Prayer for Peace, Hope, and Strength in Anxiety - Philippians 4:6–7 – @86 Daily Christian Prayer Podcast
Prayer for Peace, Hope, and Strength in Anxiety | Philippians 4:6–7 – Daily Christian Prayer Podcast
Scripture: Philippians 4:6–7 – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God… will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
Anxiety and despair are heavy burdens carried by millions across London, England, and around the world. Sleepless nights, racing thoughts, depression, panic attacks, financial worries, and fear of the unknown have become everyday realities. In this episode of the Daily Christian Prayer Podcast, Reverend Ben Cooper leads a powerful prayer for peace, hope, and strength when anxiety overwhelms your heart.
This five-minute daily devotional prayer time acknowledges the real struggles believers face—crippling fear, stress about health and family, uncertainty about work and finances—while holding tightly to God’s promises. Philippians 4:6–7 gives us a divine strategy for anxious times: bring everything to God in prayer, and His supernatural peace will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
What makes this prayer so meaningful is its honesty. Reverend Ben gives voice to the unspoken thoughts many struggle with: “Lord, my mind is racing. My heart is heavy. Fear grips me. Anxiety is overwhelming.” Instead of denying these realities, the prayer invites God into them, opening the door for His perfect peace.
This devotional is more than encouragement—it’s a lifeline. It speaks directly to those battling depression, grief, and despair, reminding us that God’s peace is not temporary relief but a supernatural covering that surpasses understanding. Whether you’re in London commuting, in Australia beginning your day, or in the United States facing midnight worries, this global prayer community lifts one voice asking God to bring calm, hope, and restoration.

Speaker 0:The title of our prayer time, this five minute, is praying for hope and strength during anxiety. You know social anxiety is so strong. You know anxiety is so strong, feeling the dread and doubt and everything that goes along with life. So, without further ado, let's get straight into prayer. In the name of Jesus. We're coming from the beautiful book of Philippians, chapter 4, verses 6 through to 7, that beautiful, famous text that hits us so well in our hearts. Do not be anxious about anything, father. In the name of Jesus, I pray that anxiety will go today. Lord, as anxiety tries to rise itself in my heart today, I come against that, lord, simply through the gospel of Jesus Christ. And Lord, help me to be more faithful in anxious times. Help me, lord, not to feel hopeless in anxious times. Help me, lord, through the power of the word of God, whether I'm at work, whether I'm at home, whether I'm at home, whether I'm on a commute, whether I'm on a school run, whatever I am doing, as a Bible-believing believer, father, will you help me not to be anxious. Lord, take the feeling of being scared away, scared from uncertain days, scared of the storm of life, scared of living and scared of dying. Spirit of the living, god, give me peace in anxious times.
Speaker 0:In the name of Jesus, father, we pray for hope when we're feeling lost and when we're feeling tired. Lord, will you take this tiredness away from me? Lord, will you take this weight, this way, that I feel in my bones today? Jesus, spirit of the living God, lord, my body's aching with fear, my body's aching with anxiety, my body's aching with the stress of money, with the stress of living. Lord, will you help my heart to calm down.
Speaker 0:Lord, my mind is racing Anxiety today. Lord is high. Lord, I feel despair. Lord, I feel a place where I've hit this place, like Jesus, lord, when I think of Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane, when I think that Jesus hit a place of sorrow. Lord, for those that have hit a point of sorrow, will you strengthen us in the name of Jesus. Father, for those that have hit a place of despair, for those that have hit a place of uncertain days, will you strengthen us and lead us in the name of Jesus. Lord, give us strength in difficult times. Will you bring peace to our heart.
Speaker 0:Lord, right now and, father, where we're not sleeping very well, lord, we know that sleep is needed in the name of Jesus. So, father, we pray, lord that sleep, lord, will be right in our bones, that we will rest well, lord, that we will recover. So, lord, give us the correct amount of sleep. In the name of Jesus, father, we're praying that we will overcome fear. We will overcome fear in the name of Jesus, and we're pressing through prayer and we're pressing through as brothers and sisters today. And, lord, we thank you that mental health is dissolving. In the name of Jesus. Lord, our thoughts, lord, cleanse our thoughts, cleanse our minds. Spirit of the living God, we come to you today and we're praying, lord for anxiousness to go. So, father, through the book of Philippians, 4, verses 6 and 7, you're telling us not to be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, we bring our request to God, right now, in the name of Jesus, and you tell us God, you tell us clearly in your, and the peace of God will guard our hearts and minds. Spirit of the living God, guard our heart, guard our mind, guide our thought pattern, guide us and lead us and strengthen us.
Speaker 0:In the name of Jesus, lord, we pray for those that are feeling hopeless in a time of grief, in a time of loss.
Speaker 0:We pray for those that feel really sad today, that feel really stressed out and sad and tired and weary. We pray for those, lord, that even can't get out of the bed because depression is so strong, anxiety is so powerful, those that have just had to click out of life itself. Father, we pray, lord, that you will bless them from the crown of their head to the sole of their feet, lord, and we thank you that your peace surpasses all understanding, your presence surpasses all fear. So, lord, I pray that we will be brothers and sisters that get more into the scripture. And, lord, will you lead us today, will you guide us with peace. We pray for peace over our lives and this will be the day that the Lord has made. We shall rejoice and be glad. So we pray for hope and strength during anxious and worrying times.
Speaker 0:Father, we thank you for the book of Philippians, chapter 4, verses 6 through to 7. And as you tell us God, as we pray this through, do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, we come to you today and we present our life and our request before your footstool, and in the name of Jesus, you tell us, and the peace of God will guard our hearts and mind. Lord, we are blessed and we are rich in you. May God bless you wherever you are. May the Holy Spirit lead you in paths of righteousness today. Thank you for joining me today. May the Lord bless you and keep you. See you tomorrow on another daily prayer devotional time in Jesus' name Until tomorrow.
