Luke 9 : 23 — Midday Prayer for Strength & Resilience in Following Jesus Christ

12 P.M. Release — Recorded live here in London, England — from London to Kathmandu, from Kathmandu to Accra, from Accra to Toronto — as the world pauses, disciples everywhere renew their “yes” to Jesus Christ.

Scripture (NIV)

“Then he said to them all: ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.’” — Luke 9 : 23 (NIV)

Show Notes

The invitation of Jesus Christ is simple and strong: Follow Me. Yet millions today search “how to follow Jesus,” “prayer for strength to keep going,” and “faith when life is hard.” Luke 9 : 23 reminds us that discipleship is not occasional — it is daily, continual, powerful through grace.

From London to Kathmandu, Accra to Toronto, believers carry the cross that leads to freedom. The world says “protect yourself,” but Christ says “surrender.” The path of following Him is narrow but filled with peace. Every yes to Jesus breaks the grip of fear and builds a stronger faith.

This midday we pray for resilience in weary hearts, for courage to keep following when the road feels steep, and for the joy of knowing that Jesus Christ walks with us every step.

I just want to give God the glory right now for each and every one of you. Thank you for downloading. Thank you for listening to my voice. Thank you for staying with me. Thank you, dear God, that you're you're partnering with us in prayer, in hope, in all ways. And may God bless you today. Brothers and sisters, I pray that you will find the resilience and the strength to keep following Jesus Christ. It's really critical. We are in prayer at this moment in time. I am not wasting any time. We are literally in prayer right now because I'm praying that God will give you the resilience and the wisdom and the strength to keep pressing into Jesus Christ. Lord, through this prayer moment, I pray for the listeners, I pray for their hearts, I pray for their eyes, that they will look to Jesus, they will listen to the word of God, and they will seek Jesus Christ with their heart, their mind, their body, their soul. Father, I pray that you will give them resilience, Lord, and you will give them the capabilities, and dear God, you will give them the wisdom, God, and you will give them the tenacity, Lord, that they will find, Lord God, that they've just got to follow Jesus. I pray, Father, as we live and sit and walk in the end days, I ask you, dear God, that you will give the listeners strength today, the resilience to be Bible-believing believers, that they will stand on the word of God. Lord Jesus, we know that you are coming back. We know that you are coming back for each and every one of us. And Lord, we need help today. We need your love, we need your mercy. And today, Lord, wherever we are walking, whatever our lives, whatever we are doing, I ask you, Father God, that Luke 9, 23 will be over our lives. Lord, we need stability, we need hope, and we need love. So therefore, reading from the NIV, coming from the Gospel of Luke, chapter 9, verse 23. Then he said to them, Whoever wants to be my disciples must deny themselves, take up their cross daily and follow me. Lord, this is a sticky one for me. Father, Lord, through this prayer time, Lord, God, oh Jesus, please, Lord, how do I deny myself, Father, when the world is pressing me? Lord, how do we do this? Lord, we need help, Father. Lord, I need strength. Lord, you've got to intervene in my life, our lives. Lord Jesus, calm into our hearts today. Lord, I want to follow you. I want to be a Jesus Father, Lord. How do I follow Jesus? Lord, pray. We're praying for strength to keep going. Lord, the road is hard. We're tired. We're weary. Lord, the funds have gone. Lord, the mental health is rising. I'm scared. I'm worried about life, God. I've lost my identity. I've lost me. Help me, Jesus. Lord, give me the strength to keep going in the word of God. Lord, I ask you, Father God, help us, Lord. Faith when life is hard. Help us to find faith when life is hard. Help us, help me to keep in the word of God. Lord, you tell us that to be disciples, Father, we've got to have discipline. Lord, and it's not occasional when we want. Lord, every day I've got to deny myself. I've got to pick up this cross. I've got to leave everything around me. Lord, give me divine grace to keep moving in the arms of Jesus. Lord, will you carry us today? Lord, it's scary. Lord, we ask you wherever we are in the name of Jesus Christ. Right away from Russia to China, from China, dear God, to Australia. Right away, dear God, around Asia and the Middle East. Father, bless every tribe, every tongue. Lord, we need Jesus Christ. Lord, we are crying out. Lord, there are uncountable people crying to you now, listening to my voice. Father, we need help. Father, will you protect us? Lord, make a way. God, this gets really emotional, Jesus. Lord, you've got to help us, God. You've got to find help us, God. Lord, we're tired and we're weary. We need the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Give us the resilience to keep going. Give us the courage, Lord, to fight the good fight of faith. Bless the listeners from the crown of their head to the sole of their feet. Let the love of Jesus Christ be over them. Lord, bless the daily prayer family today, wherever they are, Lord. Bless them abundantly. Let them know their lives are okay. Let them know everything will be well. Keep them in the word of God. Keep them safe, Lord. Help us to keep walking for Jesus Christ. Lord, please. Please, God. The prayer is don't let us go, Jesus. Hold us tight, God. Hold us tight. My name's Reverend Ben Cooper. May God bless you and carry you. Until tomorrow. Never give up.
