From Egypt to the Table: Passover Journey (#Elim - 1098)
Out of Egypt: The Blood That Redeems
Scripture Focus: Exodus 12 & Luke 22
Podcast: Unshakeable — A Daily Christian Devotional Podcast with Reverend Ben Cooper
From slavery to freedom. From blood on a doorframe to the blood poured out on the cross. From Egypt to eternity — today’s daily Christian devotional connects the ancient story of Passover with the living reality of redemption through Jesus Christ.
In this powerful episode of Unshakeable, Reverend Ben Cooper takes us deep into the heart of Exodus 12 and Luke 22, unveiling a divine connection that has echoed through generations. God’s instructions to Moses in Egypt weren’t just for Israel’s liberation—they were a prophetic picture of Jesus, the Lamb of God, who would redeem the world through His own blood.
When God said, “Take an unblemished lamb... apply its blood to your doorposts”, He was foreshadowing the day when Christ’s blood would mark the hearts of every believer. As Jesus broke bread and lifted the cup in Luke 22, He was fulfilling the very feast designed thousands of years earlier — the Passover — with Himself as the final sacrifice.
“Out of Egypt I called my son” (Hosea 11:1 / Matthew 2:15) — even the Messiah’s childhood echoes the Exodus story.
But this is not just ancient history. This is your story, right now. Whether you’re breaking bread in a church pew or at your kitchen table, the freedom that began in Egypt is still unfolding. Communion is not confined to ceremony — it is a living moment of remembrance available to every believer.
And when the blood of Jesus covers you, something divine happens: God forgets your sins. Not because He’s careless—but because He chooses divine amnesia over condemnation. While religion counts your failures, God sees only the cross. Your sins—every one of them—have already been judged, nailed to the wood at Calvary, and forgotten forever.
If today you're crawling through your own personal Egypt—grappling with shame, addiction, fear, or fatigue—this episode is for you. You are blood-bought. You are seen. You are loved. The journey doesn’t end with escape; it continues every time you remember the Lamb who was slain.

Speaker 3:Good evening everyone and welcome tonight by our study on RB, christian Radio. Before we open the world to Reverend Ben, I want to take a few moments to speak into something that we all face and sometimes we don't talk about enough. The days were not okay, we just listened to them. Two songs go be okay and someday and maybe those lyrics played sometimes said inside you maybe you had some, some of those some days lately, the kind of days where we're getting out of bed feels like like a win and feels, and kind of days where the science is loud and the kind of days where you wonders if anyone sees you, if even god sees you, if, if there's you, you're not alone and there's more than that. God has something to say about it.
Speaker 3:Romans 8, verse 28, tells us In all things, god full of God, those who love him, and not something just be good, but all things. That include your hard days and messy days as well. Some days you don't want to get out and do anything. Sometimes you struggle. In Psalm 34, verse 18, says the Lord to be close, to be broken hearted and save those who are crowded in spirit. If you feel broken tonight, if your heart is heavy, god is closed, then you think he's not waiting for you to clean yourself up or fix it all. You've got to help yourself. In isa 41, verse 10, remind us, remind us of his promises. Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be desire, for I am with you. Do not be desire, for I am your God. So yes, phil's life is real. Some days are tough, but God's is tougher. But you don't have to pretend here. Not in this situation, not in any moment, but for God.
Speaker 3:If you want to email us, feel free to do any prayers. We'll let the prayer team know and it'll always come to you back. So, before I hand over to Reverend Ben, we're going to do a short prayer. Heavenly Father, we come before you tonight as we are here, some of us joyful, some of us worry and many of us sometime in between. Thank you for reminding us through these songs that it's okay to have some days. Thank you, you are near us and broken hearted and never turns away. And friends, we need Lord for one of us, we need each other, but we always remember our friends are closer and never forgot. So help us everyone. Help in jesus name, amen alex.
Speaker 4:Alex, what a beautiful intro you've done there. Thank you so much, alex. Now I'm really really proud of you. Alex, you're doing absolutely amazing and uh, I just uh, it's great to sit here and, uh, to be part of what the Lord is doing in Alex's life and many other people's lives. So, you know, god can do all things, you know. Welcome to where? Sorry, let's start this again. Welcome wherever you are right now, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we pray that each and every one of you will just come to the word of God this evening.
Speaker 4:You know we're starting this again now and we're just going to press into the book of Exodus and for those that are making notes, for those that are just taking notes this evening, you know, we just want to let you know, you know that there is power in the name of Jesus and all things are possible to those who believe, and we want to let you know that nothing is impossible with God. If you've got a dream, if you've got a dream, if you've got a vision, whatever it may be, you know god will lead you. Alex is doing absolutely amazing. It's so good to sit on the opposite side of the table with alex, you know, to share uh ministry with alex and to to watch this young man grow in the mighty name of jesus christ. You know it's great and it's really encouraging. You know, the lord is doing miracles in everybody's lives and it's so beautiful to sit here and listen and, uh, just let alex just allow the holy spirit into his life and to and to lead him.
Speaker 4:So, wherever you are this evening, without further ado, come on, let's get in. I've rambled far too much. Thank you to everybody on rb christian radio. Thank you to everybody that is on um the the screen right now, and wherever you are. Yes, we're just turning up the mics, we're just settling down a moment. So, wherever you are across the world, may the fire of God and the presence of the Holy Spirit be with you right now, in the mighty name of Jesus.
Speaker 4:So let's get straight into this study. And for those that are making notes now, I'm going to start right off, as we go straight in and we want to push as quick as we can because time is not on our side and this is an enormous subject that we're looking at this evening and the title is from egypt. From egypt to the table. What do you mean from egypt to the table. There's only one thing that it could actually mean, and it is about the passover. So, without further ado, let's grab a bible and let's get straight in. You know, thank god for God, for the 25,000 plus downloads, all those people that are listening to everything that goes on. Imagine, imagine what that would look like Every one of us in some form of building. Goodness knows how big that would be for all of us. You know, to be in the house of the Lord together, but God bless everyone right now and we gave out some stats yesterday and I believe it was America that was climbing really high Singapore, you know, brazil and all those places across the world, israel. We welcome everybody this evening, wherever you are across, on RB, christian Radio. May God strengthen you and carry you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Speaker 4:We're just settling down and tonight we are in the book of Exodus, chapter 12. It is about the Passover. It is about the Passover. This is raw. This is not edited in any way. This is just straight out of the studio here. So we want to encourage you never to give up. You know we're ready to go now. We are in exodus, chapter 12, and we are going to pick it up in quite a few texts there as well, but also we're coming into the, the gospel of luke, luke, chapter 22. We're in luke, chapter 22, and there's so much that we can gather from this passover. And, as we look at it in luke, chapter 22, we're probably going to go from verse 1. But wherever you are this evening, thank you for joining us on the other side of the world.
Speaker 4:And, as I said, the title of this evening's podcast study, whatever you want to do for those that are journaling, for those that are making notes of what we do here, the title is extremely simple From Egypt to the Table, to the Passover Table. That is what we are looking at. You know the Passover table is such a powerful place to be and wherever you are in church and whatever is going on in your life, you know there's nothing more powerful than taking of the bread and taking of the cup. Now let's get straight in to the Gospel of Luke. There's so many places we can pick this up. It's such an enormous subject and I'm not going to be able to do this uh any uh favors whatsoever tonight, because it's just absolutely enormous, but all I'm going to do is just lay a bit of a foundation out, but let's get straight in to the scriptures. So we're coming, uh, into the gospel of luke, chapter 22, and I think I'm going to pick it up in verse one.
Speaker 4:I think I'll pick it up in verse one and it says now the feast of the unleavened unleavened bread was called the passover, and this was approaching and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of jesus. They was afraid of the people and satan entered into judas, iscariot, one of the 12, and judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guards and discuss the way that he might betray jesus. Now it's it's important that we try and get some form of an understanding of what the passover is. You know the passover. We've mentioned this, we've said about this, we've spent a lot of time in this before, but I feel, in my spirit, it's really important that we just keep going over this. We keep going over, because it's fundamental biblical truth that we need to understand. So, wherever you are tonight, we want to encourage you to grab yourself a bit of bread and a bit of grape juice and just later on, in just about 30 minutes, we'll be breaking bread together.
Speaker 4:Now, in verse one of Luke, chapter 22, it says now the feast of the unleavened Bread. We're talking about the Last Supper. The Last Supper is so powerful. The Last Supper was the final fulfillment of the Old Testament coming into physical action through Christ Jesus. Now it really is important that I understand what the Last Supper is about, because it is such a powerful time the Feast of Unleavened Bread. When you look at the scripture now, let's quickly I'm going to bounce backwards and forwards between the text and I really must keep on the gas tonight.
Speaker 4:Now let's get on Exodus, chapter 12, exodus, chapter 12. And, if you're with us, turn to Exodus, chapter 12, verse 1. And as you read from verse 1, it says the Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt. And as you read from verse 1, it says the Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt. So that's where I got the title from, because you know, when you think about the title of this this evening, it's from Egypt to the table. So the Passover actually started right in the hands of slavery, right in the hands of the oppressor, right in the hands of an awkward situation.
Speaker 4:When you study Egypt and you look at egypt and you really look at egypt right now. Egypt is a is a very powerful place. Now what do you mean? Very powerful? Egypt is steeped in in so much uh, how can we put it? You know, in in such spiritual ties. There is a lot of dark spiritual ties in Egypt and it always will be. Egypt is mentioned so many times. When you look at the pyramids and you look at everything the pharaohs and the valley of the kings and everything that's gone on, god used Egypt to bring his son out. It's really, really interesting.
Speaker 4:You know how Egypt has been such an important part of the scripture. So, wherever you are tonight and we want to encourage you to grab yourself a Bible the Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt so the Passover, it's really really important to me as a Bible believer, understanding that the feast of the unleavened bread and, as I understand the Passover, the breaking of the bread, the taking of the cup, has nothing to do with religion and it has nothing to do with the church. You know, the church has taken it, religion has taken it and it has changed it and switched it and moved it and it has brought control over that. But actually, when you go back, you know all those thousands of years, and you go back in the book of Exodus, you see the birth, the birth of what we are about to do this evening. You know there's nothing more powerful than breaking bread together and taking of the cup, the cup, the redemption cup. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've mentioned this over the years, over the months, right now, because I feel that god is really leading us to redemption.
Speaker 4:The whole bible, from genesis to revelations, is about redemption. The word of god is is redeeming every one of us. We are redeemed, we are blood washed, and this is done through the, through the exercise I'll use this the exercise of the passover table. We understand that jesus christ is the lamb that was slain, the, the lamb that, the lamb without blemish. When you look at the scriptures in exodus and I don't have the time to read it all the way through, and it says in verse 3, tell the whole community of Israel that on the 10th day of each month, a man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household. And as you read it further and I'm just quickly moving my eyes down you are to determine the amount of lamb that is needed in the corner to each person. And as you go over verse five, the animals you choose can only be a year old, male, without defect. Isn't that interesting that when you look and study about the passover supper, jesus is the lamb without blemish, the lamb you know, the lamb of god. When john was waiting in that, in that wasteland in the desert, when he was going to baptize Christ, christ come around the corner and John said the Lamb of God. It's very interesting that what John was saying he's referring right back to this fifth verse in Exodus, chapter 12. And it says in verse 6, take care of it until the 14th day of each month. And as you follow that through, I'm just going to quickly run through verse 7. And it says then they are all to take some of the blood and put it in the sides and the tops of the door frames of the house of each lamb and it must be eaten in that way. And as you look at this, it's really, really important In verse 12, let's jump down to verse 12.
Speaker 4:I'm sorry that I'm rushing this evening but time does not permit because it's such an enormous subject. And it says on the same night, I will pass through egypt, strike down each uh and every firstborn, both men and of animal. When you look at verse 12, that's a brutal text. You know the angel of death. This is. This is god. This is god telling us. And as you read it a little bit further on, and it says I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord. The blood will be a sign on you and on your house, where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.
Speaker 4:Isn't that interesting that God struck Egypt, but out of Egypt. When you look at the scriptures when Christ was birthed, we understand through the manger and through the story and the innkeeper said there's no room at the inn and everything was happening about the birth of Christ. And then, very, very interestingly, you know, the Bible says that God took Mary and Joseph and Jesus and he hid them in Egypt. Now I find this absolutely fascinating that God hid the living word, the lamb, the sacrificial lamb. He took Christ and his parents, mary and Joseph, and they went back, they went into, rather they went into Egypt. Now this is amazing. So what we have is Christ went into rather, they went into Egypt. Now this is amazing.
Speaker 4:So what we have is Christ went into Egypt as an infant. We understand that Christ is the living word. Christ is the sacrificial lamb the scripture tells us. It has given us clear understanding what God gave instruction to Moses and to Aaron take a lamb without blemish. And he tells us how this is to happen. Now it says that the blood will be a sign. So this is like, a few thousand years before Christ was birthed, that the Passover was being prepared. So the title of this evening's podcast study however you want to look at it for those that are journaling and making notes it's from egypt, from egypt to the table. Now. This is absolutely phenomenal, the way these scriptures run together, and I do not have the skill set, I do not have the vocabulary, I do not have, uh, the ability to do what has to be done, so all I can do is just lay a blanket out there for each and every one of us, and I apologize for speaking so quickly this evening.
Speaker 4:So what we have within the New Testament, we have in the Gospel of Luke that we've been looking at, that Jesus is preparing and getting ready for the Passover. Jesus Christ is the Passover lamb. And Jesus Christ as a one-year infant was taken into Egypt and he was hidden until it was safe. And then the Bible says God said out of Egypt, I will draw my son. That's what the scripture says. Out of Egypt, I will draw my son. Now what we have here is a clear understanding that God is giving instruction. A few thousand years before Christ came into this earth as the physical human being, the man, christ, Jesus, god is giving clear instruction to Moses and to Aaron of how to get the Passover ready. It has to be a lamb. We understand back in the new testament that john says look the lamb of god. God tells us a few thousand years before that takes place between john the baptizer and christ, at the river jordan, when christ was baptized by john the baptist.
Speaker 4:And when you look at those scriptures, I find it absolutely fascinating to think that the old testament and the new testament just run so fluid together, so powerful, so on point. So again, let me reiterate at this moment in time so in the new testament, in the gospel of luke, chapter 22, we find what we have is the execution and the fulfillment of the Lamb of God talking and breaking bread. This was the last supper. The last supper is such a powerful supper, but what actually is it? It's the bread and it is the cup, and I've got to be careful because I normally knock these little cups over. Thanks, alex, I've got it right there. So when you look at these scriptures Luke, chapter 22, christ is telling them get ready for the last supper, the Passover, the feast of the unleavened bread.
Speaker 4:Back in the book of Exodus, chapter 12, we read that God is giving clear instruction a few thousand years before Christ is doing this. So we've got one end of the scale up here where Christ is bringing it to the physical fulfillment of the scriptures. The scriptures were being fulfilled around the Passover table and then all of a sudden back a few thousand years. In Exodus, chapter 12, that we've read is the clear instruction. He says take a lamb, a lamb without blemish, without defect. The lamb has to be perfect. The Bible says Christ is perfect. He is without defect, without error, in every which way possible. So what you have is such an interesting story about the Passover.
Speaker 4:Again, let's reiterate, because it's too much for us to gather too much information the Gospel of Luke, chapter 22 is referring to the Passover, referring to the last supper and Christ. Just remember that Christ is having this garden, experience this garden of Gethsemane. If it's possible, take this cup from me. What cup was he referring to? He was referring to the cup that he was holding in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 22. And that cup is the cup of redemption.
Speaker 4:The scripture is about redemption Genesis to Revelation, the whole entire Bible 66 books you know, from Old to New Testament is about redemption, the redeeming blood of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. This is why I get so frustrated about religion and religion telling you that you can't take of the table. Because what we have in the gospel of luke that we've read already is that judas, iscariot and uh, amongst the, the chief priests and everything, the lawgivers wanted to get rid of jesus for a, for a cash sum. Isn't it interesting? All religion is interested in is money. All religion is interesting is the mechanisms and money.
Speaker 4:Let's come back to the scripture. So we are looking at the passover. The passover is such a powerful part of our fundamental christian values that we hold on the word of god. I need to understand what the book talks about, as in the Passover, and the Passover that we are looking at is about redemption, and redemption actually starts in Genesis. Redemption starts right back in Genesis, because that's what we are we are redeemed. What does it mean to have redemption? What does it mean to be redeemed? What does it mean to have redemption? What does it mean to be redeemed? Redemption and redeemed means to be bought back with a price. Now we find that this betrayer, the one that betrayed him, judas Iscariot, sold him for 30 pieces of silver, and we understand that the, the money was given back and then, all of a sudden, they said we can't take that money. You know, it is blood money. And then they went off and bought a field to fill the blood and everything that goes along with that.
Speaker 4:It's very, very interesting, this passover. It's something that I should know as a bible believing, believer. It's something that I should be very astute in and understanding what is happening, because it is critical, because what is it about? What is the that? What is the, the fact that we are getting to? We are talking about the blood of jesus, because there has to be bloodshed for the redemption and the remission of sin. The bible makes that extremely clear. There has to be bloodshed for the remission of sin.
Speaker 4:So, coming back to the scripture, we understand in the gospel of luke, chapter 22, we understand that christ is executing this last supper, this final supper, and this supper is what we are talking about in the book of exodus, chapter 12, and going into verse uh, 12 and 13 and have you look at that and it's worth you having a read of that. I'm sorry that I'm moving really, really quick. It's such a massive subject that we just got to keep this very fluid and keep it moving. So Exodus, chapter 12 is the physical instruction of how to prepare. You know your house, you know the Bible says when you have sacrificed that lamb without blemish, a young male, a year old, it says, when you have sacrificed that male, that young lamb, now remembering that John said look, the lamb of God. That lamb was without blemish. Christ is without blemish. So what we have again? I'm just going to repeat myself, just for the, for the understanding of where we sit Now.
Speaker 4:God took, god took Jesus, he took Mary and he took Joseph when Christ was born and he took him back. He took him into and he took him back into Egypt. Now, why did he take him back. It is important for me to understand, as a Bible believing believer, that he took him in and he held him in and he hid him in the face of adversity, because Egypt is steeped, very steeped, very powerful, in dark spiritual forces. But we can't worry about that. We can't allow ourselves to get caught in that, because if you are a Bible-believing believer, there's nothing to be fearful of. But Egypt and around them areas. It's very dark, it's steeped in all that stuff that goes on right, as I said, through the Valley of the Kings, all the pyramids and everything like that worshipping the sun gods. It's a nation that really worshipped foreign gods. So Egypt is critical in the scripture. It's critical in Christianity that I understand why Egypt was used.
Speaker 4:So when I look at these scriptures that we're in tonight, I just want to reiterate and go back and go back and forth and just keep going over this, because as we hear it more and more and more, we get a bit of a deeper understanding. So god took his son, god took the word of god. God took the word of god and he hid him in egypt with his mom and his dad until it was safe to come out. But the bible said that god said out of Egypt, I will draw my son. Now what is coming out of Egypt is the Passover. Jesus is the Passover, so twice. So in the Old Testament we see the birth of the physical Passover. It came out of Egypt and then christ was taken back into egypt the physical. So we have two physical understandings.
Speaker 4:So what we could actually say, without drilling too much into this, that the passover lamb was brought out twice out of egypt. Because the first time we understand that it is the clear instruction what was and how was the birth and the instruction, the clear instruction, of this passover. Let's just have a look at these scriptures for ourselves. It says on the same night, verse 12 of exodus, chapter 12 on the same night, I will pass through e Egypt and strike down every firstborn men and animals and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. It's really, really interesting that there are so many gods that are worshipped in Egypt even to this very day. And it says I am the Lord.
Speaker 4:The blood will be a sign. It is clearly important for me, as a bible believing believer, to understand that I need to very clearly get a grip that the blood of christ was shed at the cross of calvary. But also there was a forerunner, a forerunner of this, and this is this lamb that we are looking at here in the book of exodus, chapter 12, from verse 1, all the way through. This is such a powerful story, such a powerful biblical truth. So when we look about the basin, you look at the basin that was at the bottom of the door frame of the house. You know, god said when you uh, when you uh, sacrifice that lamb, take that blood, put it at the, the basin, at the footwell of the door, put the hyssop plant in that. And when you get that, uh, put that, put the blood on that and use that as, basically, as a paintbrush and put it over the doorpost, put it over the lintels of your house. And he says the blood will be a sign.
Speaker 4:I find it fascinating that this is all about christ being prepared for the passover and Christ is at the last supper. Christ is the one, the sacrificial lamb, and I've got to remind myself tonight that all of our sins, my sins, your sins, everything, history, the four, right now, the past, the present and the future is at and was at the cross of Calvary. You know, all sins have been washed in the blood of Jesus. There's something that God cannot remember. What can't God remember? You know, what does God forget? There is something that God forgets. What do you mean? God forgets? God clearly forgets that. The Bible says that he cannot remember our sins. That is something that God cannot do. He cannot backtrack, he cannot go back into the black book and to pull all what we've done out. The Bible says once you have been washed, you have been washed in the blood of Jesus. God has to, and he does forget our past. I find that beautiful, I find that absolutely fascinating. You know, it's really clear to understand that God never brings up our past, your past, my past. He's not interested in that. It is gone, it is washed, it is finished, it is dead, it is over, you know, because of the cross of calvary. So what we are looking at tonight is an enormous area, an enormous subject within the christian faith.
Speaker 4:It's really important to understand that when I go to a church or the church or wherever I go, I've got to make sure that that the pastors and the leaders are getting us to break bread and to take it a cup at every service. There is no excuse, because the Bible actually tells us as often as you gather together in my name, do this in remembrance of me. Why are you going to church? What is the purpose of church? The purpose of church is not just for fellowship. It's not just to have a croissant and a nice cup of coffee and to shake hands. Andissant and a nice cup of coffee, and to shake hands and to do a little bit of networking. If you are being told that you've got a network at church, that's a business terminology. We should not be networking at church, because networking is of this physical world. What we should be doing at church is worshipping the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords and breaking bread and taking of the cup.
Speaker 4:If you go to church, you have to expect to break bread and to take of the cup and in certain areas of certain religions, especially the ones that we are very familiar with, the priest will tell you that you can't take of the cup or you can't take of the bread unless you have danced through one, two, three, four hoops. Well, the Bible doesn't talk about that. That's called religion and we are not religious. So you don't even need a pastor, you don't even need a leader, you don't need even a church leader to tell you that you can break bread. The Bible tells you wherever you are, you know, on planet Earth, break bread on your own, sitting in your van, sitting on the edge of your bed, sitting in your garden. Wherever you are commuting on the train, whatever and wherever you are, you can break bread and take it a cup whenever you need to. It is critical that we actually do this. Never, ever, allow anyone to tell you that you can't break bread and take it a cup. It is absolute scripture. It is an absolute that we do this as often as we gather together in my name. That's what the Bible says.
Speaker 4:Coming back to the text that we are in, exodus, chapter 12, verse 12. On the same night, I will pass through Egypt and strike down the firstborn, both men and of animals, and I will bring judgment to all the gods of egypt. I am the lord. The blood will be a sign for your house, where you are. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike egypt. Oh, my goodness, god struck e Destruction was brought over, you know, because if God did not see the blood, that was the end, you know, I find it absolutely fascinating. The more we talk about this, the more we study this, the more we look at this.
Speaker 4:Now, tonight we are looking at the Passover table. We're going to go up to the New Testament in just a few moments and we're going to look about the last supper. So what we have, let's just reiterate. Let's just recap a moment, because I've said so much and sorry if I've been stumbling through my words, there's so much I feel that I need to get out. You know, and when I feel like that, I just like a machine gun, just words keep flying. So let's just calm down a little bit and let's just go back a moment.
Speaker 4:So what we have in the new testament, in the gospel of luke 22, we have christ preparing the 12 and getting ready for the last supper, known as the Passover. Christ is the Passover, he is the Passover lamb. The bible says that when he was gathering them together, he said I've eagerly awaited to do this with you. What do you mean? I have eagerly awaited? He has been waiting from this point of instruction in the book of exodus, a few thousand years before christ came into the world and the word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, sister and brother.
Speaker 4:It is critical that we break bread together. It is critical that you take it a cup. It is critical that we understand that the bread and the wine is not of religion. It is fundamental, it is a critical point to redemption and there is power in the blood of jesus. It is so important that we understand what this means. So when Christ was in the garden of Gethsemane, he said, if it is possible, take this cup from me. And there are four cups on the Passover table. And Christ was referring to the third cup.
Speaker 4:The third cup, as you know that I have repeatedly said over the years, the third cup is the cup of redemption. We have been redeemed. That basically means we have been brought back with the blood of Jesus and Christ and the Holy Spirit. And God cannot remember our history. Tell yourself tonight that the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit cannot remember the sins that I committed. The world does and the world loves bringing that up, isn't it interesting? The world wants to bring that up every day, but the Bible says God cannot remember. It is finished, it is gone, it is over. The power of God is beyond the test you of life. The power of God is beyond the fabric of the world. The power of God is beyond everything that we can imagine. It is beyond the mind.
Speaker 4:The power of God, when you think about what we are looking at, the power of this story, and when you look at these biblical facts right now, you know, christ was taken back into Egypt as a young infant. Christ was the Passover lamb and when he came out of Egypt he was still about a year old. Of Egypt, he was still about a year old. What does the Bible say? Get a lamb a year old out of Egypt. I called my son out of exile, out of slavery, out of the oppression, out of Pharaoh. I am bringing you out and God is telling me. God is telling you, wherever you are tonight. God is bringing you out. God is bringing you out of religion. God is bringing you wherever you are tonight. God is bringing you out. God is bringing you out of religion. God is bringing you out of all the issues. God is redeeming, god has redeemed. God is bringing you out because the Bible is completely about redemption.
Speaker 4:Again, let's just reiterate, you know, in Luke, chapter 22, we are looking at the Passover, the last supper, when Christ sits around the Passover table with everything that was happening the four cups, everything, the shank bone, the lamb, everything, the hyssop, you know, the herbs, the water, everything there, the wine, the cup that represented the blood of Jesus. You know you are washed in the blood of Jesus, you are cleansed by the precious blood of the Lamb. The Lamb that we are talking about is here, right before our very eyes. In Exodus, chapter 12, verse 12, and verse 5, and verse 1, verse 3, all the way through, the Bible talks about Christ as the sacrificial lamb, the lamb of God, the lamb that was slain. And you find this absolutely fascinating, that these scriptures are being executed in the gospel of Luke and the other gospels as well. You will find this story, you will find this biblical fact very, very clear from four different eyewitnesses account.
Speaker 4:But I just want to let you know tonight there is power in the blood of Jesus. There is power in the blood of Jesus wherever you are. So let's just take a moment. We're coming to the table in just a few moments, at 5 to 9 tonight, 855. The cameras will click out. You know the radio will carry on. If you're with us tonight on RB, christian Radio, god bless you. If you're on the social networks. God bless you. And we want to say thank you to the 25,000 people that are out there that are watching, listening, downloading, imagine, as I said earlier on, 25,000 plus all of us just in one place. So God bless you, wherever you are across the world tonight. I'm sorry that I've been speaking quick, you know, I'm sorry it's been a bit quick fire tonight, but this is just really resonating in my heart, my mind, my body, your soul.
Speaker 4:So in exodus, chapter 12, we are looking at the very beginning, the first instruction of how and what the Passover is all about. And then suddenly we find that in Luke, chapter 22, we find that Christ, at the end of his ministry, is fulfilling what the scriptures have spoken about. He said I've eagerly awaited to take this with you. He said I've eagerly awaited. He's referring, he's gone right back to the book of Exodus, chapter 12. He's talking about when he was present, when this was put into physical action. Moses and Aaron were given instruction, not the church. This is not a church activity. This doesn't belong to Elim. This doesn't belong to the Church of England. This doesn't belong to ealing. This doesn't belong to the church of england. This doesn't belong to ministry. This belongs to the word of god because this is about the blood of jesus christ.
Speaker 4:So, wherever you are tonight, don't let anyone stop you taking a breaking of the bread and taking it a cup. This is a powerful time, you know, as we gather around the table and we're going to gather in just a couple of moments, and we are going to and we're going to gather in just a couple of moments, and we are going to listen, and we're going to listen to the Lord's Prayer, and we're just going to take our time as we gather around the Passover table. We really need to get to grips. Well, I do. I don't know about you, brothers and sisters, you might be further on in the study of the breaking of the bread and taking of the cup, but before we have the Lord's Prayer, I just want to remind you.
Speaker 4:So, in Exodus, chapter 12, we have the birth of the Passover. This is what we are taking tonight. This is what we do Every time we come in this house, every time we're in the church together, we break bread together. Every service, every live stream, every in-house, every person, we break bread together. And it is critical that I understand that the birth of this was in Exodus, chapter 12, and then we find that in Christ, in the book of Luke, chapter 22, we find that Christ is bringing the Scriptures to fulfillment. Before he goes to the cross, he says I have eagerly awaited to take this and to do this with you. They didn't have a clue what he was talking about, but he was referring right back to the book of exodus.
Speaker 4:And let's go back to the birth of christ very, very quickly. So when christ was birthed, mary and joseph took him straight back in. You know, joseph got instruction go into Egypt and hide him there. I will give you clear instruction when to come out. So Christ came out of Egypt as the physical, the physical savior of the world. The instruction of the Passover was given in Egypt and that came out. So what we have? We have the fizzling physical, sorry instruction coming out of egypt. And also what we have is the, the physical christ coming out of egypt. God says out of egypt. I call my son, who is the lamb of god. It's so powerful I need to stop actually speaking because the clock is ticking and we got to break bread together. Right now we're going to listen to this prayer and then we're going to dive straight in to break bread together in the name of jesus.
Speaker 1:God bless you all I invite you to say the lord's prayer with me. Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us of our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory for ever and ever forever and ever.
Speaker 4:Amen, amen, amen. Father, as we come to you right now, in the mighty name of jesus christ, we break bread together across the other side of the world and lord, wherever we are, we thank you for the blood of jesus, we thank you for the body of christ. Right now, lord, we break bread not as religious people. We break bread as brothers and sisters. Maybe it's your first time. Just grab a bit of bread, you know. Grab yourself a bit of grape juice. You know, the bread doesn't have to be anything special. You know, when you look at bread, just just grab it. Wherever you are. You might have a bit of a burger bun, you might have a bit of a pit of bread, you might. Whatever it is, it's okay because it's what it symbolizes. That's the important thing to understand. So let's break bread together right now, across the world, 25 000 people and more. Right now, in the name of jesus, let's break bread together wherever you are tonight. Just remember that there was blood shed at the cross of calvary for you. He is the king of kings and he is the lord of lords. Father, right now, lord, we take this bread and lord, we believe in miracles, we believe in your word. We believe in the power of god, and I break bread together right now with brothers and sisters around the world on rb christian radio, on the social networks and listening as well through the power of podcast and lord. We understand that this bread symbolizes the body of Christ. So, lord, as I take this right now, I thank you for what this represents. In the name of Jesus, amen. The Bible says in the same way after supper, he took the cup, he gave thanks, he broke bread and he took the cup, the cup of redemption. I am redeemed, alex is redeemed, you are redeemed. It doesn't matter what the world says about you. Don't listen to what the world is saying about you. Find out who you are in Christ Jesus. God loves you. Maybe you've just dropped onto this because you're bored and suddenly you think oh watch, uh, the little fat vicar sitting there. I'm just going to listen to what he's rambling on about. You know, I want to tell you tonight that God loves you, that the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, is calling you wherever you are. You can't run from God. The scripture is true there is power in the name of Jesus. And Christ took this cup, and this cup was the third cup, the cup of redemption. So, father, we thank you for the third cup, the cup of the blood of Christ. And right now, lord, we understand that this is just grape juice in itself, whatever it may be. But, lord, cover me in the blood of Jesus from the crown of my head to the sole of my feet, wash me and cleanse me in the most beautiful, the most beautiful way in heaven and earth. So, father, I thank you for this in Jesus' name, amen. What I find fascinating is that you don't need to be in church to do this, because this instruction was given outside of church. It was given outside of religion. Elim wasn't around when the instruction was given. No church was around.
Speaker 4:In the book of Exodus, chapter 12. It was given in a place of slavery. It was given in a place of darkness. The land of Egypt was dark and this was given in a dark place, but out of the darkness God calls. The Bible says that God called his son out of Egypt. The Bible says that God called his son out of Egypt, john. When John see Jesus come round the corner, he said look, the Lamb of God. The scriptures were being fulfilled, you are redeemed, you are blood washed and sanctified. We got two minutes and we are out of here.
Speaker 4:In the name of Jesus, we want to encourage you tonight. Never give up. Never allow history to control you. Never allow people of your historical stuff to control you. Don't allow the devils of the world to dictate to you. Hold on to the word of God and trust God in everything you do and everything you say.
Speaker 4:I'm so sorry that I've spoken so fast tonight. I've rambled on, but there was just so much ground to cover and so much traction we had to build up tonight. And I want to tell you tonight that God is with you. The power of the word of God is in your life. Never give up. The spirit of the living God is over you. Let's pray as we come to a close. We've just got over a minute.
Speaker 4:Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you and, father, we thank you for the power of the Word of God and will you encourage us tonight in Jesus' name? Will you strengthen us tonight? In the name of Jesus, will you just cover us in the blood? So tonight, lord, actually we've got more than that. We've got about five minutes, so let's just take some time. Father, we come to you tonight as brothers and sisters across the world, and through the chaos, through the turmoil, through the worry, through the fear, lord, we, we lay everything down at the foot of the cross this evening and, lord, let your power, let your mercy just come into our lives tonight. In the name of jesus, spirit of the living god, will you stir us? Thank you that we are redeemed, that we are blood washed and sanctified. Father, we are so blessed, we are so rich in you tonight, lord, and just remind yourself, wherever you are across the world, that the lamb that was slain was jesus christ. He went to the cross of calvary. Your history has been buried.
Speaker 4:God cannot look at historical events. It is finished, it was executed, and I find it absolutely mind-blowing, outside of the human understanding of life itself, that he knew every action, every failing, every area. I would foul him, but he still chose to save me. He still chose to bring us into the world. He still chose to bring us into where we are at this moment in time, because he's a God of redemption, he's a God of love, he's a God of power, he's a God of justice and order, he is the God of Israel, he is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He is the great I am. And he sent his one and only son to the cross of Calvary John 3, 16,. For God so loved the world that whosoever shall believe in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
Speaker 4:You know, we've been looking at the Passoversover lamb tonight. We've been looking just very simply at the scriptures again. I apologize for rambling and speaking so fast tonight, but I want to tell you one more time that god loves you. God loves you beyond what you could ever imagine or ask. He loves you beyond your comprehension. He loves you beyond every area of life itself. The Passover lamb was taken out of Egypt and taken right away to the cross of Calvary, and when Jesus Christ said it is finished with that, he bowed his head Suddenly.
Speaker 4:We find that the new covenant, an area that we wasn't even able to get to tonight. Jesus said this is the new covenant. What he is referring to was the new beginning, the new testament. He says I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. There is power and there is life in the blood of Jesus.
Speaker 4:I want to encourage you tonight to grab a Bible. I want to encourage you tonight to get into prayer. I want to encourage you tonight to realize that history cannot be resurrected through God, through Christ, through the Holy Spirit. You know, history is only resurrected by certain characters in our lives. But God cannot remember. God cannot remember my historical failings because they was nailed to the cross before I even lived it, before I walked it, before I even executed the sin, before I walked through the sin, before I delivered the sin. It was already now to the cross of Calvary, before we even came into existence. It is beyond the mind, it is beyond the concept, it is behind the thinking. Thinking, it is beyond the rationale of life that every sin was now to the cross of calvary. And he looks at me and he looks at you, completely different to how the world views us, and he looks at you with love, he looks at you with hope and he says that's my, my son, that's my daughter. And he died. He went to the cross of Calvary because he is the Passover lamb. Let's just remind ourselves tonight, let's just quickly recap so what we had.
Speaker 4:We have been in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 22, when Christ is preparing and getting everything ready for the last supper, the Passover lamb. He was getting ready. He was referring to the third cup, the cup of redemption, the scripture that we read and what we hear about. When Christ was in the garden of Gethsemane, he said, father, if it's possible, take this cup from me, because that cup in the garden that he was referring to was representing the cross of Calvary. But he said not my will, thy will be done.
Speaker 4:We looked very, very briefly in the Old Testament. We was in Exodus, chapter 12, and we are coming to a close right now. So Christ is the fulfillment of the old testament. You are blood washed, sanctified in the mighty name of jesus christ. Wherever you are across the world, we thank you for joining us tonight. May god bless you and strengthen you. And just remind yourself, as we click out right now you, you are blood washed, you are redeemed, and God loves you and the Holy Spirit is in your life and the word of God is sitting in your spirit. Have a great day, have a great evening, wherever you are, and just remind yourself I am redeemed, I am blood washed. God bless, we will see you soon.
