Psalm 23 — Midnight Prayer for Comfort, Peace and Rest in the Valley

12 A.M. Release — Recorded live here in London, England — from London to Sydney, from Sydney to Nairobi, from Nairobi to Toronto — as the world turns to a new day, the Shepherd walks beside His people in the darkest hour.

Scripture (NIV)

“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” — Psalm 23:1-4 (NIV)

Show Notes

Midnight is the hour when the heart is loudest. Many search “prayer for peace and rest” while the world sleeps, carrying anxieties they cannot speak. Yet Psalm 23 still whispers through every screen and city: The Lord is my Shepherd. When life feels empty, He fills; when the road darkens, He guides.

From London to Sydney, Nairobi to Toronto, souls are rediscovering rest not in silence, but in Shepherd-presence. The same God who led David through the valley still leads us through loss, loneliness, and uncertainty. Peace isn’t the absence of trouble — it’s the presence of God within it.

Tonight we pray for the troubled, the restless, the weary. May quiet waters flow over your mind and the voice of the Shepherd remind you: you are safe, you are seen, you are loved.

We're in Psalm 23. Wherever you are across this beautiful world, the glory and the power and the anointing of God is over your life. The Spirit of the living God is with you. We're in Psalm 23. Without further ado, let's read it. Psalm 23, verses 1 through to 4. We're praying for comfort. We're praying for peace. We're praying for rest in the valley. The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Father, we thank you for this midnight hour. We thank you for the early morning prayer time. We thank you for this devotional time wherever we are gathered across the world. Lord, we believe that the Spirit of the Lord is over each and every one of us today. And as we lock shields today, Lord, with the daily prayer family, Lord, we believe in the power of God. And Lord, wherever we are scattered across this beautiful earth, from London to Sydney, Toronto, Oslo, Father, in the name of Jesus, we pray for the Belaric Islands. We pray, dear God, for Europe. We pray for Ukraine right now, Somalia. We pray, Father, that the love of God will be around the world. You are the great I am. And we believe in miracles. We believe that you are raising the dead. We believe, dear God, that the tombs are empty. We believe cancer bowels. We believe sickness bowels. We believe fear bowels. We believe heart disease is being reversed. We believe new lungs are being restored. We believe, dear God, for those that have MS are walking well in the name of Jesus. We believe, dear God, for motoneurone disease has gone. Father, in the name of Jesus, epilepsy, cluster headaches. We believe our God is healing us right now. And wherever we are across the world, we want to tell the world that the Lord is my shepherd. I want to tell the world today that the King is in our lives. I want to tell the world today that he is leading you to green pastures. I want to tell you right now he's taking you beside quiet waters. He's restressing your soul. He's refreshing your life. Even though you walk through the darkest valley, I want to tell you you're not going to fear no evil, for God is with you. His rod and his staff, they are comforting you right now. You are not alone. Wherever you are across this world, the love of Jesus Christ is over your life. Father, as we walk through the valley, we believe in the word of God. We believe in the stability. Lord, even though there might be trouble, even though there might be restless nights, Lord, even though we might be weary and tired, we believe, Lord God, in the quiet waters of the rivers of the Word of God. We believe that the Word of God is coming out of our belly like rivers of living water. And today, Lord, we want to hear the shepherd's voice as you remind us, Lord, there is safety, there is peace, there is calm. And we are loved by the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Father, we thank you for peace and rest at night, comfort in times of trouble. Lord, we believe that there is calm in the storm. Father, for those that cannot sleep, we pray for anxiety and mental health to be restored. We pray for God's presence to fall in the darkest valleys, strength to rise and hope, healing of hearts and minds today, faith in life in uncertain days. Lord, stillness in God's trust. But Lord, we want to call, dear God. We want to call our brothers and sisters right now and say, listen, God is with you wherever you are. We want to put a call out there right now and say, God is with you. Wherever you are, sister and brother, you are not alone. The Lord is your shepherd. We declare, the Lord is my shepherd right now. I will rest in his peace and fear no evil. For the God above all gods, the king above all kings, the savior of the world, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, is in our lives. And wherever we are at this midnight hour, whatever we are doing across the world, the Lord is my shepherd and I rest in his peace. I will fear no evil, for he is with me every hour, every moment. Spirit of the living God, I pray that we will share this midnight prayer with someone who needs peace tonight. My name's Reverend Ben Cooper. Until tomorrow, don't you ever give up. The God that we serve is with you. Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior. God bless.
