Prayer for Strength, Courage, and Renewal in Trials | Isaiah 40:31 – Daily Christian Prayer Podcast

Show Notes:

Life’s trials can feel overwhelming—financial struggles, broken relationships, anxiety, or the crushing weight of uncertainty. Some days, even getting out of bed feels impossible. In today’s Daily Christian Prayer Podcast, Reverend Ben Cooper offers a powerful five-minute devotional grounded in Isaiah 40:31, reminding us that true strength is found not in ourselves but in God.

📖 “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.”

This scripture captures the reality of our spiritual journey: at times soaring, at times running, and often simply walking one faithful step at a time. Wherever you are today, God’s strength meets you there.

Reverend Cooper’s prayer names the real struggles many face—fear, grief, financial hardship, mental exhaustion—while lifting each one into God’s presence. With honesty and compassion, this prayer invites listeners worldwide, from London, England to every corner of the globe, to exchange weariness for hope, fear for courage, and despair for renewal.

Life Application

Pause during your day—whether on a commute, at work, or at home—and pray these words aloud. Release your struggles to God. Trust Him to renew your strength, even if all you can do today is walk one step forward. Remember: God’s power is revealed most clearly when we admit our weakness.

Speaker 1:

Now, without further ado, let's continue to pray as we get in close to the word of God, and I don't know about you, brother, I don't know about you, sister, wherever you are across the world. I feel that this is very relevant today. Isaiah 40, verse 31,. But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. Do you need your strength renewed today? Are your bones aching, lord? Let's pray, brothers, brothers and sisters.

Speaker 1:

The title of the prayer is pray for strength in trials. This seems to be a very common theme, you know, across the world, in my life, in our lives, so this will be a continuum. I really believe so, father. We pray right now for strength in the valley of the shadow of death. Even though we walk through the valley, lord psalm 23 even though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we will fear no evil because you and your rod and your staff are with us. You comfort us. So, father, as we come to you today, lord, we thank you for the power of the word of God and right now, in the name of Jesus, we pray for strength in the valley of trials, father, and as the book of Isaiah says in verse 40, 31,. But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Speaker 1:

Spirit of the living God, I need strength in my innermost being today, lord, you need to strengthen my voice, you need to strengthen my bones. You need to strengthen my bones, you need to strengthen my thinking, my understanding, because, lord, I'm looking at life and it seems really difficult, jesus. So, lord, I'm praying for strength in hard times. In the name of Jesus, I'm praying for courage, lord, with the trials that we face, that I face, with the challenges, lord, of just breathing. Some days, god, it's so difficult, jesus, to get out of bed, but, lord, I thank you, lord, for the power of your word. And, lord, we pray for those that are rising today, those that are getting out of bed today. We pray that you will bless them, pressed down, running over, shaken together. Lord, strengthen us, lord.

Speaker 1:

Our prayer is for strength when we're feeling weak and when we're tired, lord, and we're feeling negative and we're feeling down. So, lord, we pray, lord, that the presence of God and the Holy Spirit, lord, will lift us in the times of hard times and worried times, with the lack of money, the fear of the future, the job situation, the relationships, the situation at home, the situation at work, school, education. Lord, we just pray, lord, for strength in trials, lord. That is the cry of our heart today. That is the cry of our heart, lord. This is coming straight from my heart today, lord, and I need you, jesus. I really need you today. I need you, lord, in the storm of life. So, lord, I pray for strength in trials and I believe that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. Lord, you've got to renew my strength, jesus. Lord, you've got to renew me today. Lord, I've got to find that strength because today is looking difficult, god. Today is looking like a fearful moment in certain areas of life and, lord, I pray, as we feel weak, you will strengthen us and carry us in the glorious name of Jesus Christ. Lord, that you will strengthen us through financial hardship.

Speaker 1:

Lord, through uncertain days. As we look across the platform of the world, lord, we hear wars, rumors of wars. Lord, we're frightened, father, of what we see. Lord, and even though we are born again, jesus, lord, you know we're born again because you have given us salvation. And, lord, we've got to tell you today, lord, we're fearful of life and I'm not frightened, lord, of telling the world. Lord, some days I get scared, some days I wake up and I'm scared, lord, and I'm completely drenched in sweat because I'm scared and I'm fearful. So, lord, will you remove the fear? Lord, will you remove the doubt?

Speaker 1:

But, spirit of the living God, we pray for courage in uncertain days. We pray for strength in daily struggles, whatever that may look like through our eyes. Lord, we pray, lord, for that inner strength and resilience. Lord, just strengthen us today, please, god, lord, please, let your word come alive in our spirit. Will you keep us strong, just so we keep going, just so we keep moving forward? Because, lord, even getting into work is tough. Even getting in the bus is tough. Even getting in the car, the van, the truck, lord. Getting on the train, lord of life, father, just getting out the house sometimes is difficult, lord.

Speaker 1:

So we're praying today for strength, we're praying for hope, we're praying for the power of God, lord. We're praying, lord, for the rhythm of the word of the Holy Spirit, lord. So, father, we thank you for the book of Isaiah, 40, verse 31. But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not be faint. Spirit of the living God, we need strength today for the trials and tribulations that we face. But we thank you today, lord, that we are spirit-filled, blessed and highly favoured. And, dear God, give us strength in hard times. In Jesus' name, amen. Thank you for joining me today. May the Lord bless you and keep you. We will see you tomorrow on another daily prayer podcast with myself, reverend Ben Cooper, until tomorrow.
