Prayer for Global Revival, Awakening, and Church Unity - 2 Chronicles 7:14 – @88 Daily Christian Prayer Podcast”
Prayer for Spiritual Revival, Awakening, and Church Unity | 2 Chronicles 7:14 – Daily Christian Prayer Podcast
What does God truly require of us? In a world filled with division, unrest, and uncertainty, the answer is both timeless and simple: “To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8). But revival does not stop at justice, mercy, and humility—it begins with prayer, repentance, and seeking God’s face.
In this episode of the Daily Christian Prayer Podcast, Reverend Ben Cooper from London, England leads a deeply moving prayer for spiritual revival, awakening, and unity in the church. Anchored in 2 Chronicles 7:14, we are reminded of God’s clear promise: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
This prayer challenges us to see revival not as a one-time event or limited to church buildings, but as a movement that can transform families, workplaces, schools, cities, and entire nations. Revival is not passive—it requires humility, repentance, and obedience. Against the backdrop of political unrest in the UK, social division in Europe, and global uncertainty across continents, we are reminded that revival is God’s response to the prayers of His people.
Reverend Cooper also draws inspiration from the persecuted church worldwide, where more than 365 million Christians endure hardship yet demonstrate unshakable faith. Their hunger for God’s presence is a powerful reminder that true revival begins with desperation for Jesus. This prayer also highlights the urgent need for unity across denominations—a unity that transcends doctrinal divides and finds its center in Christ alone.

Speaker 0:Now, without further ado, let's get straight in to the prayer title and this five minute time of prayer together in the greatest name in heaven and earth. And today's title is a very powerful and a very interesting title. It's prayer for spiritual revival and the church. What is revival? That is the question. How do I define the word revival? God revealed that word to us in jesus name. The book that we're coming from is the old testament, coming from 2 chronicles, chapter 7, verse 14. If my people, who are called by name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from them in heaven and I will forgive their sins and heal their land. Father, if there is a day within the UK, london, england, that this nation needs healing. It is today, lord, we have unrest, we have political things happening. Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray, lord, for the UK, I pray for the world, every city, every town. Father, we pray that there will be a revival presence of you on the streets. Lord, we want revival, jesus in the church. Lord, we want revival in our lives. But, lord, we want Lord to see our nations and our towns and our villages and our lives and our families. We want to see revival in the practicalities of life. Lord, we don't want to be held just to the four walls of the church. Father, we have prayed too many years. Bring revival to this box, to this denomination. We want revival in our workplace. We want revival in our school. We want revival on the streets. We want revival in our workplace. We want revival in our school. We want revival on the streets. We want revival in the town, lord, I want revival in the shops. I want to see people giving their lives to Jesus, just like the persecuted church.
Speaker 0:Sister and brother, through this prayer time, let's come to the realization that we don't need church to see revival. The spirit of the Lord is everywhere, with the fire of God, all things are possible. So today, lord, we pray for revival. Lord, not just within the body of the church, within what we understand and what we gather our thoughts to. We don't just do that, father, and pray for revival within the four walls of the box of church. We pray revival, lord, god, into the towns, into the villages. We pray for revival into the schools, into our workplace.
Speaker 0:We pray for revival today that there is a great spiritual awakening, lord, awaken our hearts, awaken us today, awaken our minds, awaken the body of Christ, awaken pastors and leaders, lord, father, we pray that our faith in our hearts will be renewed. Today, father, we pray for pastors and church leaders, lord, that we will take the gospel out and the congregations. We will go out in unity and power. We pray for spiritual revival and the church, father, will be on the streets, in the town, lord. We're not talking about religion, lord. We want revival. Be on the streets, in the town, lord. We're not talking about religion, lord, we want revival, we want the spirit of the living god.
Speaker 0:We pray, lord, for the persecuted church across the world. We pray for those 365 million displaced christians that are running for the gospel of jesus christ. We pray for our brothers and sisters in the persecuted church. Lord, they're seeing revival. Lord, they're seeing lord. They're hungry for our brothers and sisters in the persecuted church. Lord, they're seeing revival. Lord, they're seeing Lord, they're hungry for Jesus. And today, lord, I ask you, lord, let me be hungry for Jesus. Let us be hungry for Jesus. Let us, lord, let's see revival in school, revival in youth. Let there be an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Let the church, lord, unite across every denomination. We pray for this denominational division, lord, across religion, across theological understanding. Spirit of the living God, let's be bold in spreading the gospel at work in our lives.
Speaker 0:So, lord, we claim the word.
Speaker 0:We thank you that we are spirit-filled.
Speaker 0:So, lord, we thank you that we are spirit filled. So, lord, we thank you for revival. We thank you, lord, as we humble ourselves today, as we come before the god of israel, we humble ourselves and we seek you by prayer and supplication. And, lord, we turn from our wicked ways and we come to the cross of calvary. And, lord, your word, says when we do that, you will heal our land, heal this nation. Wherever we are, wherever our feet are on, whatever terra firma we're treading on today, heal this street, heal this workplace. Whatever our feet are on today tarmac, carpet, dirt, wherever we are, spirit of the living God, heal this land.
Speaker 0:Thank you for joining us today and keep praying, never give up. We've come from the book of 2 Chronicles, 7, verse 14. As we pray out of this and as we continue in prayer, if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sins and heal their land. Thank you for healing today, jesus. Thank you that our land, our nation, belongs to the God of Israel and as we stand on the word of God, thank you, lord, that there is an awakening in our spirit. In Jesus name, thank you for joining me today. May the Lord bless you and keep you. See you tomorrow on another daily prayer. Christian podcast until tomorrow.
