Courage Over Fear – Isaiah 41:10 | Unshakeable: A Daily Christian Devotional Podcast

Welcome to Unshakeable: A Daily Christian Devotional Podcast — your daily source of biblical truth, encouragement, and strength. In today’s episode, Reverend Ben Cooper tackles one of the most universal battles we face: fear. Anchored in Isaiah 41:10“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God” — this powerful devotional offers a lifeline to those weighed down by anxiety, insecurity, or self-doubt.

Fear is something we all face — fear of failure, rejection, illness, the future, or the unknown. These emotions can paralyze us. But Scripture reminds us that we don’t have to navigate life’s storms alone. God’s promise in Isaiah is not just a verse to memorize but a divine declaration of His presence, strength, and victory over the fears that try to cripple us.

Reverend Ben dives deep into how fear distorts reality, acting like a "black cloud" that blocks the light of truth. But the Word of God pierces through that cloud. With faith declarations like “Today, I rise,” and “I will not be defined by fear,” this devotional teaches you how to transform your mindset and reclaim the authority God has given you in Christ.

You’ll gain practical strategies for overcoming anxiety through biblical affirmations, declaring victory aloud, and choosing courageous action over fearful hesitation. It’s not about denying what scares you but walking through it with divine strength. This episode is especially helpful for those dealing with social anxiety, burnout, depression, past trauma, or feeling spiritually stuck.

Without further ado, let's dive in to the Holy Word of God today, this devotional message, and discover the power of God's unshakable truth. Let's get straight into the Word of God. And what are we looking at today? Today's title is Courage Over Fear. Courage Over Fear. If you have a Bible, please turn with me. If you are commuting, if you are traveling, if you are wherever you are, whatever your time zone is, may God strengthen you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. If you can't get a word of God at this moment in time. Please just sit back, relax, grab a coffee, a cup of tea, as we just go through this devotional message, just for these few moments, and we're in Isaiah 41, and we're in verse 10. So do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Shall we pray, father, in the name of Jesus. We stand on the crest of a wave of another day and, lord, we are expecting miracles. We're expecting the fire of God to consume us all the way around and to lift us and to carry us. But let the joy of the Lord be our strength today because, lord, we do not want fear to dictate to our life. We want courage over fear. So, lord, let the joy of the Lord be our strength. So, wherever we are across this world, we shall not let fear win. We will rise on wings as of eagles. So, father, we thank you that fear is not holding us down, fear is not chaining us to the seat of adversity. We rise like eagles today, on wings. As of eagles, we rise out of the ashes of doubt, we rise out of the ashes of fear. We rise up today, lord, and we say fear be gone at the name of Jesus. So, father, wherever people are listening today, can you encourage them and strengthen them. Let the joy of the Lord be their strength, whether they're commuting, traveling at school, on the school run, sitting at at home. Let the fire of god rest on them in jesus name, amen.

Isaiah 41. The book of isaiah 41, verse 10. Let's read this and just take our time as we just stretch through this devotional message today. So do not fear, for I am with you. Devotional message today. So do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Let's just take it through the midway point. I will strengthen you. God is strengthening you right now.

Speaker 1:

There's adversity in your life. There's adversity in your life. There's fear in your life. There's doubt, there's uncertainty. The mind is at 50-50. We're in the garden of uncertainty. We're in uncertain territory today. We are sailing across waters that we never thought that we would sail across. There is turbulence, there is fear, there is doubt, there is worry. There is this rush of uncertainty in our mind and our heart, but the god that we serve, the king that went to the cross of calvary, is telling me and telling you ben, do not fear, for I am with, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. The Father of fathers, the God above all gods, the King above all kings, the Savior of the world, is with you. That fear has to go. World is with you. That fear has to go. That fear has to be removed from your life. Take courage today, stand strong today and realize who you are in the eternal king. Realize who you are in the power of the word of God. Get the scripture today, open up the word to Isaiah 41, verse 10. So, do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. God is strengthening you. The holy glory of God is with you, the power of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit.

Speaker 1:

So how do we make this a practical application? It's so easy, isn't't it? Just to speak these scriptures and not, and to try not and to possibly look at these words and just think that they're just words. But they're not just words, they are holy words from the word of god. I've got to turn this into a practical application in my life. So how do I do this?

Speaker 1:

I grab a Bible, I open it up to the text that we are in and, as my eyes read the Holy Word of God, I say to myself, through the practical power of speech Father, today I take a hold of this fear, and I do this through faith. I do this through Hebrews 11, verse 1. Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. So today, lord, I, practically, through the power of speech and through the power of belief, I believe that fear is being removed. And, lord, I see the fear being removed right now. I see the black cloud disappearing from my heart, my mind, my body, my soul. I see this black cloud of heaviness, of doubt. I see it being removed, just like a rain cloud, disappearing into the far slung sky of the heavens above. Lord, I see it disappearing. I believe, lord, in my spirit, that fear is not part of my life. I believe that the power of the word is over me. God is with you.

Speaker 1:

How do we turn these scriptures into practical applications? I believe, I believe and I believe and I put these words into action and I say today I grab hold of this fear through my mind, through my thinking, through my cognitive processing, through this human way that I live, lord, I take hold of this fear and I take hold of it through the power of word and I speak to this fear and I say be gone. At the name of Jesus, I'm not going to wrestle this fear anymore. I'm not going to cry over this situation anymore, I'm not going to allow this fear to beat hard and strong in my head. But I'm going to take this and I'm going to say now, in the name of Jesus Lord, erase these thoughts, erase this mind of uncertainty. Lord, remove the ifs, the buts, the possibles, the maybes, and Lord, remove the uncertainty and the doubt that fear starts to stir up the bin of opportunities.

Speaker 1:

So today, lord, I choose to rise, I choose to stand on the word. Today, I choose to get out of bed. Today, I choose to put my shoes on. Today, I choose to get my coat. Today, I choose to leave this house and I'm not going to allow social anxiety to hold me back. I'm not going to allow anxiety to stop me going to school. I'm not going to allow anxiety to stop me going to school. I'm not going to allow anxiety to stop me getting into this world.

Speaker 1:

Lord, I choose by faith, I rise in faith, I walk by faith. I allow this word to lead me. I'm letting the word of God take hold of my life. And Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, this fear has to go. You know, it's going to melt like a mountain of wax. It's going to go at the name of Jesus, because the Bible says so.

Speaker 1:

Do not fear, for I am with you, your God is with you, your King is with you. Your King is with you. Do not be dismayed in the face of adversity, for I am your God. The God of Israel, the father of Isaac, jacob and Abraham, is with you Wherever you are. What country are you in? What nation are you in? What city are you in? God is with you. Look in the mirror and tell yourself I rise today, not because of my physicality, not because of my strength, but because greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world.

Speaker 1:

I choose to leave this house today, I choose to drive my car. I choose to leave this house. Today, I choose to drive my car. I choose to get to work. I choose because I am not allowing fear to dictate to me, because my God will strengthen me. Do you need strength today? Do you need that strengthening in your spirit? I will strengthen you, says the Lord. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. The King is for you. The Savior of the world is in your life.

Speaker 1:

Are you facing a job opportunity today, an interview? Is there something in your education at university and school that is worrying you? Have you got something at home that is really troubling you? Are you living in fear of what people might say about you if your history gets out the bag? Do not allow demonic forces to hold you. In your history, the says all have sinned and fallen short of thy glory. There is only one righteous and his name is Jesus. Don't allow the history to hold you back. Don't allow the fear of what people may say could say to hold you back. Do not allow the historical events to freeze you, but rise up today and realise the God above all gods, the saviour of the world.

Speaker 1:

The writer of Isaiah 41.10 says so do not fear, for I am with you.

Speaker 1:

Do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

Speaker 1:

I will strengthen you and help you.

Speaker 1:

I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Speaker 1:

Shall we pray, father, I pray for this scripture today. I pray from the Old Testament of Isaiah, 41, verse 10. I pray that this word will release me from doubt. This word will release me from fear. This word will release me from fear. This word will release me from uncertainty. That this word will heal me.

Speaker 1:

Father, I pray for mental health. Today. I pray that fear will break at the sound of the name of Jesus. So, lord, as we rest in your presence, as we call on the greatest name in heaven and earth, as we look to the great, I Am Jehovah Jireh, jehovah Nissi, jehovah Shalom. I pray for the listeners today that you will strengthen them and carry them and lead them, and they will know that their redeemer lives and because he lives, they can face tomorrow. So, wherever, whoever, whatever they look like, I pray that the fire of god and the presence of the holy spirit will be with them today and they will know that Jesus Christ has removed all fear. So today, lord, as we come to you, let your will be done, let your mercies unfold, because your blessings are new every morning. I pray that cancer will bow and you will have unshakable faith. I pray that heart disease will go. You will have unshakable faith. I pray that heart disease will go and the fear of dying will go and the fear of the lack of. I pray that you will have courage to stand strong on the word of God today, that you will have courage to rise. Courage over fear. From the book of Isaiah 41, verse 10. From the book of Isaiah 41, verse 10. May the God above all gods, may the King above all kings lead you in paths of righteousness for his namesake.
