us into the vine. Lord, that we know that we're grafted in, but Lord, we just need to feel this security. Because Lord, there are things happening around the world. Lord, and it's making a lot of tension. Lord, the world feels very tense, very scared.
Asking For Rest And Better Sleep
SPEAKER_00And Lord, not only do we need your security and your presence, Lord, we need rest. So Lord, as we seek the Father's rest tonight, Holy Spirit, will you help us to sleep? Because Lord, we're not sleeping too well. And Lord, we've been going through different seasons, different emotional seasons. And Lord, it is physically exhausting. Lord, we've gone through the winter, we've gone through the spring, the summer, and the autumn, the different seasons of the emotional roller coaster of life. And right now, Lord, we are seeking the Father's heart. And Lord, I pray that we will not be shaken. And Lord, according to Psalm 16, verse 8, I will keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Father, let that scripture, Lord, let me soak that scripture up at this moment. Father, let me just come to the realization that I will never be shaken. That we will never be shaken. But Lord, it's our emotions, it's our fears and our doubts that try to shake us. But according to the prayers of David in Psalm 16, I will keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand. I will not be shaken. Father, let that scripture just penetrate our heart tonight. Lord, I pray that we will walk in a quiet confidence. I believe, dear God, that Jesus Christ is with us right now. I believe that the Holy Spirit is ministering to us right now. We pray for those that are not well, those that are scared, those that have got physical impairments. Holy Ghost, great God, great King that you are. We need stability in our lives. Father, we need rest. We need spiritual rest. And Father, wherever we are, as we stretch out live from London, England, all the way to Zimbabwe, Botswana, all the way to Russia, Rwanda, dear God, I pray for Bahrain and Italy. We are praying, dear God, that the love of God will come like fresh summer rain. Holy Spirit, help us to look up to Jesus Christ. And as the psalmist writes so clearly, I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not
Decluttering The Filing Drawer Of Mind
SPEAKER_00be shaken. Father, what we've gone through today, the burdens we are carrying, the disappointments that keep lifting and rising in our head. Father, as we pray, I ask you right now that we will find that beautiful place of rest tonight. And Lord, that you will open gently the filing drawer of the mind. Lord, that you will open the mind right now, the filing drawer. And Lord, will you take all the files that we have stacked up over time? The files of history, the files of pain, the files of doubt, the files of insecurities, the files of words, text, emails that have come our way. Lord, I pray that you will open our hearts and our minds. Open that filing drawer tonight and declutter us. Lord, as we sleep tonight, Lord, as we close our eyes, as we put our head on the pillow, I ask you, dear God, will you declutter the filing drawer of our heart and our mind? Lord, so that we wake up in the morning refreshed, restored. Father, I thank you that your love and your grace is over each and every one of us. Lord, from the battlefield to the boardroom. Lord, to every sunset, to every rainfall. Lord, whatever storm we're going through, whatever fears we are faced with, and whatever challenges are on the track of life. Lord, we're going to breathe right now. And Lord, we're going to get in bed. And Lord, we're going to sleep well tonight because the Spirit of the Lord is over our lives. And according to the beautiful prayers of David, I will keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Father, I pray for every heart that's with me. I thank you, Lord, that their lives will never be shaken, that you are watching over their homes, their families, every area of their life tonight. Let peace rest in their hearts. Carry them all the way through this beautiful night and restore us and heal us. So as we wake in the morning, Jesus, Father, we will find that we are refreshed and restored in Jesus' name.
