Nothing Can Separate Us from God's Love

Scripture: Romans 8:38–39
Podcast: Unshakeable — A Daily Christian Devotional Podcast with Reverend Ben Cooper

Are you feeling distant from God? Battling loneliness, regret, or fear? Today’s devotional is a sacred reminder that you are deeply loved — not occasionally, not conditionally, but eternally. In this soul-stirring episode of Unshakeable, Reverend Ben Cooper declares a bold, biblical truth straight from Romans 8:38–39: “Nothing in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

This is not poetic optimism. It is God’s unwavering promise — that no storm, failure, trauma, or spiritual battle can block His love from reaching you. Today, we tear down lies of unworthiness and spiritual distance, and we reaffirm the unshakable love of God — a love that remembers no wrongs, gives sacrificially, and holds you through every hardship.

As Reverend Ben connects the dots between Romans 8, John 3:16, and 1 Corinthians 13, we discover how God's love is not just emotional — it's eternally anchored in the finished work of Christ. This is love that “keeps no record of wrongs,” that “never fails,” and that reaches deep into the messiness of life to rescue, restore, and redeem.

For the tired, the overwhelmed, and the doubting — Jesus says: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). This is more than physical rest. This is divine soul-rest, rooted in a love that cannot be broken by circumstances or sin.

If you’re wrestling with your worth, weighed down by the past, or worn out by today’s pressures — know this: God hasn’t moved. His love hasn’t failed. And He has never stopped pursuing you.

Let's dive into today's devotional and discover the power of god's unshakable truth, wherever you are across this beautiful world. Let's get straight in to the book of Romans, chapter 8, and we are going to go to the text that is in verse 38 and 39, for I am convinced neither death nor life, nor angels nor demons, nor the present nor the future, not any powers, neither height nor depth, not anything in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of god that is in christ jesus. Before we go any further, shall we pray, whatever the hour is, wherever you are, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We thank you for joining us today and the title of this devotion is God's unfailing love. Father, we thank you that your love is just so powerful. And wherever we are across this beautiful world, father, we thank you for the book of Romans, chapter 8, verses 38 through to 39, because your love, father, god, will strengthen us. Your love will carry us and right now, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, whatever we face as Bible believing believers. Spirit filled, blessed and highly favored Lord, will you carry us today wherever we are across this world. Father, we thank you for the power of the holy spirit. But, lord, if we're commuting, if we're at work, if we're in the staff room, if we are just on our way, lord to the school run, father, wherever we are sitting at our desk, in retail, in business, wherever we are at this moment in time, lord, we pray that your word will encourage us today. And, lord, if anyone is feeling separated from your love, lord, will you just let that anchor, that anchor of hope, draw everybody back into the kingdom of god? Amen. You know we're in a beautiful text today and, whatever your time zone is, however, you measure life through the lens that you use. We welcome you today onto this daily devotional podcast, and we are in Romans, chapter 8, verse 38.

Speaker 1:

For I am convinced, neither death nor life. When you look at this, the scripture is telling us the two opposites of every end of every area of life neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, nor the present nor the future, not any powers. Do we realize that there is nothing in all creations, from demonic forces to angelic hosts, neither life nor death itself? There is nothing, nor the present, nor the future, nor any powers. There is nothing in this world that can separate you. There is nothing in this world that can take you out of the love of God. Do you feel that you are disconnected? Do you feel that you have been pushed aside? Do you feel that society right around you now is pushing you out the way? Don't worry what the world is doing to you. Realize who you are in Christ Jesus and grab yourself a Bible and see for your very selves.

Speaker 1:

Verse 38 and verse 39 of Romans, chapter 8. Verse 39 says Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus. What a text to start the day, to be in the middle of the day or to even end the day, whatever your time zone is. I need to encourage you at this moment that there is nothing in all creation, nothing in this world, nothing below the earth, nothing in the heavenly realms in this world, nothing below the earth, nothing in the heavenly realms. There is nothing that can separate myself or you from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus.

Speaker 1:

If you have a Bible, turn to John 3.16. The Bible says for God so loved the world that he gave. Do you know what he gave us his son? Even while I was a sinner, his love was strong for me. Even while I fail him. Now, to this day, even when I let him down, even when I miserably do things wrong, no matter what comes my way, no matter what hits the front door of life, there is nothing in all creation, neither height nor depth, nor power, nor sickness nor disease, nor demonic force or angelic heavenly host, that can separate me or you from the beauty and the love of our Lord God, the love of God that is in Christ Jesus.

Speaker 1:

Do I actually realize how powerful this love is? Do I actually realize this glory and this love of God, this God of love? Yes, he's a God of judgment. He's a God of order. He's Jehovah Jireh, jehovah Nissi, jehovah Shalom. He is the great I am. He is worthy of all praise. The great I am, he is worthy of all praise. But his love for you.

Speaker 1:

No matter how you feel about yourself, no matter what your historical situations look like, there is nothing. There is nothing on this earth, in this earth, around this earth, above this earth, there is nothing in all creation can separate you from the love of God. Think about that as we pause a moment. Podcast. I want to encourage you to realize that there is a love over you, around you, within you, that is unshakable, no strings attached. His love is great, his love is powerful.

Speaker 1:

What about if we turn to 1 Corinthians, chapter 13, verses 1 through to 13, where we read about the love and the power of God? Have a look for yourself. See what it says. You know God's love is so strong, it has no end, it has no beginning. Nothing can separate you from that love the triune Godhead. Have a read of 1 Corinthians, chapter 13. Nothing can separate you from that love the triune Godhead.

Speaker 1:

Have a read of 1 Corinthians, chapter 13, verses 1 through to 13. It speaks about the love of God. It tells us that it keeps no records of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

Speaker 1:

And in this book of Romans, verse 38, the writer writes I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor demons, nor the present, nor the present, nor the future, nor any powers, there is nothing on this earth, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus. The power of the word of God is unshakable. You are unshakable, you are chosen and God's love is over you. Today, whereabouts are you in this world? What are you doing right now, at this moment? Because I need to emphasize and to encourage you that the love of the father, the son, the holy spirit, is over you. That love, that love that he has for you, took his son to the cross of calvary, for god so loved the world that whosoever shall believe in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Speaker 1:

God's love is so beautiful. God's love was displayed at the crucifixion of Calvary. When Christ went to Calvary, when Jesus Christ said it is finished, there is something that God forgets. Do you know what? God forgets something that is so powerful, but the world always remembers. The world remembers this, but God forgets and he cannot draw it back out of the abyss. He cannot pull it back out of the abyss. He cannot pull it back and put it back in our lives. The Bible says that God cannot remember our sins. God is forgetful, and what a beautiful God he is because he has wiped my sin. He has wiped our sin. Because of that great love, that mercy, that favor that is over you today.

Speaker 1:

Maybe you have lost your self-worth. Maybe you have hit a point in your life and you don't know who you are. Your identity has been destroyed by the world. You feel unloved. You feel that you can never be loved. You feel like you've lost everything in your life and you are just pressing the boards of life. The drum just keeps beating Monday to Tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday, saturday and Sunday. The rhythm of life has just got you so low Working, trying finding a way forward. Maybe there's people in your life that don't love you. Maybe there's people in your life that is trying to destroy you.

Speaker 1:

I need to encourage you right now that God's love is so strong and God is calling you. God is speaking to you today through these scriptures and he is telling you there is nothing in all creation that can separate me from you, because God is love, me from you, because God is love, and God wants to tell you through his word today I love you, you're my son, you're my daughter. Come to me, all of you that are weary and heavily laden, that I will give you rest. Do you need rest today? Do you need to lay the suitcases of life down? Are you trapped in relationships, in work, financial stress and strain? Are you carrying the burdens of the world? God is calling you through this Christian devotional podcast.

Speaker 1:

Jesus loves you, the fire of God is over you, and if you just take a Bible, a moment, if you can't get your hands on a physical Bible, just find one on a digital device, one on a digital device, and just type in Romans, chapter 8, verse 38 through to 39, and you will find that there is nothing in all creation that can separate you. Whatever your name is, that you is you, that you is your name, nothing can separate you from the love of God. When you realize that the love of God is over you when you realize that God loves you beyond the human mind, beyond the concept of life. His love is fierce, his love is powerful, his love is unshakable and he is the king of glory. And Jesus Christ is calling you today and he's telling you all is well. Nothing can separate my love from you, whoever you are and wherever you are.

Speaker 1:

Today, we must encourage you to stand strong in the Word of God, hold on to the faith, press into the Scripture like never before. Find yourself a Bible and stand strong, be braggadocious, realize who you are in God and serve Him and follow him. But also, as I say this to you, I remind myself Ben, surrender yourself to the love of God. Do you need peace today? Because there is peace in God. That God that the Bible speaks about is calling you the God of Israel, the father of Isaac, jacob and Abraham. He's a God of love and he's calling you wherever you are across this world. Never give up. The love of God is with you. Nothing can separate you from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus.
