Unshakeable - Daily Devotional - @5 Anchor in the Storm
Anchored in Hope – Hebrews 6:19 | Unshakeable: A Daily Christian Devotional Podcast with Reverend Ben Cooper
Welcome to Unshakeable: A Daily Christian Devotional Podcast — your source of daily biblical encouragement, hope, and strength in Christ. In today’s soul-stirring episode, Reverend Ben Cooper explores Hebrews 6:19, offering life-changing insight into the powerful promise of God’s hope: “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” If you’re feeling overwhelmed by life’s storms — whether emotional, spiritual, financial, or relational — this message is for you.
We live in a world that feels increasingly unstable. Anxiety, fear, and uncertainty often toss us around like waves in a violent sea. But Scripture offers a firm foundation. Reverend Ben unpacks what it means to be anchored in Christ, explaining how God’s promises give us stability even when everything else around us feels chaotic. He draws on powerful biblical imagery, likening our spiritual security to the disciples’ stormy experience on the Sea of Galilee — and showing how Christ calms the storm, not always by changing the weather, but by anchoring our hearts in truth.
This devotional includes:
- A practical breakdown of Hebrews 6:19 and its connection to our daily walk with Jesus
- Real-world encouragement for anyone struggling with anxiety, spiritual fatigue, or emotional upheaval
- A time of heartfelt prayer for strength, peace, and renewed confidence in God’s promises
- Guidance on anchoring your soul in the eternal hope found only in Christ
What makes this anchor so profound is not what it’s tied to, but where it’s secured — in the very presence of God. Through Christ, we have access “behind the curtain,” into the holy of holies. No matter how intense the storm, your anchor holds firm when it's fastened to God’s truth.

Welcome to Unshakable, a daily Christian devotional podcast. I'm Reverend Ben Cooper and each day we open up God's word to strengthen our faith, encourage our hearts and help us to stand on the word of the gospel of truth, no matter what life throws our way. This is a listener supported podcast and we cannot do this without you. If this ministry blesses you, please consider supporting us very simply by three pound a month on. Buy me a coffee. You can find this on rbchristianradionet. Every gift makes a difference. Your support helps us reach many people with the gospel across the world. Let's dive straight into today's devotional and discover the power of God's unshakable truth. Let's turn to the book of Hebrews, chapter 6, and we're going to go from verse 19. I'm going to read this very simply and very easily, and the title of this is Hope Anchored in God. Do you realize that you're anchored in God? That you realize that you're anchored in God, that you are steadfast in the God of Israel, that you cannot be shaken? It doesn't matter what comes your way? Just like a vessel on the ocean, it has an anchor. When the storm comes and it needs to throw that anchor out, what do we do? We throw everything we got to the cross of Calvary and we say Lord, the cross is my anchor, your love is my anchor. Hope abounds, you know, without further ado, let's read the scripture for today. So, wherever you are, we thank you for joining us today. And we're in verse 19 of Hebrews, chapter 6, for this daily devotion. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure, it enters into the inner sanctuary, behind the curtain. We have a anchor of hope. God is your hope, god is your redeemer, whatever life looks like. If you feel like you're the vessel on the waves of life, on the storm and there's a storm brewing over your life If you feel that you're a vessel out at sea, you're in uncharted territory, just like the Israelites when God said to them get ready, because I'm going to extract you from the desert, be prepared. You have never been this way before.
Speaker 1:I believe that there are many listening to this daily devotional podcast that God is about to raise you up, god is about to set you free. You have been on and through the storms of life far too long and God is calling you. But we need to drop that anchor, that anchor of hope, that anchor of faith. We need to just drop that and say dear God. I believe right now, lord, that I'm anchored in you and, lord, doesn't matter how big and how ferocious this storm is, lord, when I drop the anchor, I've got an anchor of hope. It's firm and it's secure and it is in the gospel of jesus christ. You know everything you've got. Give it to jesus. You know you are anchored, I am anchored in hope.
Speaker 1:We cannot be capsized out of the vessel that we sail in. You know there are storms at this moment in time across the world. Things are happening through israel and we pray for israel through this daily devotion. We pray that god will move through israel and there will be peace. But there are storms at this moment and every vessel that we sail in, every, every boat that we cross the ocean of life. Just drop the anchor of hope and realize that you are secure and you are safe and you are firm.
Speaker 1:Do you feel that you're on this, just like on the lake of galilee, when that, that serious squall came down out of nowhere and the disciples were put out to cross the lake and Jesus said you go ahead of me, you go ahead of me. And out of nowhere a storm came down called the Northeaster and it whipped across the lake and it shook the boat that they was riding sailing in, that they was crossing the lake in, you know, sometimes out of nowhere, nowhere, the wind of change turns on us and suddenly the vessel that we are sailing in suddenly looks extremely precarious. Are you sailing in a vessel that seems to be very precarious? Are you worried about money? Do you have anxiety? Is there fear in the skin that you walk in?
Speaker 1:I want to tell you now, through the scripture that we've read out, you are anchored in hope. Hope is the anchor and you are grafted into the vine. You are grafted in and God has you. Let's get to a position of prayer. Shall we pray together. Whether you're commuting, whether you're at home, wherever you are sitting back having a cup of coffee, a cup of tea, wherever you are and whatever you are doing, we pray that through this daily devotion, you will find the presence and the Holy Spirit in your life like never before. You will be able to relax and to be still in the mighty name of Jesus, because you are anchored in hope, you are steadfast in the word and the love of God is over you.
Speaker 1:So let's pray, father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you and we believe that we are anchored in the God of Israel. We believe that we are anchored in hope. We believe in the power of the Word of God. We believe that, through these 15-minute devotional podcasts, that the presence of God is moving. We have this hope, god. We have this hope and we are anchored in Him. Our soul is firm and secure. Father, we thank you that we can go behind the holy of holies.
Speaker 1:So right now, lord, I pray for anyone that is in this devotional podcast at this moment. Lord, as we turn the word, as we open up the word of God and as the word of God opens our heart up through Hebrews, chapter 6, verse 19, we realize that hope anchored in God is love. So, father, we are loved and we are anchored and we are grafted into the vine, and nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus. Father, we stand on your word. Lord, we wrestle with you, sometimes just like Jacob and Lord, we don't want to let you go. Lord, we need this anchor, we need this hope, we need this freedom. The Bible says you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.
Speaker 1:So today, lord, we are anchored in hope, we are anchored in love, we are anchored in the God of Israel and nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus. So through this prayer time, we pray, father, that sickness will bow to the name of Jesus, that fear will bow to the name of Jesus, that fear will bow to the name of Jesus, that doubt will go to the name of Jesus. And, father, we rest in the arms of the King. And today, lord, wherever we are situated across the world, we believe in miracles, we believe in the fire of God, we believe in the power of the Holy Spirit. So, lord, will you enrich our lives with joy and hope today, Because our hope is anchored in you, our faith is anchored in you and Father, through the book that we read, hebrews 6, 19,. We have a hope that is anchored and is secure and firm in the arms of the eternal father. And today, lord, we believe sickness has gone, we believe fear has gone, we believe doubt has gone and in the greatest name in heaven and earth, we are redeemed. We are redeemed and we are blood washed and sanctified, children of the most high. So, father, through this morning devotion, this afternoon devotional, this evening prayer time and meditation time. Whenever we are listening to this podcast, we thank you that the fire of God is over us.
Speaker 1:And, lord, as we pray, pray as we read scripture, as we stand on the word, as sisters and brothers of hope, we believe in miracles. We believe in miracles and there is breakthrough right now in our workplace. There is breakthrough in our relationships. There is breakthrough with the children. There is breakthrough in business. There is breakthrough in our lives. There is breakthrough because the blood has set us free and we have this faith today, god, and we are believing that miracles are running over our lives.
Speaker 1:Just like elijah, he ran in his miracle. He prayed for rain and the torrent come down and they were saturated in what he prayed for. Father, saturate us in what we pray for. Let it rain today, god. Let your love just rain down, because we are anchored in hope, we are anchored in the eternal God, we are anchored and steadfast in the scripture. So today, lord, whatever we may be going through, even though this vessel that we sail in is being rocked to the left and the right, our anchor is in you, our hope is in you and nothing can shake this unshakable faith.
Speaker 1:God, your word is true and we need you today, jesus. We need the Father, the Son and we need you today, jesus. We need the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, and will you touch our lives, father, will you strengthen us, will you lift us and carry us? So, father, bless us through this devotional moment, bless us through this prayer time together in the name of Jesus, and we worship the eternal God, the God above all gods. In the name of Jesus, amen. Wherever you are situated across the world, you are anchored in hope. Your soul is firm and secure. You are blessed and highly favoured, wonderfully and fearfully made, and Christ has his arms around you and the presence of the Holy Spirit is in your life. And the eternal Father, our Father, who art in heaven, he loves you, he loves me and he loves you, and we have this hope. Let's just repeat this just a few moments Hebrews 6, verse 19. We have this hope as an anchor for our soul, firm and secure. It enters into the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.
Speaker 1:Do you know we got access? Do you realize you got access to the Father? Do you realize that there's access to the eternal God, the God of Israel? How is there access, reverend? How do I have this access?
Speaker 1:Jesus has been taken over 2,000 years. I don't have the autonomy and the physicality of Christ before me, but it's by faith. He's living in your heart. He's in your mind, your body, your soul. The Bible says greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world. The world, this invisible God, is accessible because access became possible when Jesus Christ said it is finished, you are free and you have a hope anchored in the God of Israel. Israel, and the God of Israel has put angels to flight because he cares for you. May God bless you and strengthen you wherever you are, but realize tonight, this morning, in the middle of the night, early hours of the morning, whatever you may be doing at this time, that you have a hope and that hope is anchored in the triune Godhead and Jesus is the way he says. I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me. It is through Jesus, and Jesus is the living word. Open your Bible and read that holy word, because he's there for you, he loves you. There is access to the eternal God through the holy word, the scripture we want to thank you for joining us today on Unshakable, a daily Christian devotional podcast.
Speaker 1:If today's devotion has encouraged you, please share and consider this to be pushed out to your pastors, your leaders, your brothers, your sisters, your friends, your families. It helps people discover God's word and please remember that this is a listener-supported ministry and you can help us push these podcasts out and these daily devotionals by supporting us, by buy me a coffee, three pound a month.
