SPEAKER_00:

Welcome to Daily Prayer with myself, Reverend Ben Cooper, recorded live here in London, England, where the world gathers for five minutes of faith, hope, and strength. The love of God is over your life, and wherever you are, I pray that the power of the Holy Spirit will sustain you and carry you in Jesus' name. We're still in December and there is a lot of pressure, but we're going to pray for comfort, for loneliness, grief, and again that empty chair at Christmas. It keeps coming up. We're praying for that empty chair at Christmas, whether your family's there or whether they're not there, there is always an empty chair. There are always memories from historical events, families, loved ones, friends, family breakdown, life situations occur, all that sort of stuff. But let's pray. Father, in the name of Jesus, we believe that Psalms 34, verse 18 is for each and every one of us. Lord, we pray for comfort for loneliness. We're asking for grief to go. And the empty chair at Christmas to bring peace to our lives. Father, we believe in the word of God. And as we pray, Psalms 34, verse 18, the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those that are crushed in spirit. Lord, for those uncountable brothers and sisters that are crushed in spirit. We ask you, Lord, right now, that you will be close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Lord, we're praying for the brokenhearted. We're praying for those that are weary and tired and lonely. We're praying that grief will go and the empty chair at Christmas, Father, won't be so painful now in the name of Jesus. We need comfort from loneliness. Lord, there are many of us in despair at this season. And Lord, we believe that Revelation 21, verse 4 is for us. Lord, will you wipe every tear from our eyes? Lord, not only are we crying externally, but we're crying from within. We are missing loved ones, we're missing friends, anniversaries and loss, and emotional weight of the empty seat at Christmas. And Lord, we pray as loneliness rises, as fear rises, as the missing of loved ones rise, we come to you and we say, Thank you, Jesus. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray for every listener that is facing that empty chair. Draw close to those, Lord, that feel an ache of absence. An ache of absence. The heavy memory, the power of grief, the quietness of grief, the overwhelming power of grief. Holy Spirit, bring comfort where tears are flowing. Strength where there are weak hearts tonight. Where there is fraudity, bring hope. Lord, bring light to darkness. Whisper in those areas of discouragement. Bring that hope today. Lord, let the presence of God permeate through every listener, everybody, wherever they are today. And we're praying, dear God, for comfort in loneliness. We're asking God that you will lift grief, you will lift pain, the empty chair at Christmas, that you will speak to us, Lord, and the love of God will be the fragrance of heaven. Lord, wherever we are gathering, from the battlefield to the boardroom, from the boardroom, dear God, to the field of life, from the field of life to life itself, we need an outpouring of your glory, and we need the love of Jesus. And Lord, will you touch our hearts today? Will you strengthen us today? Will you wipe tears away from those eyes? Will you carry those hearts that are in pain today? Lord, I want my pain to go. I want freedom. Lord, I want to feel your nearness. I want to feel your presence. I want to feel your faithfulness. I want healing from emotional wounds. Lord, these steady, trembling thoughts carry each of our hearts tonight. Bring gentleness and hope. Bring us to a place because we want clean hands and a pure heart. Lord, we want gentleness and we want hope. We want, dear God, peace in our lives. We want rest and we want this fatigue to go. So Lord, I ask you for the loneliness at Christmas that it will go, that comfort will abound. The empty chair, the empty chair at Christmas will be filled with the love of Jesus Christ and peace in your wonderful name. You are the Lion of Judah. You are the great I Am. Jehovah Jirah, Jehovah Nissi. Until tomorrow. May the Spirit of the Lord bless you. God loves you, you know. You are not on your own. God loves you. Follow us on social media at dailyprayer.uk. God bless.
