Scripture (NIV):
“This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.’” — Matthew 6 : 9 (NIV)
Recorded live here in London, England — Reverend Ben Cooper opens this series with a powerful teaching on how to pray and recognise the voice of God.
Show Notes
Prayer begins with relationship, not ritual. When Jesus said, “Our Father in heaven,” He revealed that God desires intimacy, not distance. Reverend Ben Cooper guides listeners into a biblical understanding of how to pray and hear God’s voice through reverence and listening. To say “Hallowed be Your name” is to worship before we petition. It is to let praise set the tone for conversation with the Creator. In a noisy world, this holy pause restores clarity and opens the heart to divine direction. Prayer is a two-way exchange — earth speaks, heaven answers, and peace enters.

Thank you for joining us today on a daily Christian prayer podcast. Myself, Reverend Ben Cooper, recorded live here in London, England, for our quick fired, five-minute time of prayer where we're going to bring encouragement, peace, and biblical truth into everyday life situation. Thank you so much for your prayers. Your prayers are absolutely critical. If you can, please leave us a review. Also, we really require your reviews and uh what you say about us. That's really important to us. And also, thank you to everybody that is considering and prayerfully thinking about supporting this ministry just by three pounds a month, three pounds sterling a month on buy us a coffee. May the Lord bless you and carry you. We thank you so much for those that send messages in and prayers. And if you need prayers, please push us up and find us on uh rbchristianradio.net and you just send us an email and uh we'll get them prayers into the into the area of prayer. You know, they're very private, very confidential, and all that sort of stuff that goes with that. So please, if you need prayer, please send them in and we will reply as quickly as we possibly can to you. But thank you for joining us. Come on, let's just jump straight in. I really believe that we're living in a time, we're living in times when we're waiting for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. But I also really believe from the bottom of my heart that we are literally, you know, looking for answers like we've never looked before in areas of life. I believe that there are so many of us stretched beyond stretch. We feel like we're elastic band about to just snap. But I want to tell you now, I've got to encourage you now, keep your prayer life going. Even though it looks like, even though it looks like nothing is happening, it doesn't matter if it's a week or a year, you keep praying because we can't see behind the vow, and God is working behind the vow, and God is leading and God is moving. Your prayers are being heard. Sometimes it feels like God has zipped up the sleeping bag of heaven and we're not getting through. But let's get straight and we're going to the only prayer that the King gave us, and that's coming from the Gospel of Matthew chapter 6. Let's pray. Father, in the name of Jesus, we thank you for today. So, Lord, will you help us to pray? Will you help us to speak the word of God over our lives? Lord, I want you to teach us to pray. And right now, Lord, I pray that every one of us will hear your voice, that every one of us will feel the love of God, the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives, that we will, dear God, will walk in your goodness, your mercy, and your favor. But Lord, we want to hear the voice of God. We know, dear God, that these prayers, Father, are getting through. We know these prayers are making a way where there seems to be no way. But our Heavenly Father, hallowed be thy name. We thank you that your name is holy. We thank you that you are divine. Lord, and we want to go into a deeper relationship with the Father, Lord, through our prayer life, and I pray for every listener, every ear that is listening right now, everyone, Lord, that is searching across Spotify, Apple, iHeartRadio, across all the platforms, however they're listening to my voice, I pray that every one of us will go into a deeper walk with you in our prayer life. Because, Lord, I come to realize, Father, that it's not worship, Lord, it's not preaching, it's not the teaching, Lord, it is actually prayer that comes first. So as I seek you through prayer, Lord, I thank you that prayer is first and foremost. And Lord, I understand that prayer suddenly breaks into true worship. So Lord, I pray that each and every one of us that we will worship in spirit and in truth. And Lord, I ask you right now for every listener, Lord, wherever they are across the world, that we will feel the fire of God, the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. But right now, Lord, as we come to you, you tell us this is how we should pray. Our Father in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Your name is holy, your your name is beautiful, your name, Father God, is beyond human understanding. And Lord, as we take the name, as we pray the name, our Father in heaven, come, Holy Spirit, will you stir us today, Lord? Will you enrich our lives? We want a deeper and a more meaningful walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. Father, as we recall this live here in London, England, we are expecting, Lord, a relationship to grow. Lord, with no rituals, with no bouncing up and down, with no shouting, with no hollering, with no uh stuff that goes on in religion and on Sunday mornings in church. Lord, we're gonna take this word and we're gonna believe in this word. And Father, there is no distance. Lord, I want to tell the listeners today that there is no distance between themselves and you. You are close to the brokenhearted. Father, that there is no distance between them and you, and you are walking with them. So, Lord, we claim the name today, our Father. Lord, we thank you that this determines intimacy, an intimate walk with you. Our Father in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Lord, give us more understanding in prayer as we come to you, as we worship and adore you, Lord, as we sit in the throne room of grace, Lord, you tell us that you've made a way, Lord. You've made a way in his name is Jesus. And Father, we come to Jesus right now. Jesus, you clearly tell us, Lord, through the word that you are the way, the truth, the life. No one comes to the Father except through thee. And right now, Lord, through the noise, through the chaos, through the through everything that is going on, all the pots that are clanging, Lord, all the the noise around us, Father, all the rattle of life, Father, we pray that you will close the rattle out and we won't have the noise of the world, but we will find holy peace, that we'll be able to pause and be still and be restored right in the middle of the valley of the shadow of death. Lord, that we will be able to find restoration. And as we come to you through this powerful prayer, we believe that we got a deeper walk with the Father. We believe that we're hearing the voice of God. Lord, that there is no distraction, there is no distance between us and you. Lord, we are in true spirit and we are in true worship when we're in prayer. Father, let your reverency, your holiness, Lord, be felt by our heart today. Lord, give us clarity to the listeners, Lord, as we listen to the word of God, as we pray together, as we stand together, Lord. I ask you that you will move, Lord, that there will be restoration with our first love, the Lord Jesus Christ, that we will feel and know that we are united. But Lord, I want to make this a public declaration. I want to make it a life application to my sisters, my church family, my brothers and sisters across the world, Lord, as we lock shields of faith, Lord, as we say this together, Lord, let my day begin with our Father. Lord, let my day begin with our Father. And Lord, I acknowledge your holiness, Lord, and I wait in the silence. Lord, I'm not listening to the noise of the devil, I'm not listening to the noise of social media, I'm not listening to the noise of my phone, the email account. I'm not listening to the noise of the world. Lord, I'm gonna wait patiently for the Lord. And I thank you, Lord. Lord, I come to you right now with my brothers and sisters. We lock shields of hope. We stand on the word of God and Father, from the areas of life, Father, from the battlefield to the boardroom, Lord, there is no distance between us and you. That we are connected and we are grafted in. We thank you for the Lord's prayer. And Lord, as we learn to pray, Lord, will you teach us? This is then how you should pray. Our Father, hallowed be thy name. Father, we thank you for this prayer. And I pray that you will bless all the listeners today, wherever they are across the world. Thank you for joining me today. My name's Reverend Ben Cooper. May the Lord bless you and keep you until tomorrow.
