Revelation 1 : 5 — National Prayer for Iraq: Peace, Healing & Hope Through Jesus Christ

6 P.M. Release — Recorded live here in London, England — from London to Baghdad, from Baghdad to Erbil, from Erbil to Cairo — as the day closes, we lift the nation of Iraq to Jesus Christ, the Faithful Witness and Ruler of kings on earth.

Scripture (NIV)

“…and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood.” — Revelation 1 : 5 (NIV)

Show Notes

For decades Iraq has known conflict and division, yet beneath the headlines the Church still prays. Searches rise for “prayer for Iraq,” “peace in the Middle East,” and “hope for nations.” This verse reminds us that Jesus Christ is not a distant observer of history — He is Lord over it.

From London to Baghdad, Erbil to Cairo, believers lift the name of Jesus Christ over a land of ancient promise and present pain. His blood still speaks for mercy, His love still reaches those in ruins, and His authority still rules over every nation. Where fear has rooted deep, Christ’s peace will plant hope again.

Tonight we pray for peace in Iraq’s cities, healing for its people, protection for its believers, and revival that brings the light of Jesus Christ to every region.

SPEAKER_00:

Welcome to Daily Prayer with myself, Reverend Ben Cooper, recorded live here in London, England, where faith meets the world in daily devotion and global hope. This is your quick fired five minutes of prayer where we gather around the word of God to carry us through the rest of the day. Brother and sister, can you support this listener-funded ministry just by£3 a month on Buy Me a Coffee? Hit the link in the show notes below. Come on, we're going to jump straight in today. Support us, carry us, pray for us wherever you are. We are praying for a certain nation today, and the nation is Iraq. Well, dear God, I pray for Iraq right now. We pray for healing and peace through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. But right now, Lord, we believe in the Word of God, and as our brothers and sisters, we're all locking in right now, and we're going to pray for Iraq as it sees years and years of decay and conflict and division. We believe Revelation chapter 1, verse 5 is over Iraq today. Father, we thank you for this word of God coming from the NIV and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, the ruler of kings of the earth, to him who loves us, hallelujah. To him who loved us and has freed us from our sins by his blood. Father, we thank you that the blood of Jesus is over Iraq today. Lord, as the sun rises, as it's in the middle of the day, as the sun sets across the God's earth, dear God, known as Iraq. Father, we pray, Lord, as years of decades as Iraq has survived and come through and has experienced conflict and division. We pray that the breath of God will breathe down the church of Iraq. We pray right now, right now, right now, God, that the prayer for Iraq, Lord, it will move right now. There will be peace in the Middle East. Hope for the nations, Lord, that you will move for Iraq, every city, every town, every tribe, every tongue, that the blood of Jesus still carries mercy. He still loves everyone that is living in Iraq. We pray for Iraq to be saved now. That Iraq will be washed in the blood of Jesus. We pray for the authorities. We pray for the nation. We pray, dear God, for every area of life within the borders of Iraq. Lord, that you will move in such a powerful way. We pray for the cities, healing for the people, protection over the believers right now. We ask for revival. Revival to bring the light of Jesus Christ to every region of Iraq. Lord, we are asking for peace and healing in Iraq, unity through Jesus Christ, comfort for families that are going through grief, restoration of broken communities, restore communities and homes. Lord, will you bless the leaders and the governors with wisdom? Lord, we believe that the church church, sorry, in Iraq is growing. We believe that the kingdom is moving. We believe that there is salvation over Iraq at this hour. And we pray for the refugees that they will find a safe place through the word of God. We are asking for revival through the Holy Spirit. We believe that Iraq is experiencing hope and it is rising amid the despair and the fear and the doubt, and the Lord God is with thee. We pray that Jesus Christ is moving right now. He reigns in war-torn lands and regions that have been devastated by war. Oh my Lord, please, Jesus, we ask you right now, we want to make a public declaration that Jesus Christ is Lord over Iraq. His peace heals their wounds, his love unites the people, and his kingdom reigns forever, and it has no end. Lord, let the Spirit of the living God be with everyone that lives in Iraq right now. We intercede for that nation. We believe it will be saved. We believe that the blood of Jesus is over Iraq tonight. Lord, as the sun rises, as the sun sets on everyone that is walking and living, traveling through Iraq right now, that they will know the love of Jesus Christ. And we pray for this nation. We pray for peace through Jesus Christ. As we ask you, dear God, this global prayer movement, we come before you hope for the nations in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We believe in the love of God. And Lord, we ask you, dear God, as we read out that scripture, Revelations 1, verse 5, we pray for such an outpouring of your spirit over that nation. They will know Jesus Christ wherever they are, Lord God. From London to Baghdad, Lord, we pray that you will move all the way through Cairo. Let the Spirit of the Lord be over them today and bless them from the crown of their head to the sole of their feet. We believe that Iraq is bloodwashed, sanctified, and Iraq belongs to Jesus Christ. Until tomorrow, stay blessed!
