Colossians 1 : 15-20 — Midday Prayer for Confidence When Doubt and Fear Rise in Jesus Christ

12 P.M. Release — Recorded live here in London, England — from London to Istanbul, from Istanbul to Lusaka, from Lusaka to Toronto — as the world pauses in the middle of the day, we lift our eyes to Jesus Christ, who holds all things together.

Scripture (NIV)

“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible… all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” — Colossians 1 : 15-17 (NIV)

Show Notes

Midday often magnifies pressure — decisions, doubts, distractions. Searches rise for “prayer when I’m anxious,” “trusting God in fear,” and “confidence in Jesus.” Colossians 1 reminds us that the world doesn’t spin on worry — it’s sustained by Christ.

From London to Istanbul, Lusaka to Toronto, hearts steady as this truth settles in: everything visible and invisible belongs to Him. Your life, your future, your unknowns are all in His hands. Fear loses strength when you remember who holds the frame of the universe — and your own heart within it.

Today we pray for faith to replace anxiety, for strength to keep standing, and for peace to flow through every place that feels unstable.

This is one of those scriptures that all of a sudden just starts to rise through the fabric of what's happening around the world. We're in prayer right now. We're in prayer at this very moment, and I pray that God will give you confidence when doubt, when doubt starts to rise, you will find confidence. I pray that you will pray like you've never prayed before. I pray that you will find when fear rises, when fear rises, that you will find that the Holy Spirit will lead you to peace. May the Spirit of the Lord be over you wherever you are. This is what the scripture says, coming from the book of Colossians, chapter 1, verse 15 through to 17, coming from the NIV. The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created, things in heaven and things on earth, visible and invisible, all things that have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Father, we thank you that you hold all things together. When doubts arise, when decisions are difficult, when we got the distractions of the world. Trust God in fearful moments. Lord, I want confidence in Jesus. I believe in this book, Colossians 1, it reminds me, it reminds us that the world doesn't spin on worry. It is sustained by Jesus Christ. Lord, when I think about the word of God, your word tells us that you breathed and spoke everything into existence. So Lord, you are the God above all gods. You are the king above all kings. So Lord, my little worries of my own little life are nothing. But Lord, they're still worries to me, Jesus. They still get me down, they still trample me down some days, Lord. And Lord, I need to learn to walk in faith. Will you help me walk in faith, Jesus? Lord, I need courage to trust in God. Lord, the prayer for anxiety, Lord, you know I suffer with anxious thoughts. You know, dear God, I get anxious and I get fearful of life. So Lord, will you help me? Will you help every one of us today, Lord, to be bold? Lord, I thank you, Lord, that we are learning, we are moving in faith today. Give our hearts, Lord, that steadiness, that stability that we require. We pray for those, dear God, that are worried about life and life itself. We believe Jesus is our life. We believe you are the truth. You are the way. Dear God, we believe that Jesus Christ is the way to the kingdom of God. We believe that the cross, Father, we thank you that Jesus endured the cross. But Lord, we need confidence in Christ Jesus, faith to overcome fear, strength when we're feeling weak and really scared of life. Lord, in these uncertain days, will you strengthen us in these dark seasons? Lord, as we are watching the seasons of winter, of spring, of summer arise in the nations that we live. Lord, give us grace. Give us grace and mercy, not to be fearful of the dark evenings, Lord, and the dreary days that go by. But Lord, I pray that you will give us stability. Lord, when everything else slips away out of our hands, we thank you that Jesus Christ holds it together. Lord, when everything else falls apart in our lives, we thank you that Jesus Christ is holding it together. Lord, when I try and make things work and it all drops out of the bucket of life, Lord, I thank you that Jesus Christ holds it all together. Because all things are before you. All things only exist because of you. Because you are the king above all kings. You are the God above all gods. And at this midnight hour, if we're struggling with fear and doubt, Lord, I pray that we will find holy inspiration. Lord, I pray that divine, the divine mercy of God will drop on our shoulders now. But Lord, as we carry on work, as we live life and we do what we do, Father, we thank you that when it fouls around us, God is sharpening us. So Father, bless the listeners from the crown of their head to the sole of their feet. Let them feel the love of Jesus Christ in their life like never before. Give them confidence today. Let them pray powerfully in the name of Jesus. May God bless you until tomorrow. My name's Reverend Ben Cooper. Stay blessed.
