When the Boat Can’t Hold You Anymore

Have you ever felt trapped in a boat being tossed by life’s storms, clinging to what’s familiar—even as it’s falling apart around you?

In this soul-stirring episode, we dive into Matthew 14, where Peter walks on water during a violent storm. This isn’t just a story of courage—it's a divine confrontation with comfort, control, and the limitations we place on ourselves. Like Peter, we are often called by Jesus to step out of our boat precisely when the storm is at its worst.

Why does God call us out in the chaos? Because that’s where miracles meet maturity.

Many of us are navigating life in vessels that are no longer fit for purpose—relationships that drain us, jobs that limit us, mindsets that enslave us. We’re trying to patch up sinking situations, when Jesus is saying, “Come.” The past storms—traumas, failures, and fears—may no longer be present physically, but they continue to rage in our memories, influencing our faith and fogging our vision.

Peter’s story reminds us that it’s not about perfect walking—it’s about imperfect faith with your eyes on Jesus. He sank when he focused on the wind and waves, and so do we. But the beauty lies in what happened next:

“Immediately, Jesus reached out His hand and caught him.”

That same hand is reaching for you.

Are you holding onto something Jesus is calling you to let go of? A church culture that’s outgrown its spiritual fire? A career that once served you but now stifles your calling? A belief system formed more by fear than by faith?

This episode challenges you to consider:
Is your boat holding you, or is it holding you back?

The cross of Calvary is where yesterday’s storms must stay. You were not made to live in fear-based survival. You were created to walk in Spirit-empowered freedom. It’s time to jump—not recklessly, but obediently—and discover what it means to walk on water with Christ.

🎧 Tune in now to rediscover courage, confront fear, and experience the invitation of Jesus to live beyond the boat.

Speaker 2:

Let's just jump straight into the Gospel of Matthew chapter. We're going to go to Matthew 14, and the title for those that want to take some notes this evening or wherever you are, whatever your time zone is is a simple title, and it's Take a Leap of Faith. I really believe God is calling us to take a leap of faith. Many of us, every one of us, just to take that leap of faith. This is a great text. This is a beautiful text. We're not looking at the crucifixion or anything that we've done so many days and a lot of stuff on that. I feel that the Lord is leading us, just not away from the cross. He's never leading us away from the cross, not by any way. Which way? But what I'm referring to is just bringing us to take a leap of faith now, and I believe God is calling you to new pastures and new beginnings. But let's get straight in. Let's see what the word says. So we're in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 14, verse 22. And it's when we find this great story about walking on the water. You know, all things are possible to those who believe. The power of belief is beyond human understanding. The power of faith, the power of believing, the power of taking that leap outside of that vessel, wherever you are. Let's get straight in. Let's just read this text all the way through. And we're pretty familiar with this. We've done many sermons over this, we've done many podcasts and done some dissecting of the text many times before. But we're in verse 22 of Matthew, chapter 14. And thank you for joining us on the other side of the world this evening. So many switching in on Resurrection Sunday. May God bless you right now.

Speaker 2:

And it says in verse 22, immediately, jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side While he dismissed the crowd. After he had dismissed them, he went up to the mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, uh, he was there alone. But the boat was already a considerable distance from the land, buffeted by the waves because of the wind was against it. During the fourth watch of the night, jesus went out to them walking on the lake and when the disciples saw he walked on water and he came towards them. And Jesus said to him keep going. Verse 30,. But when he saw the wind and the waves, he was afraid and he began to sink and he cried out Lord, save me. Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and he called him, you of little faith. He said why do you doubt? And then it says in verse 32, let's go a little bit further. And it says and they climbed into the boat and the wind died down. Those who were in the boat worshipped him, saying truly, this is the son of God.

Speaker 2:

This is a really interesting text. It applies to every one of us. It applies to each and every one of us, and we want to encourage you, wherever you are on the other side of the world, as you join us on radio, as you join us in the world of podcasts, you know, to take that step of faith. Wherever you are at this moment in time, we want to encourage you to to step out, to take that leap. You know, maybe it's a new change, maybe it's a new beginning, maybe there's something in your life that has been holding you back so long. And when you look at this analogy and this structure of this scripture that we're in, we understand that Peter and the other disciples they was in a vessel and our lives we sail in many, many vessels. We cross over, we crisscross from vessel to vessel, you know, but sometimes the weather and the wind and the situation and the elements of life are beating against that vessel and so often we need to leave that vessel, that situation. We need to see change, but to see change we have to take a leap of faith.

Speaker 2:

Now, that vessel that Peter was sailing in, it's really interesting because Jesus pushed them out. Jesus already pushed them out and the Bible says that the boat was already a considerable distance from land. It was out. And that's how you might be at this moment in time. Maybe you feel that you're a considerable distance and you're already set out and there's no way back and the storm of life is really pushing the boat that you are sailing in. What does the boat represent? It might mean school. It might boat represent. It might mean school. It might mean university. It might mean relationships, it might mean culture. It might be a historical vessel that you're sailing in, but you're frightened to leave the vessel and when you leave the vessel, I'm afraid to say there are certain people on that vessel that you need to leave behind for a while because we've got to focus on Jesus.

Speaker 2:

It is really, really important that this time, in where we sit this, especially within the UK, that we've got to leave certain areas, certain circles, certain positions of life and we got to take a leap of faith. We got to step out in faith, just like Peter. We've got to leave history behind and we've got to walk to Jesus. But to leave history, for some unknown reason, every one of us seems to hang around the historical stuff. We don't want to leave the vessel, we want to stay where we are. But I actually believe Jesus, as Jesus was calling Peter. I believe God, through Christ, is calling me, calling Alex, calling everyone in the house tonight, everybody online tonight, everybody on radio. I believe God is calling every one of us to walk towards Jesus.

Speaker 2:

If you have a Bible, I believe, if you turn to Hebrews, chapter 12, and you read what it says at the very beginning of the text, it says Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author, the perfecter, of your faith. We are living in a time when the wind and the rain is against us. If we are Christians, the vessel that we sail in, the area of life that we are walking in, you know we are very turbulent at the moment in this nation. This nation is very turbulent. There's a lot of devastation, there's a lot of area of physical change and so often we don't like physical change. Sometimes it can worry us, it can bring fear, it can bring doubt and all that sort of stuff, but change is healthy. Sometimes we need to make that leap of faith to leave that vessel. And Peter he had to get his eyes on Jesus because the scripture is really, really clear. We're very familiar with this text, very familiar. And he says Lord, if it's you, if it's you, call me.

Speaker 2:

And as you look at this beautiful bit of writings, as you look at this, it says during the fourth watch of the night, jesus went out to them walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. It is a ghost. You know. Fear changes your focus. Fear can change your vision. Fear can change lots of impressions of christ that we have, because when fear comes, it can distort us. We got to be focused on the savior and not on the storm. We got to be focused on jesus. Every one of you, us, every one of we, have storms erupting in our lives. That's what's called being a human being and what we got to do is, when the storm is raging, when the waves are hitting the boat. What we got to do is that we got to focus on Jesus. We got to keep our eyes on Jesus, the author and the perfecter of our faith, and we cannot allow the storm to distort our vision.

Speaker 2:

What happened to Peter? He wasn't sure if that was Jesus. Is that a ghost? See what happens when the darkness comes in and our eyes are not clear. This is so good of what the Bible talks about the just shall live by faith, because we have to live by faith, we can't live by sight. And this is a classic story in the scripture where this disciple, peter, lived and this moment he was relying on his retina, he was relying on his eyes, he was relying on on his impression as jesus christ, but because he saw jesus walking on the water, it changed his perception of jesus. Why would it change his perception? But to see someone walking on water, but also having the boat that you are sailing in being knocked around by by the storm of life and everything was coming against the vessel, and then, all of a sudden, you see this figure you. So I can get a bit of an understanding when it says very clearly in the scripture is that Jesus or is that a ghost, because fear and the weather conditions of life will change our vision of what is before us. And I want to encourage you tonight if you are going through a storm, if there are things breaking out in your life, do not allow the storm and the darkness of the season around you to distort your vision of Jesus. Keep your eyes on Jesus.

Speaker 2:

The Bible is extremely clear in the book of Hebrews, chapter 12. It says keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and the perfecter of your faith. You know what? The King of kings and the Lord of lords. He is with you. He is worthy of all praise. He is the great I am, but there is a storm that is raging. There is worthy of all praise, he is the great I am, but there is a storm that is raging, there is a storm that is breaking out, there are things happening and you know what?

Speaker 2:

So often we carry on the historical storm. Now, this is a very interesting trait that we have as human beings, as the human race. We allow the storms of history to be determined to where we're sailing at this moment in time. So let's take a moment and just let's just analyze this at a moment Our history, our storms in our history, our back library of stuff, our back library of being a human being that can steer us, that can lead us and that can still challenge us today.

Speaker 2:

What we need to do, the storms of yesterday, the storms of everything. We have to leave it behind. We cannot allow the storms that brought turmoil, that brought unsettled feelings in our heart. We cannot allow the storms of yesterday to dictate to where we are going in our future. We are going in our future. We need to come. I'm talking when I say we, I put myself first and in the forefront of the firing line of this. We need to get to the cross of Calvary, we need to get to Jesus, we need to hand everything over to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, because I cannot allow the storms of yesterday, because the storms of yesterday still dictate to me as a human being. So the storm is raging. Where is the storm raging?

Speaker 2:

When I look at life, the sun is out, but in my heart and my mind the war is still going on within me. But the season is different on the outside and what is in front of me? But the season of unforgiveness, the season of bitterness, the storm of fear, the storm of damaged relationships, the storm of uncertainty, the storm of all the things that went on. And I carry that storm and I bring that up to my present right now. But I can't live in the fullness of God when I allow the storm of yesterday to dictate to the way that I am sailing in my life. I need to forgive, I need to lay things down, I need to bring things to Jesus, because every one of us has been through storms. But if I allow that storm and that ferocious storm to come my way, I've got to be so careful that I cannot. I cannot, I cannot allow the storm of yesterday to dictate to the season that I'm in at this moment.

Speaker 2:

You know our life is seasonal, you know everything is seasonal and I pray for every one of you right now, in the name of Jesus Christ, that we will not live in an old storm. We will not live in old bitterness, in unforgiveness. We won't live in old relationships. We won't live in old cultural ways. We won't live in old financial holdings. We won't live in what people said about us, because that can determine our walk now and that affects us. The sun is out in your life, everything's okay. The storm physically has gone. That hit before, but right now we are carrying the storm because we haven't left it and laid it at the cross of calvary. It is the most easiest thing to say. But let me tell you this I stand with every one of you because I know what it's like to leave storms that have damaged, that have hurt. I know what it's like trying to leave the historical events down. But if I don't lay the historical storms down, I will carry the damage forever and a day. Yes, jesus Christ is a healer. Yes, he is the King of Kings. Yes, he is the lord of lords. But I have my part to do as a bible, believing, believer. Lord, will you help me to forgive? So when you look at this, this is not just a storm.

Speaker 2:

That peter was jumping out of the boat and starting to walk by faith. He had to. He had to take his eyes off of the season and he took his eyes off of the season. And he took his eyes off of the season For a moment. He kept his eyes on Jesus. But what happened was what's really, really interesting here is when he looked at the season. When we go back to our season, when we look at the season, when we reflect at the season, when we look at the darkness of night, when we go through the valley of the shadow of death, when we look at everything that's breaking out around us, storms are always here, storms will always come and storms will always go. But I've got to change my mindset and my focus of how do I get through the storm. Peter took his eyes off Jesus.

Speaker 2:

This is such an easy biblical text to get, but it's bigger than what we can imagine, because God is telling me, god is telling Alex, god is telling you, whoever you are, wherever you are across the world, on radio, this morning, this evening, this afternoon, right now, for all those that are with me right now, in the name of Jesus Christ, god is telling every one of us do not be afraid in the middle of the storm. Do not allow the storm to dictate to the season that you are in right now. Now, peter, he jumped, he took that leap of faith, but he was still uncertain because he said if that's you call me, it's very interesting, isn't it? The voice, the voice is critical, the voice is critical. I've got to listen to the voice. The voice is critical, the voice is critical. I've got to listen to the voice. How do I hear the voice of God? I hear the voice of God when I read the word. Yes, I might hear my voice. I hear my voice, but it's the word of God.

Speaker 2:

I want to encourage you to be a Bible-believing believer, to be a reader. I want you to read the word. I want you to immerse yourself in the word. I want you to get in the scripture. I want you to allow the word. And I'm talking to myself tonight.

Speaker 2:

Sisters and brothers, wherever you are, we've got to take a leap of faith and we've got to leave many, many seasons behind. We've got to leave the seasons of adversity, the season of pain, the season of relationship, the season of culture. Many of us, it doesn't matter what color skin we are, it doesn't matter where we're birthed. Every one of us have been birthed into some form of cultural trait and what we allow and church also can be very dangerous in the culture. You know, pastors and leaders, we always say we've got to adopt this certain culture, we've got to network, we've got to do this, we've got to do that A, b, c and D and every church is doing something completely different to the other church.

Speaker 2:

What we've got to do is say, god, what are you calling me to do? What are you calling me to do in the name of Jesus? Where are you calling me, lord? What is the purpose within the church context of my life? Because, lord, there's a storm breaking out, lord, and the boat that I'm in, lord, is starting to wobble and, lord, I know that I've got to leave this boat, I've got to leave this place. You know, you could look at that vessel and it was a safe place. It was a safe place. But sometimes we've got to leave that safe place of old and we've got to start to walk to Jesus. When Jesus calls you, maybe Jesus is calling you to ministry, maybe Jesus is calling you to a different place across the world. Maybe Jesus is calling you to walk out of a cultural trap. Maybe God is calling you out of a church. Maybe God is calling you into a new area of life. Maybe God is doing an amazing work in your life and it feels odd. Sometimes, and very often, really, more than sometimes, change can be painful, you know, because we get so entrenched in the season, and I want to encourage you, whatever season you're in right now take that leap of faith. Keep your eyes on jesus.

Speaker 2:

Peter had to listen to the voice. He was still uncertain, but he said, right, right, I believe that's Jesus. And Jesus said, come. And as he jumped and he leapt out and he got down out of the boat, he started. We all know the rest of it, we all understand. He took that leap of faith and he started to walk. It broke physics, it broke the law of gravity, it broke science, it broke absolutely everything and he took a leap of faith. I want to encourage you, wherever you are right now, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, to step out in faith, to step out right now, in the name of Jesus, to take that leap and to say God, I'm going to walk on water tonight. Lord, I'm leaving the season of adversity. Lord, I'm not allowing this boat, this vessel I'm sailing in, to hold me in the storm. I've got to leave this situation, because this boat is just going to be buffeted by the waves. I cannot allow myself, lord, to be dictated and to be moved by this vessel. I've got to leave the vessel.

Speaker 2:

Sometimes we have to leave the vessel to get a safe space, but the safe space that God is calling us to doesn't look as safe as the vessel that we're sailing in, because the boat that they was in was a wooden structure. It was floating, it had a wooden floor. They were safe even though the wind was against it, even though it was being driven, even though it was being pushed around by the storm of life. They were still safe to a certain degree. But sometimes we stay in the vessel too long and as the vessel starts to get broken down, suddenly we start to see the impact of staying in a situation too long. Many of us have stayed in a vessel and in a situation too long. Many of us have stayed in a vessel and in a situation too long and we've been wanting the situation to change. But the vessel started to get broken down and the vessel that we were sailing in is not fit for purpose. Many of us are in situations that we are sailing in and the vessel that we started out in isn't fit for purpose and it is breaking down.

Speaker 2:

You've only got to look at that great, that great apostle. You know that great apostle, paul, when he was on the adriatic sea 14 days, 14 nights, that magnificent vessel that they were sailing in. The storm was so big and the storm was so powerful, they was throwing everything overboard. And as they was throwing everything overboard and they was trying to lighten their load. And that's what we do we try and lighten the load of life. We throw this out, we throw that out rather than leaving the vessel.

Speaker 2:

Sometimes we've got to leave the vessel of familiar territory because that vessel that Paul was sailing in, something really strong happened to that. What happened? It says that it hit a sandbar and it broke in two. It doesn't matter how strong, how big the culture is, what it is. Let me tell you this the storm will wear any structure down and many of us have stayed on a vessel too long. We should have got out and got over and moved on a long time ago, but we think that we're familiar with our surroundings.

Speaker 2:

I'm going to stay. I'm going to stay. I'm not going to move. I'm not going to move. I'm going to stay in the job. I'm going to stay in the church. I'm going to stay here. I'm going to stay there. I'm going to stay in a relationship. I'm not going to move. It's going to be all right, it's going to be right.

Speaker 2:

But then, all of a sudden, the storm is so powerful, the storm is so great, the storm was breaking down the surroundings and it is really really clear what happened to Paul that they were shipwrecked and they were. They had to swim for their life. Sometimes we stay in a situation too long without listening to what God has said Get out. Get out, it's time to move. And God told Peter in this situation step out the voice of God through Jesus Christ. Peter, jump, it is your time right now. It's really, really important that we don't stay like Paul and we stay on this vessel, and too long. And suddenly the storm is so great and so powerful. What happened was we understand that it hit a sandbar, it broke in two and then they had to swim for their life. Sisters and brothers, don't stay too long on a vessel that is about to crash. Don't stay on a vessel too long. It's really important that we understand that seasons change, situations switch in and switch out.

Speaker 2:

Now is the hour. We are coming to the table in just a few moments. Just a few moments, we're going to break bread together. In a moment, we're going to take a cup together, but sister and brother jump out of the boat of familiar territory. Don't let your history guide you in the storm that you're in. It is time to lay down, to lay down history. It is time, on Resurrection Sunday, to lay everything down and say Jesus, I'm not allowing that person, I'm not allowing the situation, I'm not allowing the culture, I'm not allowing the business, I'm not allowing the educational department, I'm not allowing my family, I'm not allowing anyone to control me in this situation. This is my storm and no one knows how to ride this through but me. So I am going to leave my historical stuff out on the lake and I'm going to walk back to the shore, in the name of Jesus. I am not going to go down. I am not going to be destroyed by the historical events. I am going to leave right now, in the name of Jesus.

Speaker 2:

We've got to be careful that we don't become like the Israelites that were under the hand of Pharaoh. Now, the first Israelites that went into slavery, the first generation that went into slavery under the hand of Pharaoh, kicked up a storm. They did not want to be slaves, they fought against it all the time. But suddenly, as the children came into their world, the next generation down. They fought it. But they see, if you go down 10 generations from the start of the slavery under the hand of Pharaoh. You go down 100 years, 50 years, 30 years, 40 years. The further you go down and the more children are born into the generation. The children see the hand of Pharaoh being the natural thing to be. Let me tell you this there are many of us that have been birthed into situations and we become like the Israelites the fear and the slavery and the beatings and the whippings and the lickings and the kickings become normal, and the beatings and the whippings and the lickings and the kickings become normal and we reside ourselves to say this is the rest of my life. So the slaves down from generation one right the way down to the end. It was normal for them to be under the hand of Pharaoh.

Speaker 2:

There are many people in culture, in marriages, in life, in relationships that have stayed too long. It is not your normal. Do not live in your history. It is time to bring it to the cross. There are too many people trying to control us from our historical events and trying to get us to move in our future events by the worry and the fear of what was happening back in that storm. You've got to leave that storm. That storm is physically finished, but it's still in my head. The storm is still with me in my mind. The storm is still with me in my thoughts. The storm is making me overthink. The storm is making me look at Jesus different, because that's what happened to Peter. Fear and the storm and the bleakness and the darkness can overshadow what we think about our perception of Jesus. Let me tell you this it's time to ditch fear.

Speaker 2:

Spirit of the living God, I want to ditch fear tonight. I want to ditch history tonight. I want to lay all that old stuff down at the cross of Calvary. And, lord, I want to walk away. I want to walk away strong and bold, from all the storms in my historical event. Lord, I want to leave all those that journeyed with me. I want to leave them on the vessel because, lord, there are certain people I cannot take from my history into my future. They want to stay on the boat, they want to stay there, but, lord, I've got to move. In the name of Jesus, I've got to step out. In the name of Jesus, I've got to find freedom. We're coming to the table right now. We're going to have the Lord's Prayer. We're going to be led in the Lord's Prayer right now, and then we're going to come back and we're going to go straight at the table. God bless you.

Speaker 3:

I invite you to say the Lord's Prayer with me, our Father, who art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, bread, and forgive us of our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Speaker 2:

Amen, lord, as we come to the table, spirit of the living God, we need to break out of this storm, god, we need to break out of this storm, god, we need to break out, Father, of this storm. So, lord, as I break bread together across the world, my brothers and sisters, lord, I need to get out of this storm. Lord, I need to get out of this storm, jesus in my head, because the storm is dictating to me the fear of what was could still be now. But, lord, I need freedom. Do you need freedom tonight, in the name of jesus, from historical storms? Physically they've stopped, but it's still in my mind and I'm still living by historical situations of what that person might do, what they might say, what the situation might become, what might happen. If I let's say this prayer Father, as we come to the table break my mind tonight from all the stinking thinking and give me freedom in my head and do not let me live my life according to what the world wants me to do. I want to live for Jesus. I want to live in the power of the word. I want to live in freedom tonight. I want to live in the glory spirit of the living God. I pray as we come to the table. Lord, set me free, set everybody else free on radio, Set everybody free on visuals, set everybody free in the world of podcast. Come, holy Spirit, lord, make a way where there is no way tonight. Lord, we love you and we are blessed and we are rich in Christ Jesus. Pour out your spirit on us tonight, lord, and make a way, lord, so that we are not living in history, we are living by faith. So, father, I thank you for this bread that symbolizes the body of Christ. Lord, as I break this bread now, father, I thank you right now that this symbolizes the body of Christ. Bless it in Jesus' name, amen. Father, I thank you for the blood of Jesus that was shed at the cross at Calvary and as we come to the cross tonight, as we come and stand as sisters and brothers, sinners saved by grace. Lord, we can't live anymore in history. We can't live in what people have said, might said, possibly going to say Lord, help us to take a leap of faith and to trust you. Lord, will you cleanse me from the crown of my head to the sole of my feet in the blood of Jesus? Amen.

Speaker 2:

There is power in the name of Jesus. He is the risen King. He is the Saviour of the world. He is the great I Am. And let's not be like Peter that when we jumped, when we jumped, we focused more on the storm than we do of jesus. Let's keep our eyes on jesus, the author, the perfecter, of our faith. Let's stretch out right now.

Speaker 2:

Lord, spirit of Spirit, of the living God, we pray for such an outpouring of your love. We pray for such an outpouring of your glory. We pray, lord, that you will carry us and you will lead us in paths of righteousness. Father, you are the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. You are worthy of all praise. You are the great I am. You are the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. You are worthy of all praise. You are the great I Am. You are the King of Kings. Right now, lord, father, set the captives free.

Speaker 2:

Lord, I pray tonight for everybody online that, as we take a leap of faith, as we stretch out right now, lord, as we jump out of the boat of that familiar territory, lord, help us to leave the boat. Help us to leave it. God, help us to walk away. God, spirit of the living God, pour out your glory over us tonight. Pour out your glory over us tonight, lord Jesus. You're worthy of all praise. You are the King and we rest in your presence. Father, make a way where there is no way. We love you, lord, in Jesus name. Alex is just going to share a prayer and then we're going to come to the close. We've got about 12 minutes left and we're out of here.

Speaker 4:

In the name of Jesus, you can't keep up with the clock, can you?

Speaker 2:

No, don't worry about that.

Speaker 4:

Right, here's a lovely prayer. Well, I found it today and I've been reading it and reading it and it's come to my heart deeply Amen. And here's the prayer. Dear Father, dear God, today we celebrate the greatest comeback in history. Amen, jesus, you were crucified, buried and looked like it was the end, but on the third day you rose. The stone was rolled over and with it, fear had to move. Sin lost its grip, death lost its sin. Today we celebrate that love won, hope rose and you are alive. Let's start some resistance power. Fill every heart. Listening right now, bring life where there's been pain, bring joy where there's been sorrow, bring peace in every house. Jesus, because of you we live right now. Because of how we are, we can face tomorrow, because you live and have proposed. Because you lived, we are never alone. So lift up our purses today on airwaves, in our heart and all over the world. Thank you for the cross, thank you for the empty tomb, Thank you for your Easter and everything you do In Jesus' name, amen.

Speaker 2:

Amen. Thank you, alex. Father, we thank you as Alex was praying there. Lord, as the world is listening, lord, as your light is shining across this world tonight, we thank you that Jesus Christ has risen. The King has risen, he's alive. Jesus Christ is alive and wherever you are across the world, in the close of this service, may the power of God strengthen you.

Speaker 2:

But just like Peter, Lord, I'm walking different. Lord. I'm going to walk different tonight. I'm going to walk forever different, lord, I'm going to walk in the word. I'm going to walk in your presence. I'm going to trust the living word of God. I'm going to trust you in every area of life and I'll come to you tonight. Lord, in the mighty name of Jesus and Father, I thank you for the power of your word, I thank you for your presence, I thank you for your mercy, I thank you for your love, because right now, in the name of Jesus, we believe in miracles. Lord, I'm going to walk on water tonight. Lord, I'm going to see cancer go. I'm going to see fear go. I'm going to see heart disease reverse. At the name of Jesus, I'm going to see the power of the Holy Spirit move in our hearts and our minds, our bodies, our souls. I believe the King is healing us. I believe in the power of the Word. I believe in the love of God, I believe in the power of the Scripture. Lord, tonight, wherever our brothers and sisters are across the world, whatever is going on in our lives, whatever is happening, lord, in our brothers and sisters are across the world, whatever is going on in our lives, whatever is happening, lord, in our circumstances, whatever is happening, lord, right now, lord, we pray for the fire of God and the love of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.

Speaker 2:

Lord, come, lord. We want to walk different tonight, lord. We don't want to walk by fear. We don't want to allow the storms to buffet us, lord. We don't want to allow the storms, lord, to dictate to us. We don't want to allow, by fear, we don't allow the storms to to buffet us, lord. We don't allow the storms, lord, to dictate to us. We don't allow the history to control us. We don't allow, lord, everything of the past to rule us.

Speaker 2:

Now, where we sit, lord, we want it to be finished and over, because the cross nailed everything. Lord, you nailed everything at the cross. So, lord, we come to you, lord, as brothers and sisters of hope. We come to you, lord, as brothers and sisters of hope. We come to you blood-washed, sanctified, blessed and highly favoured, wonderfully and fearfully made.

Speaker 2:

Lord, let the power of God sweep through each and every one of us. Lord, have mercy on us tonight, Lord. Have mercy on us tonight, lord, in the name of Jesus. Lord, we need your goodness, we need favour. We need your goodness, we need favour, we need your love, we need the power of the Holy Spirit. Lord, we need you to sweep through us, we need you. Father. God come, lord, in these moments, these few moments. Jesus, lord, these six minutes or so, lord, five minutes, four minutes, as the clock is ticking away.

Speaker 2:

Lord, father, will you lead us in paths of righteousness? Will you lead us, father, in the way of the truth? Will you lead us in the way of hope? Will you lead us in the way, lord? Will you move on us tonight, god, father, we need that power.

Speaker 2:

Lord, we've got to walk on water. Lord, we've got to jump out of this boat. We can't allow ourselves to stay in this situation. We've got to move out. We've got to move out. But, lord, it's dark, it's windy, the rain is coming down. Father, the waves are strong.

Speaker 2:

Lord, help me, give me the faith to stretch out to you tonight. Give me the faith to stretch out to you tonight. Give me the faith to stretch out to you, jesus. Give me the strength, lord, to stand on the rock of ages. Give me the strength tonight, lord, to say yes and amen. Give me, dear God, the strength and the authority, through the word of God, to leave history.

Speaker 2:

Shall we pray tonight as we come to the close of this online service, on this Resurrection Sunday. Shall we just pray and just take a moment as we just click out in about five minutes, as we click out and as the music will come on and you can stay on RB Christian Radio. Please stay on there, but we will click out very, very soon. But let's enter into a prayer together. Father, as we stand at the foot of the cross, father, make a way where there seems to be no way.

Speaker 2:

As we stand at the foot of the cross, at the crossroads of life, help us to make the right decision, to take that leap, to take that leap of faith, to take a leap, lord, and to jump, jump into the presence of Jesus. So, father, I pray that fear will go, that fear will dissolve tonight, that fear will melt away, that fear won't distort our vision of Jesus, that fear will not distort everything that we have of Christ, that fear will not distort our focus on the Word. That the bleakness, that the storms, that the blinkness, that the storms, that the waves, that every situation will not distort our vision of our destiny in Jesus. Father, I pray that our destiny, that we will walk towards that future, that point in faith, that we will not allow the historical storm to dictate to us. Now, maybe your historical storm was a storm that was so powerful.

Speaker 2:

It has given you mental health issues. It has made you become someone that you're not, that you're frightened about certain things, that life itself, that certain things that are going on at this moment. You can't move forward because of history, you can't make decisions because you're worried about what ifs, what ifs come back, what if this happens? What happens if, but, but, but. All the buts, all the ifs, all the whats. Father, we need to lay them down, all the buts, all the ifs and all the whats. And tonight, lord, I pray that we will live by faith. Holy Spirit, holy Spirit, we need to live by faith tonight, lord. Lord, will you pour out your glory over us. Tonight, lord, we need to live by faith. Come Holy Spirit, come Holy Spirit, lord.

Speaker 2:

We ask you for everyone tonight, online or on radio, on the world of podcast, lord, that you remove Lord fear tonight. That we take a leap, that we take a leap in the name of Jesus, that we do not allow the history, the historical storms, to cause anxiety in our present. That we do not allow the historical storms to cause anxiety to where we're going. So, lord, in these moments of closing this service, I pray for every one of us online in the house, I pray for everybody on radio that tonight will be a night when you remove, when you remove the fear. That was the fear that was.

Speaker 2:

Lord. Clean our mind, clean our thinking, lord, remove agitation. Lord, if anyone is agitated, that is restful. We pray that everyone will sleep well tonight, in the name of Jesus, that we will sleep well according to the scripture, that our sleep will be sweet. In the name of Jesus, spirit of the living God, will you sweep for our hearts tonight, lord and Lord, remove the yeast, remove the fear, remove the doubt, remove the uncertainty, remove all the uncertain thoughts we have. Lord, we cannot allow the storms of history to dictate to where we are right now. In Jesus' name, lord, send your fire, send your fire. Lord, send your glory right now. Lord, name, lord, send your fire, send your fire. Lord, send your glory right now. Lord, spirit of the living god, make a way, lord, make a way tonight. Jesus, father, we thank you for the scriptures that we've been in tonight. Lord, wherever you are, whatever your life looks like, in the close of this service, this podcast, this live stream service tonight across radio, don't be like Peter. Let's not be like Peter and look at the storm. Let's focus on Jesus.

Speaker 2:

The closing scripture is Hebrews 12. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author, the perfecter of your faith. Hold on to the word of hope. Never give up. The Lord is good. His mercy endures forever. Stand strong in the word. Stand strong on the word of God. Do not give up. Do not give in. The word of God is with you. The power of the Holy Spirit is over you. We are clicking out in just a few seconds. So thank you so much for staying with us all through the Passover, all through last week, and for what is about to come in the new season of life. I pray that you will live by faith. God bless you. May the hand of God be over you. Stay in the scripture, god bless.
