Out of the Pit: The Power of Waiting on God – Psalm 40

The Bible

Feeling stuck in life’s miry clay? In this soul-stirring episode, we dive into the timeless truth of Psalm 40, where David cries out, “I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry.”

If you’re battling financial pressure, relationship struggles, chronic illness, mental fatigue, or emotional isolation—this message is for you. With heartfelt teaching and passionate prayer, we explore what it means to wait patiently on God when you feel buried by life’s burdens. You'll hear that God not only hears your cry—He responds, lifting you from the mud and placing your feet on solid ground.

We don’t stop at the surface. This episode draws a powerful contrast between religion and relationship, reminding us that what we need isn’t more routine—it’s more of Jesus. The Spirit of God, promised in John 14, is our Comforter, Counselor, and constant companion, even in our loneliest moments.

Whether you're sitting in traffic, walking through grief, or wiping away tears in secret, this message delivers a clear and compassionate truth: God is with you. He sees you. He will not leave you in the pit.

The episode concludes with a deeply personal communion moment, reminding listeners that Jesus is present wherever you are—even “33,000 feet in the heavens.” It's not about location or tradition—it’s about a living, breathing relationship with Christ through the Holy Spirit.

We thank you to everybody on the social networks now watching this live stream service. And as we push this across the other side of the world, may god just strengthen, strengthen you and lead you.

Speaker 2:

We're in Psalm 40 as coffee and prayer. We've been gathering for such a long time now around the mics, in the studio and in the church, many, many years ago, but we want to say thank you for your support for so many years. Thank you for everybody, wherever you are this morning and our hearts are really warm with so much support. We are so, so blessed. And wherever you are at this moment in time, let's just get straight into the scriptures. Let's just pray. Let's ask God that he will move straight into our hearts and our lives like never before.

Speaker 2:

Are you hungry for God? Are you hungry for a move of the Holy Spirit? Are you looking for significant change in your life? Are you looking for the glory of God? Are you really fed up with the world? Are you tired with situations that are happening around you? Whether you're on radio, whether you're on camera right now, whether you're on podcast, we welcome you right now and God is with you. Wherever you are across the world, the Holy Spirit is leading you. The fire of God is in your belly. You are not watching this live stream by chance this morning. You're not listening by coincidence, because coincidence doesn't exist in the kingdom of God. You are here, you are listening because of divine destiny and God has a place for you. God has a place for you and God is looking at your life right now and God is calling you. God is leading you.

Speaker 2:

Are you worried? Are you fearful? Are you doubtful? What is going on in the circle of your life? We pray that you will feel the love of God and the power of the Holy Spirit, that you will just find freedom. This morning we pray for freedom.

Speaker 2:

Let's just bring this to the table, you know. Is there mental health issues? Is there fear going on? Are you worried about finances? Are you worried about the children, your job, your life, whatever is going on?

Speaker 2:

You know it's not church that we need, it's Jesus. It's not religion that we need. It is the power of the Holy Spirit. It is not the fabric of the building and the wills of the mechanisms of religion. We need the Holy Spirit. We need to realize that it's not the structure of church, it's not the religious push that we need, it is the power of the Word of God. And you know the Word of God is with you, the Holy Spirit is with you. So let's pray before we go any further.

Speaker 2:

As I said earlier, we're going to Psalm 40, you know, and the Bible says in Psalm 40, earlier. We're going to Psalm 40, you know, and the Bible says in Psalm 40, david writes I waited patiently for the Lord. He turned to me and he heard my cry. Father, in the name of Jesus, we believe in the word of God, that the word of God is without error. And as we come to you now, lord, father, we just wait, lord, we just wait right now, lord, help us to be patient, help us to gather our thoughts. Help us, lord, to be calm in the situation that we're in, father, will you lead us in paths of righteousness? But, lord, just as David did, lord, we wait patiently for the Lord. Father. As we wait, lord, in this area of our life, lord, maybe in no man's land, maybe in this 50-50 position in the desert, lord, where we feel, lord, that we're in the wasteland of life, father, as we wait for you, father, we're asking that you will give us more patience and more faith in the desert of uncertainty, lord, that you will steer us and lead us. Father, just like the Israelites that was in the wilderness for all those years, father, we believe that you're going to lead us out of the wilderness, out of the dry situation.

Speaker 2:

Lord, we are parched, we are thirsty, we are hungry for a move of the Holy Spirit in this nation. We thank you that there is a move of the Holy Spirit. We thank you that the God that we serve is moving in this nation. We thank you that the power of the Scripture, lord, is moving in our lives. Lord. We believe, lord, that the glory of God is all around us.

Speaker 2:

We believe that this nation, this UK, great Britain, england, whatever title is over the door of this nation today. We believe that this nation belongs to God. We believe that this nation belongs to the God of Israel. We believe that Jesus Christ is moving over this nation through this nation. We believe that we are seeing a turnaround for the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that we might be in the valley of the shadow of death. We might be just like that great prophet when God said go down to that valley, look at the dry bones. We believe that the dry bones are starting to live. We believe that you are breathing breath and fresh air and oxygen into this nation. We believe that the breath of God is breathing into the desert of the UK.

Speaker 2:

So, lord, we wait patiently for the Lord. We ask you, father, for those that are worried about finances this morning, that they will wait patiently. We pray for those that feel unwell this morning, that are waiting on results from doctors from the area, lord of health, we pray that they will wait patiently, father. We pray for those that are in relationship issues that they will wait patiently. We pray for those that are worried about life and fear, lord, that are just living on the cliff edge of life. Father, we pray that they will wait patiently, that you will speak to them clear, lord. We ask you that you will remove, lord, that you will remove straight away the worry of financial pressure, that you will bring freedom to those that are worried about finances, maybe those that are in debt, those that just can't see a way out of this financial arena.

Speaker 2:

Father, we wait patiently for God. We ask you, father, for those that are in church and in ministry. We pray, lord, that we will wait patiently for such a great outpouring of your Spirit. Lord, and as you move across this nation, we pray for this government that you will bless this government from the crown of their head to the sole of their feet. That the love of God will move powerfully and clearly, lord, that we will see the glory of our God.

Speaker 2:

But right now we pray for those that are just aching in their bones because of fear. We pray, lord, as the scripture says, that perfect love drives out all fear. And this morning, lord, for those that are fearful, those that are doubtful, those that are worried, those that are uncertain in the life that they are living, lord, we pray that you will stir hearts today, that you will stir hearts. So, lord, as the psalmist says in Psalm 40, I waited patiently for the Lord. He turned to me and he heard my cry. He lifted me up out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and out of the mire. He set my feet upon the rock. He gave me a firm place to stand. Lord, I pray right now that you will give us a firm place to stand in the name of Jesus, wherever we are across the world, whatever our time zone is. For those that are listening in other nations, for those that are outside the UK, we pray, lord, that an outpouring of your Spirit will keep them in the faith. That you will keep them on the rock, lord, that this will be the day that the Lord has made. We shall rejoice and be glad, lord, we pray that anointing will move, that the Holy Spirit will move, lord, for those that are living on islands, for those that are living in vast areas. Lord of the world, father, we pray for wherever these ears are on the other side, lord of the radio, and where these eyes are on the other side of the lens. We pray, father, for the glory of God to touch hearts.

Speaker 2:

Today, lord, we believe in breakthrough. We believe that our God, our God, is destroying the walls of Jericho. We believe our God is opening up the Red Sea. We believe our God is opening up the River Jordan. We believe our God is hardening the heart of Pharaoh. We believe our God is removing Pharaoh. We believe our God is leading us in paths of righteousness. We believe in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe in this word. We believe in the doctrines of grace. We believe in this word. We believe in the doctrines of grace. We believe in the fundamental points of the, the scriptures. We believe that jesus christ is the savior of the world. We believe that he is the coming king.

Speaker 2:

We believe, as we wait patiently for the lord, as we wait patiently in our situations, we ask you, lord, that you will give us peace. Lord. We need peace today, lord. We need peace. And for those that are listening, father, through the airways, those that are online with us today, father, we ask that you will give us peace in the name of Jesus Christ. So, as the psalmist writes in Psalm 40, I waited patiently for the Lord. He turned to me and he heard my cry. He lifted me up out of the slimy pit, out of the mud, out of the mire. He set my feet upon a rock. He gave me a firm place to stand. Father, in the name of Jesus, you are lifting us out of the slimy pit, lord.

Speaker 2:

You are hearing the cry of the children of the living, god, lord, as everyone is listening across the world this morning, you are hearing the cry of the Bible-believing believers. You are hearing the cry of the lost. You are hearing the cry of the church, lord, I believe for everyone that was listening, lord, to our voice at this moment. You are speaking to them wherever they are, lord, you know their heart. You are hearing their cry, their war cry, their prayer cry, lord, their heart for those that have got a broken heart. Heal the broken hearted today. Set those that are crushed in spirit free. Lord, you tell us who the son sets free is free. Indeed, lord. Let your power, let your mercy, lord, come down like never before. Lord, as we lean into the gospel of Jesus Christ, we believe in the power and the word of God. I waited patiently for the Lord. God is listening. God is with you.

Speaker 2:

Wherever you are right now, you are not alone. God is with you. You might be at work and there's people around you. You might have a lot of noise going on in your life and you feel really lonely, but God is with you. You might be on a school run and you're crying as you're driving. God is with you. You might be at work. You might be at school. You might be at home in complete despair. You might be trying to sleep at this hour. God is with you. Despair you might be trying to sleep at this hour. God is with you. You might feel lost in society and culture. God is with you. You are not alone.

Speaker 2:

God has turned his face to you. He is hearing your war cry. He is hearing the depth of your heart. He is hearing your spirit cry out to him this morning. And God is saying trust me, trust me, I'm going to lift you out of the slimy pit. I'm going to lift you out of the mud and the mire. I'm going to put your feet on the rock. I'm going to set your feet on a rock. I am with you. Do not worry. Wherever you are this morning, do not worry, god is with you. The Holy Spirit is leading you. He's putting your feet upon the rock. He's giving you a firm place to stand. He says trust me, god is calling you. The Holy Spirit is in your innermost being. God is leading you to green pastures. He's hearing your war cry, every tear, every tear that has run down your face. God has bottled it up and it means so much to him. You mean so much to God. You look around your culture, your life you feel insignificant. You feel that no one's listening, no one cares. That may be true, but God loves you. God has a plan for you. He's saying be bold, be strong, hold on to the word of God. Never give up in your prayer life. Never give up. Jesus loves you.

Speaker 2:

We welcome you this morning to RB, christian Radio, as we hand over to our brothers this morning, as we welcome them into the studio and onto the mics, and we welcome everybody across the world. We thank you for your support. We thank you for your prayer. We thank you that we are part of the kingdom of God. You know we do not belong to religion of God. You know we do not belong to religion. Tell yourself that I am not a religious person. I am a John 3 3. I am born again. I am spirit filled. I am saved. I am created by God. I was brought in by God. God is with me. I am born again and God has given you the gift of salvation. Glenn and Andy, good morning, my friends, good morning.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, psalm 40, what a lovely Psalm of David. Corey went through it, didn't he? You know, you read, just read Samuel, just, yeah, read the life of David, you'll be well. A man who got it so right, a man who got it so wrong. A man, see, we're all weak, weak people, but mighty God. Later on in Psalm 40, david's heart is poured out in verse 11. Lord, don't hold back your tender mercies from me. Let your unfailing love and faithfulness always protect me, for trouble surrounds me too many to count. I think we end up there sometimes. But he also says my sins pile up so high I can't see a way out. Is that where you are today? Are you thinking how can I ever be what I once was? How can I have it restored? Look at the mess I've got myself into. Come on Jesus. Actually, later on, in Psalm 41, david says why am I so discouraged? Why is my heart so sad?

Speaker 2:

Come on, Jesus.

Speaker 3:

I will put my hope in God. I will praise him again, my saviour and my God, amen. We've got one who saves.

Speaker 2:

Hallelujah.

Speaker 3:

Not just a one-off. I saved you. Now get on with it. I'll see you in heaven. No, no, no, no. He says I'll be with you, always, always.

Speaker 2:

Yes, lord Always, never leave us.

Speaker 3:

Even to the very end of the age. And David gets it after he's messed up with Bathsheba big time. He's committed murder. He's in Psalm 51, verse 7. David says purify me from my sins and I will be clean. Wash me and I will be whiter than the snow. Oh, give me back my joy again. You've broken me. Now let me rejoice. Thank you, holy Spirit't. Keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt. And he has, through the sacrifice of his son, create in me a clean heart. Oh god, renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence yes, lord, and don't take your holy Spirit from me.

Speaker 3:

Now, there it is.

Speaker 2:

Come on, Jesus.

Speaker 3:

There it is. Here's the promise. Jesus said I've not left you as orphans We'll look at that in a minute but he said I will be with you. He is the one who restores and cleanses. He's the one who inspired this word the Holy Spirit. You go to the beginning of the bible, genesis 1, verse 2. There he is the spirit of the lord hovering over the waters. In exodus 33. Actually, this covenant, this promise that god has given us, goes right back to abraham, where god spoke to abraham in genesis I think it's around genesis and said I am Come on Father.

Speaker 2:

I am Thank you, holy Spirit.

Speaker 3:

Jesus shocked the Pharisees by saying I am.

Speaker 2:

Amen.

Speaker 3:

I am your shield.

Speaker 2:

Yes, and your very great reward. What are you running?

Speaker 3:

after. What are we running after? Well, the Lord ran after us. We are his pearl of great price.

Speaker 2:

Yes, Father.

Speaker 3:

Shouldn't he be our pearl of great price? Yes, Father.

Speaker 2:

Shouldn't he be our pearl of great price Mm.

Speaker 3:

And yet we mess up so many times. So did David.

Speaker 2:

Pour out your spirit.

Speaker 3:

Lord. And yet we ended up in the muck and the mire in the pit. So many times, so did David, and time and time again, god lifts him up, puts his feet on a rock, restores him, amen. Puts his feet on a rock, restores him Amen. Now in John 13. No, john 14, actually John 14 from verse 15. Here's the promise Come on Jesus.

Speaker 3:

Pentecost is just around the corner and the promise came. But here's the promise. Before we go there, I'm going to actually go to Moses in Exodus 33. Exodus 33. God speaks to moses and says my presence will go with you. This is from verse 14, and I will give you rest, this rest we get when you look at moses's life from exodus 33, it's not one of him laying on a lilo by the beach eating bananas. It's actually a hard life, yeah, but he's at peace Come on Jesus.

Speaker 3:

This peace Jesus gives us is a calmness in the middle of the storms. Thank you for that. Lord Jesus said in this world you will have many troubles, but I am with you.

Speaker 2:

Yes, Lord, you're with us.

Speaker 3:

So God is with Moses and he promises him my presence. Will go with you, my presence.

Speaker 2:

We want more of your presence. The.

Speaker 3:

Spirit and I will give you rest. Moses answered if your presence doesn't go with me, don't send me anywhere.

Speaker 2:

I'm not going Jesus.

Speaker 3:

Why didn't the church say that?

Speaker 2:

Because the church really don't know Jesus.

Speaker 3:

What has happened? Come on you read through the book of acts. When you read this bible, that spirit inspired they were led by the holy spirit come on, we need to be I've heard churches say we don't want that holy spirit here yes we have?

Speaker 3:

don't they know who? He is obviously not right. Right back to John 14, and I'll start at verse 15. If you love me, obey my commands. There's a simple thing If you love me, obey my commands, don't try and change them. If you try and change them, you don't love him. Simple If you love me, obey my commands and I will ask the, the father, and he will give you another advocate or counselor depends what translation you've got who will never leave you. He is the holy spirit who leads you in all truth. Amen. The world cannot receive him. So these churches that can't must be of the world. The world cannot receive him because it isn't looking for him and doesn't recognize him. But you know him because he lives with you now and later will be in you. There was a promise no, I will not abandon you as orphans. I will come to you, come on jesus.

Speaker 2:

We need your lord who's coming's? Coming.

Speaker 3:

The King. But who did Jesus say is sending and who is coming? He said the Holy Spirit. Now he's saying I will come to you. I will come to you. Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me, since I live. You also will live when I'm raised to life again. You will know that I am in the Father and you are in me and I am in you.

Speaker 3:

Those who accept my commands and obey them are the ones who love me. Who are the ones who love him? Those who accept my commands and obey them are the ones who love me. The ones who are trying to change his commands do not love him. It's clear. Those who are trying to change his commands do not love him. It's clear. And because they love me, my Father will love them and I will love them and reveal myself to each of them. Judas not Judas Iscariot, but the other disciple with that name said to him Lord, are you going to reveal yourself only to us and not to the world at large? Jesus replied all who love me will do what I say. Yes, lord, my Father will love them and we will come.

Speaker 3:

Jesus replied all who love me will do what I say yes, lord, my father will love them and we will come and make a home with each of them. What's coming?

Speaker 2:

Pour out your spirit.

Speaker 3:

Who's?

Speaker 2:

coming Pour out your spirit.

Speaker 3:

Lord, already we've heard the Advocate the Holy Spirit's coming. Now we hear that Jesus is coming to make his home in us. Now we hear that the Father is coming to make his home in us. Thank you, Father. Who is the Holy Spirit? He is God, god, the Father, god, the Son, god, the Holy Spirit. Anyone who doesn't love me will not obey me. And remember my words are not my own. What I am telling you is from the Father who sent me. I'm telling you these things now, while I'm with you, but when the Father sends the advocate as my representative, that is, the Holy Spirit.

Speaker 3:

He will teach you everything and remind you of everything teach us, I have told you amen, I'm leaving you a gift. Thank you, jesus. I'm leaving you a gift the presence increase lord, peace of mind and heart increase fire and the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give.

Speaker 3:

So don't be troubled. Actually, later on, in chapter 16, in verse 6, jesus says instead you grieve because I told you that I'm going away. The fact is, it's best that I go away, because if I don't go, the advocate won't come. But if I do go away, I will send him to you. Who's sending him? The Father and the Son Are sending who? If I don't go, the advocate won't come, but if I do go away, I will send him to you. Who's sending him? The Father and the Son Are sending who? Their spirit, their presence, your glory, god, come on. It says in Romans 8,. Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. He leads us in all truth. He inspired the Word and he reveals the Word. Amen. Jesus said. No one comes to me unless the Father draws him.

Speaker 2:

Draw us God.

Speaker 3:

Jesus also said no one goes to the Father except through me. We need the Holy Spirit, we need to be reliant on the Holy Spirit, we need to be led with the Holy Spirit. We need to be filled with the Holy Spirit, we need to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. We need to ask to have gifts of the Holy Spirit and bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 3:

Father, then.

Speaker 2:

Lead us.

Speaker 3:

We know his promises.

Speaker 2:

Lead us Jesus.

Speaker 3:

Then we cry Abba, father, then we have that intimacy that, though the world around us may be collapsing, Thank you, Jesus. We're seated with him in heavenly realms at total peace.

Speaker 2:

Amen.

Speaker 3:

So, lord, I want to thank you that you have not left us as orphans. You promised. And on that day of Pentecost, peter gives that message and quotes Joel this promise, what promise? Pour it out, god? The promise of your Holy Spirit? Pour it out, god Will promise of your Holy Spirit. Pour it out. God Will be on you, your children, those who are far off, everyone whom the Lord, our God, will call Amen. Will be the people of the presence.

Speaker 2:

Yes, Lord.

Speaker 3:

What makes us different from any other people on the face of the earth? We're the people of the presence.

Speaker 2:

The King.

Speaker 3:

Holy Spirit, I want to thank you that you're with us. Yes, Lord I want to thank you that you're for us. I want to thank you that now you do not hold our sin against us.

Speaker 2:

Amen.

Speaker 3:

Because Jesus paid for it all on the cross.

Speaker 2:

Freedom at the cross.

Speaker 3:

What a horrible death he paid for our salvation. And it's done, it is finished. We are saved, purified and we're now being sanctified, transformed from one degree of glory to another, as we sow to the spirit and not to the flesh.

Speaker 2:

Yes, Father, come on.

Speaker 3:

We cooperate with you, Lord, and we thank you for this silent revival that's going on. It's quiet at the moment, but it's gathering so many hundreds coming into your kingdom.

Speaker 2:

Yes, Father.

Speaker 3:

And that's just locally Pour it out, nationally Pour it out Tens of thousands coming into your kingdom.

Speaker 2:

Pour your spirit out.

Speaker 3:

Globally Millions.

Speaker 2:

Pour your spirit out.

Speaker 3:

Lord, you are an unstoppable force.

Speaker 2:

Hallelujah.

Speaker 3:

And Jesus, you said I will build my church. And hell is going to quake and shake before her and cannot stand.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 3:

Lord, you're doing it just like you promised and you said you are with us always, to the very end of the age. And you've already told us how. Through your Holy Spirit, empower your church. Rise her up, lord. Wash away, blow away by your Holy Spirit the chaff, the religion that surrounds your church. Rise her up, lord. Wash away, blow away by your Holy Spirit the chaff, the religion that surrounds your church, the flesh, the human ego. Blow it away, lord, and let your name be glorified.

Speaker 2:

Amen, amen, dick, I'm having Father, lord, before Andy steps in here, father, I just pray, lord, that the gifts of the Spirit will be so, so evident in our lives, that the gifts of the Spirit will be so, so evident in our lives. Lord, the fruit of the Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit. But, lord, also, we believe in miracles. We believe the dead are being raised. We believe the dead are being raised. We believe, lord, the lame are walking. We believe that we are watching the lame rise up. We believe that we are watching, lord, legs be restored, lungs be restored, hearts being restored. We believe the skeletal Lord is being strengthened. We believe, like the valley of dry bones, we believe there is structure. We believe there is a rise. We believe there is a move. We believe that the glory is moving. We believe that we are going to see the dead raised.

Speaker 2:

We believe in miracles. We believe that the Holy Spirit is moving across the UK, across every nation. Every tribe, every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Lord, for those that are in a hospice this morning, we thank you that they're well. In the name of Jesus. For those that are at home that are not well, they're well in the name of Jesus. We believe, those that are in hospital right now, lord, that there are miracles happening in hospitals. We believe miracles are happening on the other side, father, of this power, of this digitalisation of this world in which we live. We believe, for those that are listening right now, that are driving, that might be crying, that might be fearful, the joy of the Lord is their strength. We believe, right now, the dead is being raised, the blind are seeing, the lame are walking.

Speaker 2:

We believe that the power of the Holy Spirit holy, holy is the Lord most worthy of all praise the Spirit of the Lord is on you. The Spirit of the living God is on you this morning, as you drive that car, you drive that van, you drive that lorry, that truck, that bus, that whatever. As you fly across the air this evening this morning, as you are commuting across the world, as you are on a train, as you are on a school run, as you are looking on your phone. Right now, god is with you Wherever you are. You might be in the furthest place from this studio, but the Holy Spirit is with you. You might be close to this studio, but the Spirit of God is with you.

Speaker 2:

The Spirit of the living. God is with you. You don't need church, you don't need religion, you don't need the ministry, you don't need any religious area of anything. You have God, and God is with you. He's bringing you to a place that you've never been before. He's leading you to a place that you never thought possible. He's clearing the walkway, he's clearing the valley. Keep walking, whatever your name is, whoever you are, keep walking, whatever it looks like.

Speaker 2:

Don't look at Goliath. Don't look at Goliath and be fearful of Goliath. Don't look at Jericho and be scared about the size and the height of the walls. Don't listen to the sound of Pharaoh's chariots coming across the desert of life and be worried about the rumbling of the chariots and the horses on the earth. God is about to part the red sea. Hold your hands up wherever you are. Give god a praise this morning. The glory and the power of the Holy Spirit is anointing, is over you. The living word is in your spirit.

Speaker 2:

If you are unwell, right now, lay hands on yourself and believe your miracle. If you are sick, right now, lay hands on yourself and say Lord, I'm rising in the name of Jesus. This sickness bows to the name of Jesus. This sickness bows to the name of Jesus. This fear bows to the name of Jesus. Fear, go at the name of Jesus. Doubt go at the name of Jesus. Financial pressure remove yourself.

Speaker 2:

In the name of Jesus, remind yourself what the psalmist says the devil is under your feet. He's given you strength and authority to tramp upon the lion and the cobra. He's under your feet. You are ahead, uh and, and not beneath you. You are blessed and highly favored. You are blessed beyond human understanding, even in the valley of dryness. The glory of god is over you. The power of the living god is in your spirit. Rise up, up. Rise up this morning on wings as of eagles. Rise up this morning and stand on the rock of all ages. Rise up in the word this morning. Tell the sickness to go. Tell the fear to go. Tell the doubt to go. Tell the lack of to go. Tell your life. Remove yourself in the name of Jesusesus. I'm coming up, I'm rising out of the grave, I am living. God is breathing in my lungs this morning. I am anointed, I am blessed and highly favored. I am fearfully and wonderfully made and I'm going to rise on wings as of eagles. The power of god is in you.

Speaker 2:

It doesn't matter how you feel, with your emotions, it doesn't matter what the bank account looks like, it doesn't matter what the consultant says, it doesn't matter what is coming at you. Remember it wasn't Jesus' friends that took him to the cross. The enemies are the carriers to your destination. The situations carry us. The bleak of the situation, it carries us to the cross. Jesus' friends didn't take him to the cross. Jesus' disciples didn't take him to the cross. It was the situation, it was life, it was the bleaker things that took him to the cross, lord. It might be bleak for our natural vision, but, lord, we see with eyes of faith this morning. Stir us in the name of Jesus, amen.

Speaker 4:

Andy, god bless you. Yeah, how do I follow all that?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I just want to um go into romans and I think we've spoken about the holy spirit.

Speaker 4:

Um, yes, this morning, and that's really was such an amazing step in my own faith.

Speaker 2:

Yes, fire.

Speaker 4:

When I discovered real, the fullness of what the Holy Spirit is. No one can say Jesus is Lord without the Holy Spirit. That's right. But what there's more, there is more, there is more, because I was a Christian for quite a few years and, you know, a Bible-based Christian. But then I discovered that there was a fullness of the Holy Spirit, so were the disciples before Pentecost yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 4:

And then, on this occasion, I got prayed for and filled with the Holy Spirit. It was so powerful that I had to lie down. I couldn't get up. This was the Holy Spirit working in my life and it was after that that I discovered that God had given me certain gifts and you can then, you know, work for the kingdom. That's the powerful thing, that when you can work for the kingdom, that God is blessing you as you do. That.

Speaker 2:

Thank you for that.

Speaker 4:

And I just thank God that my sins have been erased and blotted out. Yes, come on In Romans 4 it says it's a quote from Psalm 32,. Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him. How amazing is that? It's gone. It's erased, you know. Another interpretation of that is it's erased from the record.

Speaker 2:

It can't be revisited.

Speaker 4:

If's erased from the record.

Speaker 3:

It can't be revisited If you've got a record I've got in my Bible. Apart from that me, I don't know how I'm pointing that I'm blessed it never counts against me.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, it's erased.

Speaker 2:

I think, andy, it's really important that we really listen to what you're saying here, because it is erased. Yeah, it's gone it's gone.

Speaker 3:

It's gone and never counted against you never, blessed is the man or woman whose sins and transgressions will never count against you thank you jesus paid for them in full past, present and future yeah, absolutely it's.

Speaker 4:

It's absolutely astonishing that um all that stuff that's got. You know some of us are worse than others, but you know it's all erased.

Speaker 3:

It's not about you, Ben.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

It's gone. But even when we trip up and fall, we just have to say you know, father, forgive me. Just like David, just like David. Just like David I mean David was probably the most well-known king in the Old Testament.

Speaker 2:

Completely across the whole world.

Speaker 4:

He tripped up a few times, didn't he? Well?

Speaker 2:

quite a few.

Speaker 4:

More times than that. But he was blessed and we're blessed, and if you want blessing, just come before jesus and ask him to come into your life come holy spirit and we say come holy spirit. And I said I was in romans, but in romans chapter 8, you know, it talks about life through the spirit.

Speaker 2:

Yes, that's, right, andy.

Speaker 4:

That's the way we have to lead. Our walk with Jesus. Is life through the Spirit? Now, if you look at Romans, I counted that in the first seven chapters of Romans the Holy Spirit is mentioned five times, but when we get to chapter 8, chapter 8, 22 times in the chapter alone is the Holy Spirit mentioned. Now, if we look, at Romans as Everest chapter 8 is the peak it's the pinnacle.

Speaker 2:

It's the pinnacle's, the pinnacle. It's right at the top.

Speaker 4:

Come on and yes, lord you know, it says I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed to us. The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. It's down to verse 20. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us.

Speaker 2:

Yes, Father.

Speaker 4:

With groans that words cannot express.

Speaker 2:

Thank you, Jesus.

Speaker 4:

And it goes on in verse 28. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. God calls each one of us.

Speaker 2:

He's calling you.

Speaker 4:

He calls you and those of you who are listening today or who listen later to this broadcast right now god is calling you. He wants you to work in his kingdom. He wants you because he loves you. Uh, he died. He sent his son to die for you, to die for you I. I find this astonishing that someone would die for me, but it was god himself he did his son, that supreme sacrifice thank you, jesus what shall we say then in response to this if god is for us, who can be against us?

Speaker 4:

amen, something to hold on to, isn't't it that scripture? If God is for us and we know that he is, who can be against us? That gives us a certain amount of bravery, sometimes in difficult situations. But we know that God is for us and that's why we're sitting here today, because we know that God is for us, and we want that message to be with you now. We want that because for your sake, he said, we face death all day long. We are considered a sheep to be slaughtered, but no, in all these things we are more than conquerors, through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of god look at that that that is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

Speaker 2:

So powerful.

Speaker 4:

And Jesus is the only way I am the way. I mean one of the I am's in John. We talk about John. I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Speaker 2:

Jesus is the way.

Speaker 4:

Jesus is the only way. And if you've never encountered Jesus, today is the day of salvation. Amen, it's for you today.

Speaker 2:

Amen, wherever you are, wherever you are, whatever island you are on, whatever nation you are in, we are coming to the table in about two minutes time. We encourage you to break bread with us now. Let's remind ourselves what we're about to do. We're about to break bread. We're about to take it a cup. It is not a religious exercise. It is nothing to do with religion. This is from the book of exodus, chapter 12. This is about taking and spending time.

Speaker 2:

You don't need to be in church, wherever you are at this moment in time, if you're able to do this with us in about one and a half minutes now, grab yourself some bread, grab yourself a bit of grape juice. We're going to break bread together. Take out a cup. It is so powerful. You don't need to be in church. You don't need to be caught in any denomination. You can be at home, sitting on the edge of your bed. You can be in your van. You can be, you know, in the gym and just take time out. You can be in the staff room. You can be at school. You can be in a lecture hall. You can be in the middle of a field. You can be in an aircraft 33,000 feet in the heavens and break bread and take it a cup, because it's a heart condition. It's a heart condition, nothing to do with the powers of religion.

Speaker 2:

So, lord, as our brothers are going to lead us to the table in just a few moments, I ask you, lord, that we will see the dead be raised, the blind will see the lame are walking, those that are crushed will rise on wings as of eagles and what's been said this morning across the airways. Holy Spirit, we know you're with us but, lord, open our mind, open our hearts to fill your presence so strongly for those that feel crushed today. Thank you that there is liberty. Open our mind, open our hearts to feel your presence so strongly For those that feel crushed today. Thank you that there is liberty. Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. The spirit of the Lord is with you. We're coming to the table right now. We have 16 minutes left of this service. Once this 16 minutes is over and up, the camera will click out, the radio will turn straight back into worship. So we welcome you now to come to the table. It is critical across the world. Welcome to coffee and prayer this morning. Brothers, will you lead us?

Speaker 3:

So it's wherever you are. Ben's already said that this new covenant we've got. You see, there used to be a temple curtain that separated the presence of God from the people when Jesus went to the cross. Yeah, it was torn into from top to bottom. So now the presence is in his people. We don't go to the temple. Now the temple's come to us. It's such a different covenant. It's the new covenant paid for by the body of jesus, the life of jesus. So on the night he was with his friends, his disciples, and he actually said I have so earnestly, eagerly desired to take this meal with you yes, lord and he took them right through.

Speaker 3:

They was at the Passover meal, they were going through the stages of it, the cedar meal, and when he came to the bread of redemption, he took the bread and said this bread is my body, which is broken for you. Salvation comes through him and him alone. How? Because he, as he showed them, is the only pure, spotless, sinless, sacrificial lamb that has met all the requirements God put on humanity. God now looks on him and pardons us.

Speaker 2:

Thank you, Jesus.

Speaker 3:

He looks on him and knows that he did everything. So when Jesus cried out as he gave up his spirit, it is finished. He didn't say I am finished. He said it is finished. It was a cry of victory. The sacrifice we needed was paid through him and as we take this bread. It's actually an act of faith that we know we're saved through his body through his life. Through his resurrection he's called a saviour. He has saved us. Thank you, jesus. I take this bread in faith of that Amen.

Speaker 4:

Amen, thank you, jesus. Thank, take this bread in faith of that amen.

Speaker 2:

Thank you Jesus, thank you Holy Spirit. He did what we couldn't do amen. Grab yourself a cup and he's going to lead us, you know. Grab yourself a cup that represents the blood of Jesus, wherever you are. We invite you, we invite you right now, to stop what you're doing and pause. God bless you, andy.

Speaker 4:

In the same way. After supper, he took the cup. This is the new covenant, that new agreement in my blood. And we come before you, lord, in my blood, and we come before you, lord, we know that you shed your blood, that blood of life, that blood that gives life, that you shed it so that we could have life, life in all its fullness. And we thank you, father, god, that you went to the cross. Jesus, you went to the cross, obedient to your Father's will, that, once and for all, sacrifice so that we could have life, so that we could have life. And, father, we just want to be your followers, we want to be obedient. Help us to follow you in so many ways. Help us to be able to be your powerful witnesses. Forgive us when we let you down.

Speaker 4:

And we thank you that this blood washes away all our sins.

Speaker 1:

We thank you that we can come before you.

Speaker 4:

And this is just that remembrance as we drink the cup, remembrance of what you've done for us. We can never give enough thanks for that. In our weakness, Father, give us strength. We ask that in this powerful name, amen, amen. We ask that in his powerful name, amen, amen.

Speaker 2:

Washed in the blood. So, so, so important that we are washed in the blood of Jesus Christ. Wherever you are across this world on podcast, on radio, on live stream camera right now the Holy Spirit is with you. We have mentioned the Holy Spirit more times than we've ever done, I believe, on these services, the Holy Spirit is moving across the world. It isn't the first time. He is always moving, god is always moving, jesus is always moving, the Spirit of God is always moving. The deity, the glory, the power is with you, father. If we are in the valley of the shadow of death, we come to you now.

Speaker 2:

Lord and Father, we thank you that we are walking forward and you are preparing the table for us in the presence of our enemies. And as you prepare that table, as you gather everything together, father, as you give us rest, as the scripture said, as Glenn brought Lord, as Andy has spoken and prayed about the Holy Spirit, lord, as we've brought the word, the scriptures, lord, we thank you that you bring the word to life, because the word of God is so supernatural, it is so powerful, it is beyond reasoning, it is beyond physics, it is beyond mindset, it is beyond the test tube of life, lord, will you give us more revelational knowledge through the word? We open our hearts up so that we will receive more of the living word of god. Father, we thank you that it isn't church that's got us saved. We thank you that isn't pastors and bishops, and we thank you that it isn't church that's got us saved. We thank you that it isn't pastors and bishops and leaders. We thank you that it isn't religion, it isn't our family, it isn't the amount of money, it isn't the lack of that's got us saved.

Speaker 2:

It is God, it is the power of God, and we thank you that God has dropped the gift. God has called us, god has called us. God has called you. God has called you this morning and God is still calling you. The Holy Spirit is with you. We have nine minutes, my brothers. We have nine minutes. We're time conscious.

Speaker 3:

I'm thinking of this cup and the cedar mill. Now there was another cup after Jesus drank this, another cup of wine and he said I'm not going to drink that cup until I come again. Exactly, there's also a prophetic utterance when we take communion. One is to give thanks for his, to remember that he died for us, gave his life for us and we're in a covenant paid for by his blood. And the other one is he's coming back, but he said until he comes back, he has left his Holy Spirit.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 3:

I don't think he's finished with us on that.

Speaker 2:

No, he hasn't.

Speaker 3:

See, if you love me, you'll obey my commands.

Speaker 2:

Help me obey. All scripture is God-breathed. Do you believe that? Yes, Lord.

Speaker 3:

What about 1 Corinthians 14 then? Pursue love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts. We want it. God, if you love me, obey my commands. Here's a command that the holy spirit has left pursue love, and eagerly or earnestly, or it's his desire yeah gifts of the holy spirit and when you read and it says especially the gift of prophecy, why?

Speaker 3:

When you get to Corinthians 14, verse 4, you'll see at the end of that it says prophecy strengthens the entire church. Yeah, prophecy strengthens the entire church. Drop down to verse 8. If a bugler doesn't sound a clear call, how will the soldiers know they're being called for battle? How we need gifts of the Holy Spirit. Ben was saying earlier about people being raised from the dead. I have personally prayed for and seen a three-year-old girl who was brain dead, who was not on life support because the professional said to spare the mum the anguish of switching it off, miraculously, come back to life.

Speaker 2:

Miracles.

Speaker 3:

Just a couple of months ago, in February, a child that was born and crashed and was at least five minutes without oxygen before the paramedics arrived, then be rushed off to All Saints Hospital in Medway, be put in an induced coma, prayed for the grandparents and said he's going to be fine.

Speaker 2:

Yes, yes.

Speaker 3:

Now. The prognosis wasn't fine until they took him out of the coma and scanned him and said there's nothing wrong with him. I've seen that three times, Seen it personally. I've got countless other stories, and that's just me. There are many, many, many Right. 1 Corinthians 14 ends with be sure this is from the NLT that everything is done.

Speaker 2:

Be sure.

Speaker 3:

What's that? All these gifts? Actually, most translations say these things must be done. Yes, Lord For the strengthening of the church. They must be done. Everything should be done. Most people concentrate on in order yes yes, what must be done in order? All these come on. All these must be done for the strengthening in the church and in a fitting and orderly way. There should be such an excess of the spiritual gifts through us desiring them that we have to put them in order.

Speaker 2:

Yes, Father, come on.

Speaker 3:

Isn't it like a desert in most churches? Anyone got a word?

Speaker 2:

No, no no.

Speaker 3:

Father, we pray for revival. Yeah, revive your slumbering church through your presence.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 3:

Lord, shock us with your presence. Amen, lord. I've been in a church that was in revival. Hundreds every night came to salvation, ran to the mercy seat begging to be saved. Every night it was wonderful and scary and awesome. Lord, your presence. It's a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Yes, lord, but the best place to be. Amen, revive your church. Amen, terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living god, yes, but the best place to be. Amen, revive your church amen, amen, andy.

Speaker 4:

We've got two minutes, my friend, and we're clicking yeah, I'm just um thinking in terms of what we should be doing, as certainly as leaders in churches, how we should approach this coming revival that we're in already. This is bubbling up at the moment.

Speaker 3:

Sound the bugle.

Speaker 4:

And we've got to sound the bugle to rally the troops. As such, and certainly when I lead, I always ask the Holy Spirit to come.

Speaker 4:

Yes, father, when I lead, I always ask the Holy Spirit to come. Yes, father, before I start and do anything, holy Spirit come. And that's what I think we should be doing as church leaders, as leaders in in our churches. We should ask the Holy Spirit to come and even wait on the Holy Spirit to wait, certainly in silence, and even wait on the Holy Spirit to wait, certainly in silence. Quite often we can do that and we can see what the Holy Spirit is doing. He's amazing. He's going to be changing people's lives and we as church have to be ready for this influx of people who are going to come.

Speaker 2:

Yes, Lord.

Speaker 4:

And we need to be ready for that.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 4:

So, father God, I just thank you. Thank you for the Holy Spirit, thank you that you touch my life, you touch the lives of those around us and we just pray, father God, that there will be such a powerful revival in our land. That's what we want. We want revival here in our churches.

Speaker 2:

Start in our churches. Lord, Pour out your spirit.

Speaker 4:

So that your spirit will be poured out. Your spirit will be poured out in our local authorities. Please Lord your spirit will pour out in our local authorities, in our government, that we want your spirit to come in our schools. Lord, Bring back the assemblies where assemblies have been just taken away. We want Christian faith raised up again in our schools.

Speaker 4:

Stir it up, lord, lord, so that we can know who you are, that jesus is the way, he is the only way, and father there. Yes, this is the book, this is the only book. Uh, this is. It holds the contents of truth of who you are. It's dangerous, as you say, it's a dangerous book. It's a dangerous book because it will change your life if you read it, if you sit down and read it and ask God to speak to you. When you do it, it's changing lives, and I can give countless testimonies of people who've sat down and read it.

Speaker 3:

And, uh, jesus has intervened so many countries. Yeah, get it for free.

Speaker 4:

Yeah yeah, you can have this copy free. If you just get in touch with us, we'll send you a copy. Um, and this is the most powerful book. This is the only book that you need.
