Daily Christian Prayer Podcast @75 – Prayer for Peace Amid Anxiety

Scripture: Philippians 4:6–7 (NIV) – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Do you feel overwhelmed, restless, or trapped in cycles of worry? In today’s episode of the Daily Christian Prayer Podcast, Reverend Ben Cooper leads a focused five-minute prayer for peace amid anxiety, guiding believers in London, England, and around the world to experience calm, clarity, and divine assurance. Drawing on Philippians 4:6–7, this session emphasizes that true peace comes not from circumstances but from surrendering to God’s presence.

Whether anxiety stems from work pressures, city life stress, financial uncertainty, or global challenges, this prayer creates space to release tension, quiet racing thoughts, and invite God’s peace into every aspect of life. Reverend Ben acknowledges the physical and emotional impact of stress—racing minds, sleepless nights, and mental fatigue—while demonstrating how daily prayer and devotion can restore balance and hope.

This episode is a practical guide for building a spiritual habit: start each morning or evening with a short prayer, write down worries to release to God, and declare His peace over your heart and mind. By integrating these steps into your daily prayers and daily devotion, you cultivate resilience, calm, and confidence in God’s care. This guidance is particularly powerful for listeners in London navigating fast-paced urban life but remains globally relevant for anyone seeking relief from anxiety.

Through this prayer session, listeners are invited to:

  • Surrender fear and stress to God
  • Replace anxious thoughts with faith-filled declarations
  • Experience mental, emotional, and spiritual restoration

Speaker 1:

Now let's begin to pray today. Are you anxious? Do you need peace? What does life look like in your eyes?

Speaker 1:

The scriptures we are going to is Philippians, chapter 4, verses 6 through to 7. The peace of God will guard your hearts. Father. In the name of Jesus, give us peace in the midst of anxiety. Father, we come against anxious thoughts. We come against the doubt. We come against stress. We come against, right now, lord, the thoughts of night, that, the tremors of night, lord, we pray, lord for, for peace in the storm of life. Spirit of the living god, as we come to you, we ask you today, lord, that peace will abound in anxious times. We pray for peace in anxious times. In the mighty name of j, father, we ask you, lord, that peace, lord, will come onto our lives. Lord, that you will give us relief from stress. So, lord, this morning, this hour, wherever we are, we pray that stress will go and peace will come in like a river. So today, lord, as we walk in life, as we commute through life, as we migrate, lord, as we crisscross across the globe, lord, I pray, lord, that the anxiousness of life will go, the anxious times will turn to joy. Lord, you tell us that the joy of the Lord is our strength In that beautiful Old Testament scripture. Lord, we believe that the joy of the Lord is our strength. So today, lord, let joy abound. Let the love of God be over our lives. We pray, lord, for calmness. Lord, I pray for calmness over people's lives today, whoever is listening, whoever is with us, wherever they are. Lord, across this world, we pray for calm. We pray, lord, for stillness in hearts. We pray, lord, for stillness in hearts. We pray, lord, that hearts will stop racing. We pray, dear God, that worry will disappear, will melt like wax. We pray, lord, for stress, relief and peace. In the name of Jesus, we pray, lord, to calm anxiety. Today, lord, will you calm anxiety? And also, lord, we ask you for inner peace and calm the inner us, lord, we pray that agitations will go.

Speaker 1:

Lord, will the agitation-ness of life? We're agitated. We feel like, lord, we are a cat on hot bricks. Lord, we're dancing from one thing to another. Lord, we've got brain fog. Lord, we're living on adrenaline.

Speaker 1:

Lord, we don't want to live on adrenaline and fear, lord, we want to live on peace. So today, lord, I ask you that us, the body of christ, as we walk in the kingdom of god, as we walk in biblical truth, that we, dear god, will know the truth and the truth will set us free. So, father, we thank you that there is peace in this storm today, no matter how big this storm is. There is peace in the name of Jesus. And we ask you, lord, for the days of uncertainty that lies ahead. So, lord, we thank you for this moment as we just gather our thoughts now, as we rest in the word of God, through the book of Philippians, chapter 4, verses 6 through to 7.

Speaker 1:

The peace of God will guard your heart, lord. I need my heart guarded today. I need that peace. Today I need the peace of God. Lord, I need these night sweats to go. I need these night tremors to go. I need, dear God, these anxious thoughts to go.

Speaker 1:

Lord, we cannot keep waking up, sweating and in fear and in doubt and in turmoil. We need peace. So we declare the word of Jehovah Jireh over our lives. We declare the word of El Shaddai, we declare the word of our God and our King, the God of Israel, the father of Isaac, jacob and Abraham. Will you bring peace in the storm, lord? Will you bring peace during uncertain days, lord?

Speaker 1:

The evening prayer, the morning prayer, the midday prayer, every prayer we pray at this moment is bring peace to hearts today. Guard our hearts. We need the love of God. I pray, lord, that my brothers and sisters will feel peace in anxious times, that they pray today and they will find that stress dissolves at the name of Jesus, that stress is gone and calmness is on their heart, their mind, their body, their soul. So, wherever they are today, whatever their life looks like, bring peace in the name of Jesus Christ. Let the love of God rest over them.

Speaker 1:

So, father, mental health again, lord, this big button, lord, that's being pressed across the world. Give us peace in our mind. We pray for the mind today. That the mind, dear God, will not overthink. That the mind will not accelerate far above Lord, that our thoughts, lord, will calm down down. So, lord, we pray for peace in anxious times and through the storm of life. Today we believe that our God is with us. Spirit of the living God, we believe in miracles. Come Holy Spirit, restore us today. Thank you for joining me today. May the Lord bless you and keep you. See you tomorrow on our daily prayer podcast. Until tomorrow.
