1 Corinthians 8 : 6 — Midday Prayer for Purpose and Christ-Centred Living

Recorded live here in London, England — from London to Paris, from Paris to Toronto, from Toronto to Singapore — as the world races through midday, we pause to remember: all things come from God, and all life flows through Jesus Christ.

Scripture (NIV)

“But for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.” — 1 Corinthians 8 : 6 (NIV)

Show Notes

The middle of the day often brings noise, pressure, and distraction. Across search platforms, people type “prayer for purpose,” “how to stay focused on Jesus,” and “Christ at the centre.” This verse re-aligns the heart: there is one Lord — Jesus Christ — and through Him, we truly live.

From London to Paris, Toronto to Singapore, believers stop to reset their priorities. Success, routine, and responsibility fade beside the greater truth — life is not about achievement; it is about alignment. When Jesus Christ becomes the centre, confusion gives way to clarity, striving gives way to peace, and chaos gives way to calling.

This midday, we pray to live intentionally — to work, speak, and love as those who belong to Him. Let Christ not just be part of your day; let Him define it.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you that there is purpose. There is purpose and unity and focus on Christ Jesus today. Lord, we believe that there is unity and there is purpose when we focus on Jesus. Lord, we want to make Jesus Christ the very center of every moment of our lives. And today, wherever we are, Father, as the world is racing through the midday, the evening, the morning, as the world is tearing itself in pieces. Father, I want to pause and remember with my sisters and brothers across the world that all things come from God and everything, life flows through the Holy Spirit. And today, Lord, I ask you, wherever we are, from England to Paris, from Paris to Toronto, from Toronto to Singapore, let the Spirit of God be over your life. And I thank God for you. Wherever you are situated over this beautiful world, God is with you. 1 Corinthians chapter 8, verse 6, says we are in prayer already, but as for us, but there is only one God, the Father, to whom all things came from and whom we live. And there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through all things came and through whom we live. Father, will you let us know that we live in Jesus? Lord, will you let us know that we live in the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit? Will you let us know that we live in the God above all gods? Lord, I need to let the listeners to know today that there is unity and there is power in the name of Jesus. And Lord, I want to let the world know that there is only one God. There is only one Father. There is only one Jesus Christ of Nazareth. There is only one Holy Spirit. And today, Lord, I pray for the listeners. Lord, as the world brings pressure, Lord, we ask you that the noise of the world will decrease. We pray that pressure will go and direction will come. Lord, as we lock shields, as we lock hearts together, Lord, as we hold hands tight, Lord, around the world. Father, today we are praying for purpose. We are praying for us to stay focused on Jesus Christ. And we are asking that Jesus at the center of our lives. Father, we need to be Jesus focused. We need Christ at the center. And the prayer for purpose is please, Lord, help us to realign our hearts with God. Help us to realign our lives with Jesus. Lord, you are alive and you are well. And Lord, we thank you. It's not about achievements, it's about aligning ourselves with the word. It's about coming under the kingdom of God. Lord, we know that Jesus Christ is the King. We know Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. But Lord, we need right now, through this crazy way of world, Lord, stir our faith. Lord, I pray right now as we are looking at chaos in our lives, as we are looking at chaotic situations, I pray that you will bring calm and peace. Lord, for those that are at the doctors and really scared, I pray that Jesus will be at the center. I pray for those that are on palliative care, that Jesus will be the center. I pray for those that are at work and scared about the outcome of a situation, that Jesus is at the center. Those at school, those at college, those at work, those that are living, those, dear God, that are hanging on to life by the skin of their teeth. Let them know that Jesus Christ is the center. Father, wherever we are, we believe in the power of Jesus Christ. We believe that Christ can raise the dead. We believe that we might be having a Lazarus moment, but Jesus is calling us back from a situation that was about to take us out. And God is calling over your life. Let's make today, wherever we are, Jesus Christ centered at my work. Jesus is my wisdom. He is my strength. I surrender to the word of God. I honor Christ in all things. I want to lift up the name of Jesus. Jesus is calling you today. Let's pray for strength and faithfulness in the Word of God. When we make Christ centered, everything else finds its rightful place. Purpose flows from his presence. Let's make a declaration. There is only one Lord, Jesus Christ. Through him I live, I move, and we are being drawn to the cross of Calvary. Share this prayer today with someone that needs to find a purpose for their lives. My name's Reverend Ben Cooper. May the glory, may the power, may the love of Jesus be over you. Wherever you are in this world, the Spirit of the Lord is over you, and Jesus Christ is the center of your life. He is making a way. Trust him and never give up. Until tomorrow, stay blessed.
