When Government Contradicts God: A Biblical Perspective on Spiritual Authority (#115)Elim
Drawing from Daniel chapter 3, this powerful message examines the courageous example of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who refused to bow to King Nebuchadnezzar’s golden image despite facing the fiery furnace. Their faith and conviction speak directly into the challenges Christians face today, where cultural expectations and political pressures often demand our allegiance in ways that contradict the Word of God.
The tension between Romans 13—teaching that “God establishes authorities”—and the believer’s responsibility to follow Christ first creates a challenging but important dilemma. As Reverend Ben Cooper boldly puts it, “God puts government in place, but then He gives us free will.” This is not a call to lawlessness, but a reminder that when human authority collides with divine command, our obedience must belong to Jesus above all.
This message speaks into our divided world. Across nations and communities we see division by color, by finances, by postcodes, by schools, and even within churches. Yet the call of Christ cuts through the noise: “Am I going to follow Muppets on that side, or am I going to follow the ones that throw axes on that side? Who am I going to follow? I’m going to follow Jesus.”
Through biblical exposition and practical application, the sermon challenges us to examine where we may have compromised with modern idols. These idols may not take the shape of golden statues, but they appear in ideologies, institutions, and systems that marginalize God’s truth. From education systems that push Christian perspectives aside to churches that drift from biblical foundations, each believer is called to make a choice about where their loyalty truly lies.
The message culminates with communion, reminding us that in Christ we discover unity that transcends political divides, denominational labels, or social barriers. At the Lord’s table, we are one body, united by the cross. This unity is not found in cultural identity or human authority but in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Wherever you stand politically or denominationally, this prophetic word will encourage you not to “conform to the pattern of this world” but to stand firm in biblical truth. It will strengthen your resolve to endure fiery trials with faith and to declare, like the three Hebrews, “Even if God does not rescue us, we will not serve your gods.”
This timely message is a call to courage, conviction, and uncompromising devotion. Above all else, it is a call to follow Jesus.

Speaker 2:Let's look up, brothers and sisters. Let's give some attention to the word. It's really, really important, the word, you know. The word is everything. We are living in a nation that is divided Colour, finances, postcode, schools, church. We have got division like we've never seen it before. And there is that topic that is out there. We've got flags all over the place. You know We've got everything happening. You know all that sort of stuff. Don't get caught. Don't get caught. Be very, very careful. Watch the left, watch the right, watch the front, watch the back, watch every party.
Speaker 2:Now, the Bible is extremely clear what it says about government. God puts government and authorities in place. God puts government and authorities in place. But let me just take us to the book of Daniel, chapter 3. Daniel, chapter 3 we have got to be extremely careful. If the government that God has put in place Told you to go and jump off a cliff, would you do it? If the government in place right now Told you to go and put your head in an oven, would you do that? So why are we following a government that doesn't know Jesus Christ? God puts them in place, but then he gives us what Free will? He gives us free will. Now, am I going to follow the Looney Tunes or am I going to follow the Muppets on that side? Or am I going to follow the ones that throw axes on that side? Who am I going to follow, the Muppets on that side, or am I going to follow the ones that throw axes on that side? Who am I going to follow? I'm going to follow Jesus.
Speaker 2:Paul makes it clear in the book of Acts you're telling me to stop preaching the gospel through. You don't want me. The Sanhedrin, the area. We've got it through the scripture. God puts government in place. I'm not debating that. I'm not telling you. It's not true. I'm telling you because the Bible tells us in Romans, chapter 13,. It tells us that God puts authority in place and we've got to submit to the authority only if they're following God. That is the criteria. If you've got a government in your nation or your land, that is telling you that you can marry a man or you can marry a woman and a woman, are you going to go against God's word? No, I ain't. So I'm not going to conform to the pattern of the world.
Speaker 2:This is where biblical wisdom is needed across the world like never before. Color is dividing, church is dividing, age is dividing, postcode is dividing, flags are dividing. Let me tell you there is a cross across the world that brings unity. Political drive will bring division. Religion will bring division. We have.
Speaker 2:We have never seen class layers of church across the uk like we've seen it now. We have got class layers, and you are not going to say it because I want to stay online, but you've only got to study for five minutes online. And look at the audience in certain churches. Look at the audience. There are class layers. Look at the cars in the car park. Look at all the stuff that's going on. There are class layers. The Bible tells us to sell everything you you got to give to the poor and to surrender yourself to Jesus. Brothers and sisters, we're living in a time where we've got to be wise.
Speaker 2:Now we're going to the book of Daniel. We're in the book of Daniel and we're looking at three young men that stood up for their belief, remembering what the book says God puts authority in place. God puts government in place. If the king of England jumped on his balcony in his little PJs or his onesie and he shouted across the airways, I want you all in this nation to stop following Jesus Christ of Nazareth? What would you do? Would you do that because God has put him in place, or would you be a Meshach, shamrach and Abednego and go, take your onesie and get out in the name of Jesus? If the government in number 10 Downing Street they've already done it If the government in number 10 Downing Street starts working through Ofsted and all that starts erasing Jesus out of education, are you going to allow your children to be taught every other demonic force or are you going to stand up for Jesus?
Speaker 2:Are you going to allow your children to go to school and hear every other demonic religion and not talk about Jesus? It's interesting. What's going to happen at the nativity? No doubt what's going to happen at the nativity. We're going to have Mary be a bloke this year, no doubt. You know we'll have everything going, and that's in the Church of England schools. Are you going to allow?
Speaker 2:Okay, let's look at the Church of England schools a minute. Let's look at some things. Let's get right to the knuckle, because if I'm going to get in trouble, the Church of England schools, some Church of England schools. I want to send my children to the faith school because they're going to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ. But on Thursday afternoon they're going to send a man in that's got hands like shovels and he's got a beard and he's going to come in as a transvestite and he's going to teach my children. But that's a church school.
Speaker 2:So because it's a church school, am I going to follow the school? Am I going to allow the state church to tell me that man can marry man and woman can marry woman? Because, because that's what they're doing? So god has put government in place, but then it comes to free will. Am I going to allow myself to dance to king nebuchadnezzar or am I going to say I'm not bowing to your gods?
Speaker 2:This is where we need the holy word of God in our lives like never before. This is where we need clear understanding in government. Where are you putting your tick? Where are you putting your ex when you go to vote? Who are you going to follow? Who are you going to put your name to? Who are you going to follow? I ain't following no one. I ain't following no one. I'm following Jesus.
Speaker 2:I'm not going to follow any government that is telling me to do the opposite of Jesus Christ. If the government was all for God, if the government was all for God. Thank you, jesus, I'm going to follow that. But if the government is allowing children to go to school and identify as a cat or a Furby or a dog and that's real, that's real, by the way, if the government allow that and the government shake the hand with the Church of England and say, yeah, thanks for marrying men and men, yeah, thank you. Hallelujah, god bless you.
Speaker 2:Let me tell you this there is judgment coming to this nation. There is judgment coming to this nation and it will start first with the church. It will start first with the church. It will start first with the church. So, am I going to follow number 10? Am I going to follow religion? Am I going to follow? And? We got all the do-gooders out there now sending me emails and texts telling me I've got to follow what? The government? I'm not going to follow, a government that is not following my king, because when I get home to glory I don't want the big man upstairs to go away from me.
Speaker 2:But, god, I've done 1,500 podcasts. I don't care what you've done in your studio, ben. Did you follow me? Did you really follow me, son? But God, I preached for years and years and you didn't preach the message, son, but God, I put my church teeth in every Sunday. I'm not bothered about your church teeth, but, jesus, I gave myself to you all these years. No, you didn't give yourself to me, you gave yourself to a building.
Speaker 2:Jesus is looking for what he's looking for that radical Bible-believing believer that goes God bless the government. But, lord, I ain't following them. Muppets, I ain't dancing to the Muppets tune. I'm not going to allow my children to be taught that at school. I'm not going to allow that to happen. Lord, I'm not going to allow that because I've got free will and the power of free will is to follow the gospel of hope.
Speaker 2:So God put government in place and he is doing that through the scripture. It tells us in Romans. He tells us clearly that God put authority in position. But we find in areas of the scripture where we have to go. I'm not following that because it's not following my God. So just because God put it in place doesn't mean to say it's right. Yes, we should submit, but there comes a point when submission to Lucifer can't go on. The Bible makes it clear in the book of Acts God first. The Bible makes it clear in the book of Acts God first, god first, god first. If the authority is not for God, it is a no brainer. There is a scripture in the word that tells us if the government is trying to take us away from Jesus Christ, we have to stand up for the truth.
Speaker 2:Now let's read about three young men that would not allow. Now remember who put this person in kingship God. Who put the satraps around? Who put all this together? It was God. Now let's see what happened. We're going to pick this up in Daniel, chapter 3, verse 12.
Speaker 2:We're in verse 12 and it said there were some Jews whom you have sent over the affairs of the province of Babylon, shamrach, meshach and Abednego who pay no attention to you. See, they're not paying attention to the devil's tongue. They're not paying no attention to you, oh King. Now we've got the bootlickers. Oh, I nearly said the wrong one. Then We've got the bootlickers. We've got many bootlickers. Tell yourself there are many bootlickers in politics. There are many backstabbers and bootlickers in religion, many bootlickers and backstabbers on social media.
Speaker 2:Here we go. Who pay no attention to you, o King? They neither serve your gods. What does it say? They serve not your gods. So does this government tell us to serve Jesus or to serve other gods? What does the government tell us? We've got to be a multi-faith nation, so we got to serve their gods. I ain't serving no other god, I'm serving jesus. I ain't serving no other god, I'm following jesus. Then it says pay no attention to you whatsoever. Oh, king, they neither serve your gods nor worship. Ah, here we go. Now. I cannot be found to be worshipping what the government are doing. If the government are worshipping God, I worship with the government. If the government are worshipping Lucifer, am I going to worship Lucifer? No, and it says they worship the image of gold that you have set up, furious with rage, good old Nebuchadnezzar.
Speaker 2:Nebuchadnezzar summoned Shamrach, meshach and Abednego. So these men were brought before the king. Who was the king? The king was King Nebuchadnezzar. Who put him in place? God, now we've got free will. Am I going to serve this king in the land that is worshipping the devil? Am I going to say no, I'm sorry, I ain't going to do it? What did they do? What did these three young men do? These are the examples we should be following. So these men were brought before the king and Nebuchadnezzar said to them is it true, shamr, flute, the lyre, the harp, the pipes and all kinds of music. Be careful of music. All kinds of music. The majority of music will take you to Lucifer. Be careful Music.
Speaker 2:If you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. What does the government want you to do in this nation? It wants you to leave Jesus roll over and comply. What does the Bible say? Do not conform to the pattern of the world. Okay, so we got the Old Testament running beautifully with the New Testament. So when we look at these scriptures and it says when you hear the sound of the flute, the lyre, the harp, blah, blah, blah, the pipes and all that and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the images I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, then you'll be thrown immediately into the blazing furnace. And then, uh, then what god will be able? He's got no faith in any God, has he? Because even the gods that they're serving, what God's going to be able to rescue you? So he don't even believe in the gods that he's talking about To rescue you from any hand.
Speaker 2:Shamrak, meshach and Abednego Replied to the king, so they are speaking up for what they believe in. They are speaking up about their belief, their belief. What do we believe today? And it says, they replied to the king, o Nebuchadnezzar we do not need to defend ourselves. Hallelujah Before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blaze inferno, then the god that we serve is able to save us from it, and if, uh, he will rescue us from your hand, oh king.
Speaker 2:But even if he does not, we want you to know I love this line, this is braggadocious, this is powerful. We want you to know, number 10, whatever happens, we're on our way to heaven. We want you to know, whoever you are flying the flags, that we are not going to worship your gods. We are not going to jump into a political divide, but we are going to serve our God. And it says and he will rescue us from your hand, o king. But even if he doesn't, we want you to know, o king, that we will not serve your gods and worship the image of gold you have set up, whatever happens. I am not bowing down to you if you are worshiping the devil. If you worship the devil, number 10, I'm out of your backyard in the name of Jesus. If you worship the devil, I'm out of your life. If you comply with what the Lucifer is saying, I'm going to follow Jesus.
Speaker 2:They're telling the king, they're telling the government, they're telling the satraps. They're telling everyone around them, just like Daniel. Just like Daniel said, he's telling the judges. He's telling everyone I will not stop praying. What does this government want? It wants a church that doesn't know how to pray. We've got a church that worships, but we don't really know what worship is, because worship will take you to a scatty place when you worship with certain types of music. But what the church wants, what, sorry, what the government want? They, just as they did in the book of daniel, all the way through it. If they can stop you praying, that's what they want and the church has lost, in many areas of the church, the understanding of what prayer is.
Speaker 2:I thank God that I'm in this church, that this prayer team in this church are fierce and literally don't come off the gas. I thank God that this prayer, this church, has been built on prayer from day one. This church is still on prayer Day one. Prayer is up the top of the table in everything that we do. Thank God that I can relax and do what I need to do, and the prayer team don't need me because it's not about. It's about prayer. Prayer is powerful, but what the government want to do, they want to stop the church believing in the power of prayer.
Speaker 2:When was the last time you heard your children speak about prayer at school, prayer is stopped, but if you carry a mat and you've got a beard, they'll let you talk about your prayer group. You can stop at three o'clock. Five o'clock you can face to McDonald's. I think they face that way. I'm not sure where they face when they pray. I can't say the word because I can say McDonald's but I can't say the other one. But you know what I mean the other little one that points to that certain point. I can't say it, I want to say it. You know what I'm saying. The beard men that's a good way. The way the beard men face at a certain time with their Ikea mat.
Speaker 2:Come on, we got to get radical in faith. We got to tell the world that we're Jesus followers. You got to tell the world, you got to tell the government I'm not bowing down to the false God that you're building. I'm not going to bow down to that foreign God. I'm not going to get caught in the multi-faith group. I'm going to exit the multi-faith group and I'm going to tell the world about Jesus. Bible believing chaplains at this moment have never faced a crisis like they're facing now because they are pushed to join to multi-faiths. You can't join a multi-faiths. You can't join a multi-faith group.
Speaker 2:God told the Israelites when you go into the promised land, the land of Canaan, do not copy what they're doing. God, we won't, we ain't going to do it. As soon as their flip-flops touched the sand of the shoreline, bosh, they was off. What was they doing? They was following the Canaanites, the Jebusites. They was living wildly and God said wait, don't copy them, be different. We got to be different. The spirit of the Lord is over you today, wherever you are. So here we have.
Speaker 2:Meshach, shamrach and Abednego are not bowing down to the authority that God put in place. Paul says don't bow down If the government is telling you to stop preaching. That's the key. If the government isn't for Matthew, mark, luke and John, if the government isn't telling education to preach Genesis, chapter one, they don't believe in the Bible. So if the government doesn't believe in the Bible, am I going to follow a government that doesn't believe in the Bible? No, this little pea brain of mine can work this out all on its own, that if a government that God put in place doesn't follow what he has told them to do because also, he has told them what to do they got instruction but they've come away from instruction. If you come away from instruction, you got a free for all.
Speaker 2:But God knew this was going to happen, because it's the plan of redemption. It's the end time harvest. It's the last push before the king comes out from the way that he went. You know God is coming back through the image of Christ. You know God is coming back through the image of Christ. Jesus. Christ is coming and what's going to happen? Is he going to beam me up, scotty? Am I going to still be laboring in the field? Do I know that I'm saved? Do I know that the blood of Jesus is over my life? Do I know that my name is in the Lamb's book of life? Am I more worried about what party is in number 10? My name has got to be in the book. My name has got to be in the book. My name has got to be in the book. Don't worry about the electoral roll. I've got to be in the book. I've got to be in the book because I'm telling you eternity is a long time, it's a long old stretch. Back in the Word.
Speaker 2:Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious verse 19, with Shamrach, meshach and Abednego, and his attitude towards them changed. The government will change towards you once you are starting to talk about the Word. When you start talking about the word of God, when you start talking about scripture, when you start telling the world that I am a born again spirit filled, blessed and highly favoured. I follow the word of God. I'm a radical Bible believing believer. They'll put you in a straitjacket, lock you away for the afternoon Because their attitude changes. The king changed when he realized that they was not going to be moved. When you tell the world I'm not going to move from my belief. I am not going to conform to what you are telling me out of your authority, from your desk. I am not going to conform to the pattern of that GDPR. I'm not going to conform to this. I'm not going to conform to that. I am not going to be tied down by rules and regulations from hell. I'm governed by the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, and I have a responsibility as a Bible believing believer to make my stand for Jesus. I said we don't need to. We don't need to do anything. So what do you mean? Make a stand, just tell the world I'm not bowing down. You ain't got to put the gloves on. You haven't got to jump in the arena of apologetics and try and show to the atheist world and the devils that Jesus is real. You don't need to prove anything to no one. Why are we trying to prove that Jesus is alive? We don't need to. All we've got to do is say I'm praying for you, I'm praying for you. I am not jumping on social media. I ain't got to prove that Jesus is alive. I haven't got to prove that the earth is only 6,500 years old. I ain't got to prove creation. I haven't got to prove anything because I know my God, I know my King and I'm not bowing down to the golden calf. I'm not going to stop praying. I'm going to pray no matter what the world says. I'm going to call the things that are not as though they are. I believe in the gospel of hope. Brother and sister, we are living at powerful times and he commanded some of the strongest soldiers let's pick it up. Let's pick it up in 19. For those that are online, we're in Daniel, chapter 3. For those that are in the house Daniel, chapter 3, verse 19. Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Meshach, shamrach and Abednego and his attitude changed towards them. He ordered the furnace to be turned up seven times. We know he got that number wrong because he got a biblical number. He got the number wrong, turned up seven times, hotter than usual. The hotter it is greater, god moves. The hotter it is greater god moves, the harder it is, god moves.
Speaker 2:Verse 20 and commanded some of the strongest soldiers in his army to tie up shamrak, meshach and abednego, thrown them into the blazing furnace. So these men wearing their robes, trousers, tunics and other clothings were bound and thrown into the blazing furnace. The king, the king's command was so urgent that the furnace was so hot. What happened? The furnace was so hot that the flames killed who? The devils? Don't worry about the devils. They can tie you up, but they can't take you off the earth. They can lock you down, but they can't take away your salvation. They can tie you up, they can throw you into whatever, but God, let's get a little bit further. Time is evaporating. And it says there Shamrak, meshach and Abednego, and these three men, firmly tied, fell into the blazing furnace.
Speaker 2:The king Nebuchadnezzar leapt to his feet in amazement and he asked the advisors weren't there three that we put in there that we threw into the fire? They replied certainly, o king. Certainly, o king. We put in there that we threw into the fire. They replied certainly, oh king, certainly, oh king. He said look, see even the government, see jesus. Let me tell you this loud and clear atheists see jesus, devils see jesus. People of other religions see Jesus. There was no church, there was no baptismal service, there was no prayer group. Jesus showed up. When you look at this scripture here, even the king that done what he done, see the holy glory. Let me tell you this loud and clear atheists know jesus, devils know jesus, kings know jesus. The scripture is allowed. Uh, loud and powerful.
Speaker 2:When the king leaped to his feet in amazement, he asked the advisors uh, wasn't there just three men in there? Uh, that we threw into the fire? They replied certainly, oh king. He said look, I see. I see now, something that we have here is more than we could ever get to at this moment in time. You have a king that was hell-bound. You have a king that all was for himself suddenly suddenly seeing the creator of heaven and earth, suddenly.
Speaker 2:So let me tell you, we haven't got to prove that god is real, we haven't got to jump in the world of apologetics, we ain't got to do nothing. God will show up in the fire and the enemy will see God. The enemy sees God when God is ready to reveal himself to them. See King Nebuchadnezzar. He never went to a baptismal service, he never done an alpha course, he never was prayed over. He was doing absolutely everything in his power to stop that nation serving God. He'd done everything in his power. The satraps, the governors, were doing everything in their power to stop the gospel being spread across the UK. They are doing everything they can, but God will reveal himself to them. All we got to do is tell the world about Jesus. So King Nebuchadnezzar sees what does he see?
Speaker 2:I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound, unharmed. The fourth looks like the son of God. Let me tell you Jesus will show up in your fire. Let me tell you this God will show up in your fire. Let me tell you this the Holy Spirit will turn up in your fire. Let me tell you this the politicians will see your God. The politicians will see your king. The foreigners that serve foreign gods, all that stuff that's out there that are worshipping foreign idols, and all that stuff, they will see your God. Everyone around the world will see the king that is a forerunner of Jesus Christ coming back to this world. Everyone will see Jesus. Every eye will see, every ear will hear. Let me tell you, wherever you are across the world, atheists, you're going to see Jesus. Let me tell you devil worshipers, you're going to see Jesus. Let me tell you witches, warlocks, whoever you are, you are going to see my king, because my king is going to show up In the fire that you try to put me in. You're going to see my God looking at you. Oh Jesus, there's so much to gather from this. We're running out of time. We're going to be clicking out in about 15 minutes.
Speaker 2:And then it says Nebuchadnezzar then approached and opened up the blazing furnace and shouted Shammach, meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High. Let me tell you, governments will call on the servant of the Most High. They're trying to tell you through education that Jesus isn't real. They're trying to tell you through the world that God isn't real. But when there comes a time, there's coming a time when every government, every politician, every leader across this world will recognize Jesus and they will say he's the king. They can't deny it. We've got it loud and proud before our very eyes Come out. He said so. Shamrock, meshach and Abednego came out of the fire. And the satraps, the prefects here we have all the government order here. This is government. The satraps, the prefects, the governors and the royal advisors are crowded around him. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their head singed. Their robes were not scorched and they had no smell of fire on them. Then nebuchadnezzar says praise be to the god of shamrak, mishak and abednego, who sent his angel to rescue his servants. They trusted in him and defied the king's command. What does that say? They defied the order of the land and they served God.
Speaker 2:There comes a point when the John 3, 3, when the Bible believing believer has to say enough is enough. I'll pray for your government, but I'm not going to party with you. I'm going to pray with you, but I'm not going to stand with you because I cannot bow down to what you are teaching this world. I cannot allow my children to go to school to hear this stuff. I cannot allow this to happen to my life. So this is what it says they were willing to give up their lives rather than serve, worship any God except their own God.
Speaker 2:There comes a time, there comes a time, sister and brother, wherever you are across the world, there comes a time and we are far gone in that time, where we should have gone no way there comes a time when the Christian, the Bible believing, believer, has to go to the word. Yes, the authority was put in place. The government, the kings, the authority was put in place. The government, the kings, they're all put in place by god. But shamrak, meshach and abednego went listen, king, I'm telling you now, if he chooses to rescue, praise god if he, if he chooses not to praise God. But I am not going to bow down to this world, I'm not going to bow down to the idols.
Speaker 2:Now we haven't had a chance to get into what we have. We have idol worship like we've never seen it before in this nation, and do you know where? One of the biggest areas of idol worship is Social media. Do you know? Another area of idol worship is religion. Mary, we're worshipping an idol, we're worshipping a human being, we're looking up to a human being and God says don't worship any man or any woman, you worship me.
Speaker 2:This text has thrown the lid off so much and we've got to come to the table. But I'm telling you now, brother and sister, wherever you are across the world, we have gone probably about 80 years, 70 to 80 years too far the wrong way as the church. We've got to pedal back and we've got to say I respect what God is doing, but also I've got to pedal back and we've got to say I respect what God is doing, but also I've got to follow Jesus. And if you are not teaching my children Matthew, mark, luke and John, if you are going to deface the nativity, I'm drawing a line in the sand. I will not allow my children to be taught by a man in a dress with hands like a builder. I am not going to allow myself to be wrapped up in that. I cannot allow myself to follow foreign gods. I have to make a stake in the sand with this stake and saying I am a Jesus follower. But then the question is is what Jesus are you following? Because Jesus says there'll be many that will come in my name. So not only have we got to work out what Jesus we're following and we're following the one from Genesis to Revelation, we're following the king above all kings. We've got to tell the world I'm following Jesus, the king of the Jews that defines it. I'm following Jesus who is the living word. I'm following Jesus who is the high priest, the head of the church, not the pope with his red bottom shoes.
Speaker 2:We're more worried. When he bowed down and he prayed the other month and the whole church world rippled he's got the wrong shoes on. What am I going to do? The Pope has got the wrong shoes on. Oh, my lordy doody, help me Jesus. What am I going to do? I ain't going to make it to heaven. He's so old. Alzheimer's has put his slippers's, got his slippers on. What is going on, jesus? We're more worried about the Pope's shoes than the cross. We're more worried about what's happening on social media than what's happening to the inner us. We're more worried about religion and following the mega ministries across the world than following Jesus Christ. We're more worried about what the government are going to do and what flags flying this weekend. Oh, I've got to be careful. Oh, dear me. Oh, I've got to be careful. I can't say this. I can't say that we're more worried about talking about Jesus in work and in school like never before.
Speaker 2:Now is a time, seriously, as we come to the table, now is a time to actually say I am a John 3, 3. I am born again. I need to tell the world and everyone in the house today I follow Genesis to Revelation. I'm a sinner saved by grace. I'm a prodigal. I'm a man trying to follow Jesus Christ. I'm a human being trying to follow Jesus in a world that is so dark.
Speaker 2:As I said, the title of well, I didn't say it the title of this sermon, or whatever you want to call it, is very simple. The man old lid is off, the rats are out the sewer. Am I going to follow a rat? Am I gonna follow jesus? Am I gonna follow a king that's hugging a tree? What am I doing with my life? Am I gonna allow my children to go to school and be educated? I won't say it. What, what am I going to do? Am I going to go into my workplace and allow HR to say to me take your Bible off your desk. Am I going to allow HR to tell me that I can't go and pray to my God? You can have a fag break, but if you take your mat, grow your beard. You're all right out the front. We'll give you a car park space for that as well.
Speaker 2:But if you tell the world that I'm a Jesus follower and I'm going to get my Bible and at two o'clock in the afternoon I'm going to have a quick sandwich and I'm going to go and sit over there and I'm going to speak and I'm going to pray, you can't pray. You even get arrested for praying quietly on street corners. Work that one out. But you can stop London Bridge moving with your Ikea mat and your beard. That's fine. But if you stand on a street corner praying and you're not mentioning a word from your mouth, we're arresting you for praying quietly. But you don't know what I'm saying. But we're arresting you because you're a Jesus follower. I'm arresting you because you're a Jesus follower. That's why I'm arresting you. You might as well go and arrest me. Why don't you arrest me in Asda? Because I'm praying quiet in Asda. They won't let me in now.
Speaker 2:Sorry, you can't even pray in a nation, but you can serve foreign gods. That's fine. You can serve foreign gods, do what you like. You can serve anything but Jesus. Let's pray, father, as we come to the table. Father, we thank you for the table. We thank you for the bread that symbolizes the body of Christ. We thank you for the cup of redemption, because that's the king that I serve, the king that's body was torn from left to right, skin pulled off it. The king that went to the cross. His ribs were hanging out, he was beaten, he was spat upon, they punched him. That's my king, and he done it for you and for me. That's my king that shed his blood at the cross of Calvary.
Speaker 2:I'm a Jesus follower, the king of the Jews. I'm a Jesus follower and I want to let the world know that I believe in the gospel, I believe in creation, I believe in this. What we are doing if you are joining us online, maybe for the first time as we break bread. We try as much as we can to break bread at every service, even in the prayer groups, online outline, wherever we, wherever we are. We do this because this is really important and I just want to speak and just connect with those that are online.
Speaker 2:There's a load of people on X at this moment in time. It's really important, sisters and brothers, that you get yourself a bit of bread, you get yourself a little cup of juice. It might be a fruit shoot, it might be whatever. It's really important that we do this. We need to get back to the fundamental teachings of the Word. It's really important. So, grab yourself a bit of bread, grab yourself a bit of grape juice. Father, I thank you that this bread symbolizes the body of Christ and as I break this bread now with my brothers in the house, my sisters in the house, the children in the house, every one of us in the house, but everybody across the world, we break bread and we thank you for the bread that symbolizes. It's a symbolic gesture that this represents the body that was broken for me in jesus name. Amen.
Speaker 2:Alex, can you keep us on line a little bit longer? A moment. We're coming to the redemption cup, the cup of redemption. Are you gonna let the government stop you taking of this, because they're not talking about it, but they know about it? Religion stops people taking another cut. I'll give you a challenge Next week. Go to one of the higher churches, go and have communion with them.
Speaker 2:And I'll tell you this when that priest looks at you and he'll recognize you that you're not part of their occult, and when he realizes you're not part of their witch's cauldron, he will not give you the bread and the wine. That's fact. The occult will only treat and give it to the occult. But the Bible says in the kingdom of God, that Christ I've mentioned this a thousand times and you know what I'm going to say Judas Iscariot. When you think about this, judas Iscariot, when Jesus broke the bread and he took it, a cup and he made sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot and Satan entered into the body of judas. Christ looked at the eyeballs of judas, but inside that retina was lucifer himself. Lucifer was at the table.
Speaker 2:Go and do an experiment, say pastor ben Benny's off his rocker. He's telling me to go to a large witch's cauldron down the road. Go in there and ask to take bread and wine with them. And I'm telling you now the devil at the front will refuse you, but the devil took it at the Passover table. Jesus will not refuse you If you are online with me. Take the bread and the cup. Now. This is redemption. This represents the blood of Jesus. Lord, I pray that you will wash me in the blood of Jesus, lord.
Speaker 2:I pray, lord, for those that are at church in the witch's cauldrons, in, in those satanic activities, then big, cold stone places. I pray, lord, for those ones that are at the front that are dressed in dresses. I pray, lord, that you will save them, that they will be born again, believers. I pray for everyone that's rubbing a rosary bead that they will be born again believers. I pray for those that have got their prayer mat out today and want to beat me around the back of the head with it. They will know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. I pray, lord, and I thank you for every atheist, because they got the faith to believe nothing. So they've got faith and, lord, I thank you for every atheist that they will see Jesus. I thank you for every king that they will see Jesus. I thank you for every king, for every authoritarian across the world. I thank you for every leader, because they will see Jesus when the fire gets turned up. But, lord, I ask you now, as I take of this cup, you will cover me from the crown of my head to the sole of my feet and wash me in the blood of Jesus Christ, amen. Let's just take a moment to pray. Let's just take a moment for everybody online. May God bless you, and the same prayer, obviously, everyone before me, through my eyes, everybody here today. It's really important. It's really really important through this time of prayer that we follow Jesus, meshach Shamrach and Abednego Esther Paul.
Speaker 2:You'll find many of God's servants refusing to follow the authoritarians. So be careful when someone quotes you. Be careful when someone quotes to you a religious person or someone caught up in that world. They quote to you Romans 13. Be careful. Be careful.
Speaker 2:We only come under that if the government are coming under the authority of the governance of God. That's what it's about. If the government is under the governance and the leading of God, I'm in a blessed nation. But if the government is coming under the influence of witchcraft, divination, freemasonry, the occult world, will I follow that as a Christian? No. So now we have to pray for wisdom.
Speaker 2:Lord, will you give me wisdom? Lord, I need your wisdom and your guidance now, lord, because the church across the UK is not telling me what to do. So, lord, I need help now because we're going to watch, lord. We're going to watch a changing of the guard. We're going to watch a changing of the guard. We're going to watch certain things happening weekends, for a number of weekends now.
Speaker 2:And, lord, I cannot follow a certain flag. I cannot follow any flag as it's there, because where does the flag take me? It will take me to underlying hatred. It will take me to underlying connotations. It will take me to a certain way that I walk. It take me to a certain way that I breathe. I'm a born again Christian. I'm a born again Christian. I don't follow political division. I'm a born again Christian. I don't follow political division, I follow the king of glory. So, lord, give me wisdom of what to do.
Speaker 2:Holy Spirit, I pray for every believer, every human being. I pray for the government of this nation. I pray for every other world religion as they serve their little gods, this nation. I pray for every other world religion as they serve their little gods. I ask you, jesus, that you will bring this nation to strong persecution. And, lord, please, will you just breathe. Oh, if you breathe over this nation, god, it will be like. It will be like a wind from an atomic bomb. It will change the landscape. God is so holy that when he breathes and when he stares, demons flee. Nature moves to the sound of his voice. Stars appear in the heavenly realms. The sun rises every day because God commanded it to. The moon ducks its head every night because God told the moon to do what it does. God tells every wave on the ocean and he guides every wave on every ocean. He tells every living creature that he is God. So, god, have mercy on this nation. Fill us afresh today In Jesus' name amen.
