The Danger of Modern Idolatry - (#1043 - Elim)
What modern golden calves have we erected in our lives?
In this bold and soul-stirring episode of the Unshakable podcast, Pastor Ben Cooper confronts the spiritual compromise of today’s world by unpacking a profound scripture from Judges 21:25:
“In those days, Israel had no king; everyone did as they saw fit.”
This ancient diagnosis sounds uncomfortably familiar. Even with our political structures, churches, and institutions, we live in a society where everyone defines their own truth. The result? A culture overflowing with modern-day idolatry—and many of us don't even realize we're part of it.
Drawing from Exodus 20, where God commands His people to have no other gods, Pastor Ben reveals how subtle idolatry has crept into our everyday lives. It’s not just golden statues anymore—it’s status, materialism, image, influence, and self. From brand obsession to social media addiction, we’ve built altars to what we admire, crave, and prioritize over God.
In one of the episode’s most heartfelt moments, Pastor Ben shares a personal confession during communion:
“I’m sorry, Lord, that I’ve built idols in my life.”
His honesty opens the door for listeners to reflect deeply:
What am I really worshipping?
You’ll learn:
- What the Bible says about modern idolatry
- Why “having no king” is a spiritual crisis, not just a political one
- How cultural influence can quietly replace biblical truth
- Why some Christians may unknowingly worship the church itself
- How to tear down idols through repentance and radical obedience
This message is a wake-up call—not to shame, but to free. Pastor Ben challenges believers to live like Daniel, refusing to bow to modern Babylon. He reminds us that identifying idols isn’t enough—we must remove them, rebuild our faith, and return Christ to the throne of our lives.
If you're feeling spiritually stagnant or stretched thin by cultural pressures, this episode is your invitation to a spiritual reset. It's a chance to return to your first love, demolish what divides your heart, and walk in true freedom.
🌍 Whether you're listening in the U.S., Brazil, South Africa, Australia, or the U.K., this message will cut through the noise and call you back to the cross. The world doesn’t need another trend—it needs truth. And it starts with you.

Speaker 2:Turn to the Old Testament this morning. Coffee, sit back, relax. And to the old testament this morning. We're going to turn to the book of exodus in just a few moments, but I want to take us firstly to the book of judges, chapter 21. Judges, chapter 21. If we turn to judges, chapter 21 first, and then we will go to exodus, we will go to exodus, um, and where are we going to pick it up in Exodus? We're going to go to Exodus, chapter 20. We will be in Exodus, chapter 20, and we're going to pick it up from verse one for a few verses. But right now, at this moment in time, we are going to be reading from Judges, chapter 21, and we're going to pick it up in verse 24. This is where I believe a certain part of this text is where we sit at this moment in time. I believe God is moving powerfully. I believe in the Holy Spirit. I believe he's the coming king. I believe that we're living in the last days on earth. He's the coming king, the power of God.
Speaker 2:Grab yourself a church Bible, and it's very, very interesting to know that Bible sales within the uk are on their highest up ever before. So there is something happening to this nation. So it's great to know that. And it is the younger generation that is asking for bibles, which is absolutely amazing. So there is a stirring because education has fouled them. Education has fouled our children by taking the gospel out of the curriculum and not preaching the message of Jesus Christ. But there is a turnaround. Isn't it interesting that Jesus doesn't need a government, jesus doesn't need education to get his word over, because he speaks to hearts. So there is an increase in the sows of scripture across this nation and we need to give God the glory and the praise for that. And, as we always say here, wherever you are across the world and everybody in the church with me today with the Bibles that are on the chairs, we want the Bibles to go. We don't want the Bibles to stay in the church. God will replenish them somehow his way. So grab a Bible, take a Bible, take it with you, take a scripture. If you need a Bible across the world, please let us know through messaging us. Send us a message, we'll get you a Bible.
Speaker 2:But let's take our eyes now down to the book of Judges, the Old Testament, chapter 21, verse 21, 24, sorry, verse 24 of Judges, chapter 21. And it says at that time the Israelites left their place and they went home, to the tribes and clans, each to his own inheritance. Verse 25,. Just let this absorb, let this just sit in your heart a moment when you look at this quite a harrowing text. In those days, israel had no king and everyone did as he saw fit. Let's pray Father. Oh Lord, will you help us, will you strengthen us in these last days? Will you come, holy Spirit, will you stir us today, lord? Will you feed us today, lord? We want revelational knowledge in Jesus' name, amen.
Speaker 2:As you look at verse 25, just a moment, it says In those days, israel had no king. And we understand from that on, after judges, we understand how the history of Israel starts to unfold. We start to see kings come out, we start to see clear leadership and all that sort of thing. But just because you got a king doesn't mean to say that they know Jesus Christ. So when you look at this nation, you look at the king in this nation. That the question that we have over his heart at this moment is he a Bible-believing believer? Is the king of England, is he a real Christian? He might say all what he says and he might do all what he does. But the question is, is the king of this nation a Bible-believing, spirit-filled, full of the Holy Spirit, full of the Word field, full of the Holy Spirit, full of the word? Is the monarchy? When you look at the monarchy, does the monarchy believe in Jesus Christ, right the way through the thread of the, the monocle reign that we have here? When you look at governments, when you look at this government, does this government believe in Jesus Christ? I would say no, that is a clear no at this moment in time. But I believe God will turn all things around. I believe that we are living in the last days, but as you look at this scripture, it says in those days, israel had no king, and this is where we sit at this moment in time. We have a figure that wears a crown, we have a, a human being that walks around with robes, we have, uh, certain areas, and even in church, some pastors and leaders from certain areas of church think that they're kings and all that sort of stuff. So we have a very obscured look at what we look at as in leadership in this nation. It's very, very interesting.
Speaker 2:When you look at the scripture, it says Israel, israel, that particular point. In those days, israel had no king and everyone did as he saw fit. Some scriptures say in his own eyes. So that is very fitting for where we are today. Everyone is doing what they want to do. There is a free-for-all and that's what the bible says. Just because we have a king, there was judges, there was powerful judges set up in those days and everything that went on.
Speaker 2:But when you look at the UK, england, the UK, whatever our, whatever our name, is over the skin, over the door today, the British Isles and all that sort of stuff, whatever name we have, we do not have a king. We have a figure, we have a monarchy, but we don't have a leader that is leading us in Scripture. We have figures, we have figures, but we don't have true leaders. So where the scripture is telling us today. So how have we got to these points? Because man is making his own gods.
Speaker 2:So let's turn to the book of Exodus. Let's turn to the book of Exodus. You know very, very clear, very, very clear scripture in Exodus. Let's turn to Exodus, chapter 20. So as we go to exodus, chapter 20, you know and you start reading about the 10 commandments. When was the last time we heard the church preaching and staying in the 10 commandments? When, when was the schools and education spoke about the 10 commandments? You know, I believe, that there is such biblical illiteracy across education we are in the worst stage that we ever seen before.
Speaker 2:But actually, as statistics are telling us that the bible is on the increase in sales in the younger generation, because the devil's playground social media. The devil's playground social media and if you're with me, I would like you to read exodus, chapter 20, and we're verse 1 down to around about verse 5. And it says and God spoke all these words I am the Lord, your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. Turn the page and it says there, you shall have no other gods before me. Let's just hold it there a moment. You shall have no other gods before me. Wow, lord, I better start apologizing right now. Jesus, you shall have no other gods before me. We are living in a world that is very, very robotic. We're living in a world where we're herded and if you don't have a social media page, if you don't have this, you don't have that, and if you don't have all the accounts. You're no one you know. And this younger generation, the gaming generation that we have at this moment in time, you know, it's not just the younger generation, it's filtering up through into the adults.
Speaker 2:And then you look at certain areas. We have a very interesting time in this nation. We are very spiritually dry. We have no king. There is. There is king on the throne, but it's not the king that we need. We need the king of kings and the Lord of lords. We need a king that is going to reign. We need a king that is going to lead us in paths of righteousness. We need a king. The children need a king. We got a monarchy that is setting the flags and all the stuff that goes along with that, but we need a king. Where is the king? Where is the king? The king is preparing to come back. The king is preparing to come back.
Speaker 2:And when you look at church, you look at culture, you look at certain things that is happening in this nation. You look at the political agenda, everything that's rolling out at this moment. As we read in the book of Judges very clearly, everyone was doing what they saw fit. Everyone was just doing what they wanted to do. They went back to their inhabitants, they went back to their own area. They they went back and the new testament says I'm going back fishing. Many people have gone back fishing, gone back to the old ways. You know, we don't have a king, we have an earthly figure, we have a structure, we have a system, but we don't have the king of kings and the lord of lords. He's on the throne, he's the ruler and judge.
Speaker 2:But as you look at this scripture in exodus, chapter 20, and as you pull back the fabric in verse 3, it says you shall have no other gods before me. Does this nation have Jesus Christ as the only God? What is happening through the wheels of religion at this moment in time? What is happening through areas of church at this moment in time? When you look across the social media feeds, when you look across all platforms, when you look at every area of social media at this time and as we sit, where is Jesus? Where is Jesus in the church? Where is Jesus in the monarchy? Where is Jesus in number 10 Downing Street? Where is Jesus in education?
Speaker 2:It says in the book of Judges Israel had no king. I know the Bible says don't add and don't take away. Forgive me for this, jesus. What about if you switch that over? And I'm not doing it in replacement theology, we're not going down that road or any road like that. But when you look at that scripture, it says Israel had no king. Let's just take a moment, jesus. Forgive me for what I'm going to say.
Speaker 2:England had no king and everyone was doing what they saw right in their own eyes. The churches are doing what they see in their own eyes. Religion is doing what it sees in its own eyes. Culture is doing what it sees right in its own eyes. When you see everything that's going on, culture is doing what it sees right in its own eyes. When you see everything that's going on, humanity is doing what it sees fit in its own eyes. It's really interesting what's going on and when you see what's happening around the globe, when you see what's happening in certain pockets of the world, when you see what's happening in certain parts of this world, when you see what's happening in certain areas of school, when you see what's happening in certain parts of this world, when you see what's happening in certain areas of school, when you see what's happening in certain areas of certain stuff that is going on. When you look across the world, we could almost say many countries have no king. Israel had no king and they was doing what they see fit in their own eyes at that particular point. And they was doing what they see fit in their own eyes at that particular point. They was doing what they see fit at that time, what they thought was right. But the Bible tells us you shall have no other God before me.
Speaker 2:Do we think that social media is a God? Social media is a God to many people. How many hours do we endlessly scroll up and down? How many hours do we spend up and down the social networks, you know, rolling up and down on that? How many hours do we spend through the night, through the day, checking this, checking that, looking at this? How often do we actually turn open the Bible in our lives? Social media is the most dangerous place to rest your time because everybody else is living the dream and it's a battlefield social media to keep up with the trends that are crossing the globe. But Jesus says you don't belong to the world.
Speaker 2:When you look in religion, you go to every church. Every church is doing everything completely different, but the Bible talks about unity. If we was all united. If you drop the boundaries, you drop the barriers of denominations. How many denominations do we have, even within the town that we are in at this moment in time? Every one of us thinks that we've got it, everything buttoned up right. We've got it right here in Elim. I've got it so far wrong. It's unbelievable.
Speaker 2:You have to look, you say dear God, in the name of Jesus, when you look at everything that's happening in every town, every village, the city, when you look at everything in London church, everything. We have no king because everything is visualization. But let me tell you where the king sits. The king sits in your heart, the king sits in your mind. The king sits within each and every part of the fabric of the skin that you walk in. The king is with you, the king is for you, the king is coming back for you. The king is alive and well and the Bible says the just shall live by faith. Because when I live by faith, I don't put before my eyes idols.
Speaker 2:When you look at religion, religion loves an idol. Religion loves a pastor and a leader. Religion loves to lift up some human being. Catholicism lifts up Mary. The Church of England, in many areas is woven together with that structure. We have to lift up a human being. We have to lift up a human.
Speaker 2:But Jesus says, through the Old Testament, what does it say? And I have to say, jesus, because you can't separate Father, son, holy Spirit. Yes, there are certain areas, what we read about, where Jesus is at the forefront and then he steps back and then God takes place, the Holy Spirit, but the deity is all woven together. You can't take, you can't separate. The Bible tells us this in many, many areas of scripture. The Bible tells us.
Speaker 2:So when I look at Exodus Exodus, chapter 20, you shall have no other gods before me. You shall have no other gods before me. Look what it says in verse 4. You shall not make for yourself an image or an idol in the form of anything in heaven. What does Catholicism have? What is the statue that they look at? What is the statue? What is happening in religion at this moment in time? What is happening in religion? Happening in culture, in church, many areas of religion.
Speaker 2:When you look at the world religions, you will always find a statue. You will find a statue of their leader, you will find a golden calf, you will find somewhere pastors. Love will find a golden calf. You will find somewhere. Pastors love to be the golden calf. Leaders, bishops, deacons we love to be the idol that everyone is worshipping. It's the leader. It's not about Jesus.
Speaker 2:The Bible says very clearly you shall have no other gods before me. I am a jealous God. The Bible says I am the same yesterday, today and forevermore. Why are you lifting up statues? Why are you over serving foreign gods in blue water lakeside, putting money, putting products on cards and getting ourselves signed on the dotted line? Why are you getting yourselves entrapped in material gods? Why are you building houses? What does the Old Testament say very clearly your houses are fine, your houses have gold and silver, but my house is a wreck and a ruin. My house. In that scripture where God says to them look at what you live in. You are living in palaces and my house has been let go, he says, says very clearly God says, through the power of the word, verse 3 of exodus, chapter 20 you shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or in the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down.
Speaker 2:There is a movement. There is a cultural movement that you watch football players, you watch police officers, you watch politicians bowing down to certain movements across the world. Why do we bow down? Because of the pressure of fear. But God says do not bow down. You've only got to read that powerful book of Daniel. I will not bow down to the God that you have created.
Speaker 2:And the satraps and the judges and the prefects and the judges and the governments, and the judges and the governments and the law givers said to the king have you seen your servant? Have you seen your servant, daniel, that when you said, at this time, at this particular moment, you've got to bow down and you've got to serve, and they put a degree in place and they tricked the king because they wanted to trap the Bible believing believer. They wanted to trap Daniel HR office, where you work. They want to trap you. Religion wants to trap you, your family, your culture, life wants to trap you and it wants to fabricate you and get you to bow down to the policies, to everything. We bowed down.
Speaker 2:When did the church bow down? The church bowed down to Boris Johnson at number 10 Downing Street in lockdown. It allowed itself to bow down to Pharaoh's leadership, when it should have busted all the doors open. It should have put across the airways. You come to the house of the Lord, but the church and religion bowed its face to Boris Johnson. It allowed government policies and the trickery of magic.
Speaker 2:Do you know there's black magic in number 10, downing Street? Do you know there's Freemasonry right across the board of Westminster? Do you realize that the Freemasons are alive and well? It's a charity though, sir. It buys minibuses and it does good minibuses and it does good. It sits around the round table. It does good, but it serves lucifer at the top of the tree.
Speaker 2:And you look across the political platform, everything that is going on is that god says do not have any foreign gods. The political area, the establishment. When you look at the establishment, you look at the judicial system we have in the UK, filled up with Freemasonry, the police force filled up with Freemasonry. You look at education, you look at areas of life filled up with the occult and God says do not put before me any other God. Do you realize the judgment that's coming to this nation? Do you realize the judgment that's coming to the church?
Speaker 2:And I'm talking about religion. The Bible says do not have any foreign gods before me. Do not make any golden calves. What happened when Moses was up the mountain having a face-to-face with the God of Israel? He walked down. After getting all this download of stuff, he walked down the mountain and what are they doing? They have melted all the gold they have built before them. Metres away, moses was in the presence of the holy God of Israel, but at the bottom of the base of the mountain, everything was breaking out under the sun Golden calves drinking, partying, everything was happening. They've got themselves foreign gods. You've only got to go to blue water.
Speaker 2:Go in the chapel for yourself and try and find me a crucifix. You'll find in the stonework in the floor I said before a certain arrow pointing to a certain place, and it's not pointing to McDonald's, it's pointing to a certain area of the world. Go and look for yourself. Go and find a Bible. Go and take Bibles and leave Bibles in the chapel at Bluewater. Take a cross and leave a cross. Put the Gospel of John, because it is godless and it is filled up with idols serving foreign gods.
Speaker 2:You go into chapels across the NHS, you go into chapels within the healthcare area of that, and when you look at the chapels in the healthcare. They're lifting up human chaplains. You can't have a humanist chaplain. You can't. A chaplain is a spiritual caregiver, but I'm a humanist. I don't believe in God, but I'm a chaplain. I'll sit around your bedside and I'll tell you when you breathe your last. There's nothing. A chaplain that is a humanist doesn't sit. But the NHS is awash with every chaplain under the sun and the Christian chaplains are fighting to get the gospel of Jesus Christ out.
Speaker 2:Not too far up the road we have the city of Westminster, where we are watching these buildings, the skyscrapers, the gods before us reaching the heavens. What happened in the Old Testament? Let's build ourself a tower so we can get to the heavens above. Let's build ourself a tower so we can become gods. We're in a race where we've got to have the biggest towers stretching into the heavens. And God says what does he say in Exodus, chapter 20, verse 3, you shall have no other gods before me.
Speaker 2:You should not make yourself an idol in the form of anything. We idolize structures, we gaze at fine art, we look at all the stuff around the world and we've taken our eyes. Me rephrase that, brothers and sisters I've taken my eyes off of jesus. Religion makes you take your eyes off of jesus. Church makes you take your eyes off of jesus because it's too busy doing the curriculum that is happening within school and every area and everything. And it's taken our eyes off of the scripture. But what does it say in Hebrews, chapter 12? Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author, the perfecter, of your faith.
Speaker 2:The Old Testament says do not make for yourself golden calves. But the King Nebuchadnezzar? He struck the drum and at that time the whole nation bowed down and served him. But there was this one I want to be remembered as one like that that Ben did not conform to the drumbeat of the social media drumbeat. Ben did not conform to the drumbeat of the social media drumbeat. Ben did not conform to religion. He did not allow himself to bow the knee to foreign gods.
Speaker 2:I've done it many times, trust me. I've done it many times because I got caught in all the structure and the mechanisms of everything. I want to be known like Daniel that stood his ground. I'm not bowing my knee to the government's policies. I'm not bowing my knee to another lockdown. I'm not bowing the knee to foreign guards. I'm not bowing the knee to foreign gods. I'm not bowing the knee to materialistic views and ways. I'm not bowing the knee because the neighbor has got a new car. I gotta get a new car because the neighbor has got a loft conversion. We gotta have a double story extension. I'm not gonna bow the knee to social media. I'm not gonna get entangled in the devil's playground when it starts spitting venom venom at me. I'm just gonna say may God bless you in the name of Jesus. I'm not going to get entangled in the devil's playground when it starts spitting venom at me. I'm just going to say may God bless you in the name of Jesus.
Speaker 2:I'm not going to bow the knee to number 10 Downing Street to allow number 10 to tell me I can't talk about Jesus Christ. I'm not going to allow the government to say you can't preach the gospel. I'm not going to allow education anymore to tell the children that Jesus Christ didn't say in Genesis, chapter 1, verse 3. And God said let me tell education now. Children don't listen to the lie at school about creation. Don't listen to the theories that man has made up because judges is in school. Listen to the theories that man has made up because judges is in school, judges that we read. Each lecturer is bringing what he sees fit in his own eyes. They're theorists. They don't have history. I have history. I don't need to prove that God is in existence, that God is in existence.
Speaker 2:Atheists, humanists, governments. You prove to me that my Jesus isn't alive, because Jesus is alive and well and he is the coming king, and he has told us do not worship foreign gods. What does religion do? Who is the Catholic faith lifting up the Church of England? Even in areas of Elim, even in areas of every denomination, there is a figure that we could worship without realizing we worship the human being. When you look at the mainstream religion in this nation, when you look up, what has it got planted in the towns? What has it got in certain areas? It has statues, it has this, it has this, it has everything. We're coming to the table very, very soon.
Speaker 2:And he says in verse 4 of exodus, chapter 20 you should make uh for yourself. Uh, you shall not make for yourself, sorry any idols, uh, in the form of anything in heaven and above or in the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them, for I am the lord, thy God. I am a jealous God, I'm a jealous God and, ben, you're not going to bow the knee to any political movement. Ben, if you bow the knee to government policies, ben, there's going to be a rumble in the jungle between me and you.
Speaker 2:If you bow the knee to any foreign gods, if you allow the false teachings, if you bow the knee to false teachings, if you bow the knee to false teachings, if you bow the knee to this government, if you bow to another lockdown, what would happen if this nation was told that we are going to lock down? What would the church do? What would the church do if number 10 said it's here, the plague has arrived on the shore of the UK. Shut the shops, shut everything. The church has to close. Do not bow down to the policies.
Speaker 2:I understand fear. I worked on a front line through that. I know and I see things that I cannot believe. What happened, brothers and sisters, this is an encouraging message this morning. Stand on the word of God.
Speaker 2:We are about to approach Palm Sunday extremely soon. It's coming. You can feel it coming down the tracks. You can feel everything that's coming down the tracks. But don't take your eyes off of Jesus. Jesus is a king and this nation has no king. We are kingless, but there's a king that is inside of you. We are lacking leaders like we've never seen in this nation before. We have no real leaders within the church. Within the political agenda, we have businessmen and women leading churches by checkbooks. What we want are faith filled, spirit filled leaders that will lead with the gospel of truth.
Speaker 2:We need a radical change in church. Out of church, we need the power of God because we got idols in pulpits. We got men and women making themselves into idols. We have churches making their ministries into idols. We have everything going on in culture, out of culture, and God says I am a jealous God. And God says I am a jealous God.
Speaker 2:I want to hear a message on the wrath of God. I want to hear a message on the power of God's wrath, because that's what this nation needs. To hear the power of the jealous God that is filled with wrath and anger. Oh my God. But I can hear the voices now, but he's a God of love. He does love every one of us. But I can hear the voices now, but he's a God of love. He does love every one of us, but he says if you make.
Speaker 2:If you have idols before me, I'm going to be jealous against you. It ain't going to be fitting right. I'm not saying you're losing your salvation, but it ain't going to swing right. The swing ain't going to swing right If you got foreign gods before me. If you're putting social media, if you're putting money, if you're putting religion, if you're putting your car and your career, if you're lifting up your house, you're laying in your bed and you're saying, look what I have built. If you are looking at materialistic, if you're over over blue water lakeside and you're putting stuff on credit cards, ramping this up new TVs, everything going on. If you're building your kingdom, I am going to be jealous. It's very interesting. What does social media do? It tells you to build yourself. You've got to have a profile, you've got to be someone. It's like Darwinistic traits right before our eyes, trampling on over each other. The survival of the fittest, the one that's got the money, is going to get to the top of the tree.
Speaker 2:Who are you serving, ben? You can't have many gods. There's got to be one God. The Bible says seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and everything else shall be added to thee. Let's take to the table.
Speaker 2:Father, in the name of Jesus. I'm sorry, lord, that I've got foreign gods before you. I'm sorry, god, that I've built my life with golden calves. I'm sorry, lord, that I put idols in front of you. I'm sorry, lord, that I put idols in front of you. I'm sorry, lord, that I have not lived my life by faith. I'm sorry, lord, that I fouled you. I'm sorry, lord, that there are idols in my life that I didn't even realize that I built. Lord, I want you to tear down every idol that I have placed in my life. I want you to tear down all foreign gods, lord, I want you to tear down every area of that life within me.
Speaker 2:And, lord, I want the world to know that I want to be like Daniel as being recognized, that I will not bow down to the gods of this world. I will not bow down to what social media is telling me to do. I will not bow down to government policies. I will not bow down to what religion is doing. I will not bow down to the atheists, to the humanists. I will not bow down to the Muslim. I will not bow down to those that worship foreign gods. I will not bow down to those of the court in the occult world. I will stand on the word and, dear God, in the name of Jesus, put a hedge around every one of us. Fill us with the word and power, fill us with the authority. In the name of Jesus, lord, I am sorry. I have built idols in my life. I believe and confess. Strip it back in the name of Jesus.
Speaker 2:By the clothes and the branding that I wear, I have built idols by the trainers and the shoes on my feet. I have built foreign gods by the label on my belt. Lord, I serve foreign gods, lord, by the car I drive and the status that I want the world to see. The badge on the front of your car. The majority of the badges are conforming to something that we don't talk about Astrology. Have a look at logos. Have a look at the Costa Bean. Have a look at logos. Have a look at the Costa Bean. Have a look at the logo. Look at the branding on the front of your car. Have a look. Astrology we serve the gods of the heavens. Look at the badges on your car. Look at the logos that are designed.
Speaker 2:Look at all the stuff that we have so many gods in this world by the belt that I wear, by the cap that I wear, by the trainers on my feet, by the Nike tick on me socks that I got on this morning, and I'm not frightened to show you me sock. This morning I've got Nike socks on. We are serving labels, we serve labels. I've got to stop serving labels. In the name of Jesus, I've got to serve the King. I've got to serve the King. Are we prepared to serve the King? Father in the name of Jesus, we've got 10 minutes and the camera will click out for those online.
Speaker 2:Father in the name of Jesus, I come to the table this morning and, I'm sorry, I've served foreign gods From the branding I wear, from the Primani to the Louis Vuitton, to the Asda t-shirt, to the Nike socks. We are living in a world that has created foreign gods and we dress ourselves in the clothing of the foreign gods. Oh, it's quite scary, isn't it? Do not put before me foreign gods. Help me, jesus, because we are in a crisis. From clothing to cars, from coffee shops to blue water, constructed in a temple for foreign gods, the pillars, the structures, the stonework. Going to blue water is like going to Egypt. God bless everyone.
Speaker 2:Father, in the name of Jesus, I come to you right now and I break bread Because I want to be remembered as someone that didn't serve foreign gods. Please, jesus, help, from the cars we drive, from the clothing we wear to what is stamped on the pound note that we have in our pocket. Spirit of the Living God, I thank you for this bread that is broken Because it symbolizes the body of Christ. Amen. We have eight minutes. Father, in the name of Jesus, as we take of this cup, we come to you this morning and, lord, I ask you that you will smash down Every foreign God that I have built Before you, that you will smash down every foreign god that I have built before you, that you will smash down the Ashlopols, the idols, the autors, the foreign gods.
Speaker 2:I've got to wear a certain watch. I come from a certain culture. I've got to wear a certain belt. I've got to have a certain haircut because it fits in a certain way. I've got to walk a certain way. I've got to wear my trousers a certain way. I've got to drive a certain car. I've got to speak a certain way. Church can be a very dangerous place because it's a brand, it's an organization and, lord, I need to break the brand and the organizational control. I need to know that I'm in the kingdom. So, lord, will you tear down Ashlepoles? Will you tear down foreign gods? Will you tear down religion? Will you wash me right now, in the blood of Jesus from the crown of my head? Father, I thank you for this cup. This cup symbolizes the cup of redemption, lord, and I thank you that we are redeemed, that we are covered in the blood of Jesus from the crown of our head to the sole of our feet. In Jesus' name, amen.
Speaker 2:When you look at church, church is very cultural. Church is extremely cultural. Churches is built on culture. Church talks about building a culture the certain ministries talk about. We got to build a certain culture that is, there's no culture in the kingdom, because the kingdom is when the king reigns. So we I'll use the word of compliance we come under, we surrender. When you come under the king, you're under his rule, you're under his reign, but there are many ministries out there that are building a culture.
Speaker 2:Business. When you work in the area of business, when you step into a new tower or a new place where you work, where you work in certain areas, it will say look at our cultural values on the wall, read what we're going to deliver to the custom, read what we're going to give to the customers. In this environment, we go to work and we have to adopt the culture of that business. We go to school, we go to religious areas and we adopt this culture. We're birthed in a culture. God, I want this culture to be broke. I want to know that I'm someone of the kingdom, because culture education comes out of Father.
Speaker 2:In the name of Jesus, I pray right now for such an outpouring of your spirit. You will break the culture that I've been birthed in. That you will break, dear God, these idols that I have a certain way of dressing a certain way. Dear God, of wearing clothes, a certain car, that I drive a certain way. Dear God, of wearing clothes, a certain car, that I drive a certain brand, a certain house. I've got a. I've got to have a certain TV. I've got to have a a certain way. I've got to be on all the social platforms serving foreign gods. So, lord, I ask you, father, that you will break that within me today, that you will break that, at the name of Jesus, that every foreign God that I have placed before you, lord, every idol that I have built, lord, every area of life that you will tear it down in the name of Jesus, and I will live by faith.
Speaker 2:I will not look to the value of how much money I've got, to what I'm going to do and going to achieve. Lord, I do not want to live my life by the value of money. I do not want to live my life by what I have, because if my life was valued on what money I've got, I've got nothing. So that suddenly makes me nothing, because money puts a value on a human being. How much money you've got, that's how much you're worth. If you ain't got nothing, if you're in debt, goodness gracious me I go backwards. If you're a millionaire, you see that stuff going on and as you watch people that have got money, the way they walk, the way they stride around, money becomes the God down, money becomes the God. Lord, I want to serve you by faith because you shall supply all my needs according to thy riches in glory, lord.
Speaker 2:I don't want to put the strength on the money, on the pension fund, on the universal credit. We define ourselves by what comes into the bank through universal credit through to the monthly pay, to what we get for, however. We get money because money is a way that we trade and we understand that it's just a trading mechanism, but we put our self-worth on the value of what we've got. Hang on a minute. I've got to stop this. I've got to realize that I don't need the cash, I don't need the card, I need Jesus, because when I have a radical faith, all things are possible to those who believe.
Speaker 2:I believe, lord, you're going to get me a home and it's going to be paid for. I believe, lord, you're going to put me into a position, lord, where I'm not going to be straddled in debt. I believe you're going to be paid for. I believe, lord, you're going to put me into a position, lord, where I'm not going to be straddled in debt. I believe you're going to break the debt in my life. I believe you're going to break everything in the name of Jesus. I believe you're going to break this poverty thinking that I've got, that I'm trapped by universal credit, by social housing. I'm trapped here, there, I am trapped. I am not trapped. In the name of Jesus, lord, break every idol, break every idol in my life and let me live by faith. We have less than two minutes in the name of Jesus.
Speaker 2:The camera will click out. We will finish church in our own way and if you're on radio and wherever you are listening to us across the world, music will play. The cameras will disappear. You know, and I just want to let you know, in prayer, in prayer, in prayer, as we said we got you know. Thank god for the gospel of jesus christ.
Speaker 2:Wherever you are in the world, I pray right now that you will feel the love of Christ, the power of the Holy Spirit. So, father, in this close, in this moment of closing Spirit of the living God, I want to live by faith, by faith, I live by faith. So right now, lord, I'm not living by the value of finance, I'm living my life in the gospel of Jesus Christ. We're out of here, we're gone. May God bless every one of you. The cameras are dipping off, the mics will shut down, but we will just say the Lord's Prayer in just a few moments. May God bless every one of you. We'll catch you online tomorrow night at eight o'clock. Thank you for everyone listening to radio at this moment across the world. May God bless you in the mighty name, in the powerful name, in the greatest name in heaven and earth that you carry, the name of Jesus Christ.
Speaker 3:God bless I invite you to say the Lord's prayer with me. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
