Psalm 3:5 — I Lay Down and Slept Live from London, England — where faith meets the world in daily prayer and global hope. Hobart • Hamilton • Singapore • Dallas • Buenos Aires REST • RENEWAL • CONFIDENCE Good evening, and welcome to DailyPrayer.uk. I’m Reverend Ben Cooper. Thank you for ending this day with me. Before the night unfolds, let’s pause together, open God’s Word and quietly entrust ourselves to the faithful care of God. The demands of today have now come to an end. Some moments have brought joy, others have stretched our hearts and there may still be questions waiting for tomorrow. Yet tonight, we are invited to stop striving, loosen our grip on everything we cannot control and settle into the quiet assurance that the Lord will sustain us through the night. Our rest is not earned by having a perfect day; it is received as a gift from a faithful Father. Psalm 3:5 (NIV) “I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.” What a beautiful promise to carry into this evening. Every new morning is evidence of God’s continuing faithfulness. While our bodies rest, He gently renews our strength, refreshes our hearts and prepares us for another day of walking with Him. We do not place our confidence in tomorrow itself; we place our confidence in the God who will be with us when tomorrow arrives. So tonight, let’s gently remind ourselves that fear will not win, because Jesus Christ faithfully sustains us through the night and lovingly awakens us with new mercy. Father, thank You for carrying us through another day. Thank You for every blessing we recognised, every kindness we received and every unseen way Your grace has sustained us when we did not even realise it. Lord Jesus, bless every listener tonight. Bring healing to those who are unwell, comfort to those who feel lonely, deep rest to weary minds and renewed strength to everyone who needs a fresh beginning tomorrow. Help us release today’s efforts and receive tonight’s peace with grateful hearts. Holy Spirit, renew our minds as we sleep, restore what has become weary within us and prepare us to rise with fresh confidence in Your unfailing love. Across the world, from Hobart to Hamilton, from Singapore to Dallas and Buenos Aires, may every listener rest peacefully tonight and awaken tomorrow strengthened by the sustaining grace of God. still. I know it's bedtime, I know it's really late, but we're gonna jump straight in to Psalms 3 verse 5. This is the title of the prayer, but stay with me. Come on, let's pray. Let's never ever give up. This is the title of this late night devotional prayer time together. I lay down and sleep. Lord, it is easy to say, it is easy to read. But Lord, help us to lay down and to find a place of

Releasing Pressure And Racing Thoughts

rest. Lord, life is really busy. Family, life, relationships, work, financial pressure, work pressure, educational pressure, running the home pressure. Lord, we pray for the homemaker right now. Lord, that you will bless every homemaker. Lord that you will bless them from the crown of their head to the sole of their feet. Those that just feel run ragged, looking after the family, the friends. Holy Spirit, I pray, Lord, that you will bless every one of us in the name of Jesus. But wherever we are right now, help us to close our eyes on today. Help us to leave and to lose that grip, dear God, on life itself. Father, help us to let go of these suitcases. Lord, we are carrying so much weight. We're carrying pressure. And Lord, when we lay down and when we lie down, Lord, we can't switch off. Lord, my mind won't switch off. My mind, dear God, is active. Lord, it's like a firework display. Lord, there are rockets exploding in the midnight hour. Lord, I pray that you will help my cognitive processing. Lord, I pray, Lord, for every area of our mind and our brain. Lord, that you will control it and slow it down. Father, help us to let go and to let

God. But right now, Lord, we pray for three areas of our lives. Lord, we're looking for more rest. We are looking for a renewal and Lord, we are looking for confidence. So these three areas rest, renewal, and confidence, as we stretch out live from London, England, all the way, dear God, from this studio, Lord, as we cross across the world right now to Hamilton, Singapore, Dallas, Buenos Aires, all the way to Nigeria, Mexico City. Lord, we're looking for the love of God all the way around to Australia. Lord, pour out your spirit, every culture, every tribe, every language, every colour, whatever our postcode is, wherever we live, spirit of the living God, we are tired and we are weary. And at the end of the day, we come to Jesus Christ. And yes, tonight, Lord, we want to feel that invitation. Lord, we want to feel that invitation coming out of that beautiful book of Matthew 11, 28. Come to me, all of you that are weary and laden, and I will give you rest. Lord, it's been a stretch of a day, it's been a stretch of an hour, it's been a stretch of a week, it's been a stretch of a life, Lord, and our bodies are really tired. Lord, we've got battle fatigue, we've got work fatigue, relationship fatigue, we got life fatigue. Lord, we don't want to capture the rhythm of the social media. Lord, we don't want to look at what the world is doing. We want to look at what Jesus is calling us to. And Lord, I pray at this midnight hour, at this late hour, help us to lay down and to rest. Lord, I need to let go and to let God. Lord, as the curtains close on another day, as we turn the key on another day, help us to close the laptop lid and just to breathe and say, Father, will you lead us in paths of righteousness? Lord, I pray, Lord, that we will hear the Lion of Judah. Lord, give us that rest. Help us to rest tonight.

A Bedtime Blessing For Sweet Sleep

SPEAKER_00

Lord, as we climb into bed, Lord, as we declutter ourselves, as we wipe the makeup off, as we wipe the day away. Holy Spirit, Lord, as we get ready, our Holy Spirit, I ask you, help us to sleep tonight. And Lord, from the four corners of heaven. Lord, let the wind of heaven blow down the corridor of our lives. Lord, I pray that our sleep will be sweet, because the Lord is sustaining each and every one of us. And Lord, wherever we are, help us to close our eyes in peace and to rest well tonight. I pray that the love of God will reveal Himself to you and just remind yourself that angels have been deployed over your life because God cares for you. You are grafted into the vine. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. So Lord, I thank you as I stop striving, I loosen my grip on today, on the area of my life that I cannot control. So Lord, as I pray together, as we walk together, Father, take full charge of our lives. Help us to let go and to let God wherever

you are. Don't ever give up. And just remind yourself right now, fear will never win. Will you join me for the early morning prayer tomorrow before the first light of dawn?
