Prayer for Family & Relationships Joshua 24:15 – @90 Daily Christian Prayer Podcast
Prayer for Family & Relationships | Joshua 24:15 – Daily Christian Prayer Podcast
Family is often both the greatest blessing and the greatest challenge we face. In today’s five-minute Daily Christian Prayer Podcast, Reverend Ben Cooper leads listeners in a heartfelt prayer rooted in Joshua 24:15: “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” This timeless scripture provides a foundation for families seeking unity, healing, and protection in a world filled with trials and pressures.
Across London, England, and around the world, families are longing for hope, reconciliation, and strength in the face of brokenness. In this prayer meditation, Reverend Cooper addresses real struggles: strained marriages, parenting challenges, the grief of losing children, and the longing for restoration in broken relationships. With compassion and biblical depth, the prayer brings before God our need for His peace and His blessing over every household.
The message goes beyond the surface to touch deeply personal realities: the fear parents carry for their children’s future, the pain of infertility, the heavy weight of unforgiveness, and the tension caused by financial pressures in the home. By lifting these burdens to God, listeners are reminded that no family situation is too complex or too painful for the Lord to redeem.
Through this prayer, we declare God’s promises over our loved ones, asking Him to strengthen marriages, protect children, heal divisions, and renew love within the home. When families choose to serve God together, their homes become beacons of faith that influence neighbours, workplaces, and entire communities. Revival begins at home, and from there, flows outward into society.

Speaker 0:And now, wherever you are, without any further ado, now let's begin today's prayer time. Now, today is about family and relationships. You know what's your life look like. Have you got family? Who's in your family? What's going on around your family? We understand, you know.
Speaker 0:So we're going to turn to the book of Joshua, chapter 24, verse 15. But as for me, to 24, verse 15. But as for me, but as for me and my household, we shall serve the lord, father. We pray, lord, that every house, every house, will serve the king. So today, lord, we pray lord for family unity and protection from the enemy's work. We pray, dear god, for hearts that are broken in relationships. But, lord, we also bring children before you, father. We bring the safety and the future of the children, dear God, into families. Today, lord, as we look across the platform of the world and we see what the world is doing, we pray for the children's future and we pray for their safety. Lord, we pray for the children that you will bless them and restore them and heal them, protect them through their education, through their life. Today, lord, father, we're also praying for peace in the family home. We pray, lord, for every home today, from every tribe, every tongue, every nationality, every corner of the globe. We pray, father, for family homes today. We pray for Lord, people with large families, small families and people with no families. Today, lord, that you will strengthen every human being in the glorious name of Jesus Christ. I need wisdom, lord, as we pray for children, as we pray for homes, as we pray for broken lives.
Speaker 0:We pray for broken lives today, those, dear God, that are going through loss through families, those that are going through bereavement, those, dear God, that are bereft, that have lost family and friends. We pray, lord, for things that happen, lord, through palliative care, through sickness, through diseases. We pray for those that have lost family members and friends, close friends, dear God, close families. Those, dear God, that have lost children. We pray, lord, for family, lord, that are mourning and lost children, and we pray for strength today, and we pray for those that are mourning and lost children and we pray for strength today and we pray for those that are trying to have children. We pray for those, dear God, that are longing to have children, that they will have children in their lives, lord, and we thank you, dear God, that miracles are happening.
Speaker 0:In the name of Jesus, we pray for forgiveness, Lord, in relationships, lord, this is the big hitter, lord. We pray for forgiveness where we have Lord, where I may have hurt people in my family. So today, lord, I pray Lord for where I've hurt people in my family, lord, that you will forgive me and they will forgive me too, lord. So, father, I pray for forgiveness today, in the mighty name of Jesus. Where family tension is high, where relationships are stretched, lord, through financial pressure, marital problems, lord, divorces, lord, fear of the unknown children, separation, lord, money issues, father, we pray for the family unit today, lord, that the love of God will be over families, lord, and you will bless families today and families will be restored and healed. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We pray for protection over loved ones, over friends, lord. We just ask you today, lord, for unity, lord, right across the families, the cultures, the life and Father, we thank you for the book of Joshua, chapter 24, verse 15.
Speaker 0:But, as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. I pray, father, that in every house today we will serve Jesus Christ. In every home, lord, jesus Christ will be real. We pray for the homes in which we live that they will be filled with the Holy Spirit and the power of God and Lord, your love will be there, lord, that there will be peace in every house today. Lord, that you will restore houses and lives and Lord, relationships, that, dear God, that you will just move very, very powerfully. Lord, in every house.
Speaker 0:But Lord, as Joshua says, lord.
Speaker 0:But as for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord.
Speaker 0:We pray, lord, that we will pick up that servanthood in the house and we will be servants to the rest of the world.
Speaker 0:So, lord, we pray Lord for our house that we will understand who we are and what our calling is and we will serve the Lord.
Speaker 0:Lord that our neighbors will see that we are jesus followers, that our work colleagues will see that we are jesus followers, that our relationship, people in our lives will see that we are jesus followers alone. This prayer is big, is wide and bold, and we pray today for unity. In the mighty name of the father, the son, the holy spirit, that you will bless lives, you will bless families, that, lord, that you will restore all the years that the locust has taken. But, father, we thank you for the book of joshua, chapter 24, verse 15. But, as for me and my house, we shall serve the lord. So, lord, help us to be servants in family, in work, in education, in every situation. In the beautiful name of Jesus Christ, thank you for joining me today here on this beautiful podcast, as we've been praying together. May the Lord bless you and keep you and carry you. We'll see you tomorrow on another daily Christian prayer podcast. Until tomorrow.
